I recently delivered in Thumbay Dubai. My OB was dr.hema Sharma and she was beyond amazing. She patiently answered all my first mom question and was even available for questions through Whatsapp. The only thing I didn't like about my experience at Thumbay was the fact that they don't let you take anyone for support at the time of delivery. Other than that my entire antenatal and delivery experience was pretty good at Thumbay. I also delivered in Thumbay. Yes, being alone during delivery is scary and i went thru all of that because of their crazy policy. Sadly, the nurses nor the OB on duty too was not even helpful. I don't know if it was meant to be like that so you will pay up more to end delivering via CS :(:(

Hi saw your post if you dont mid me asking how did your delivery go in Thumbay and which doctor did you finally go to? I am also planning my check ups in Thumbay Did you deliver already? My son was born at Thumbay and my experience during labor was not that good because the OB on duty was not that assisting despite me telling her im a first time mom. I ended up having an emergency CS. but during my stay after delivery was wonderful and all the staff was helpful. It was 2 years ago though, maybe now, they are more organized and established.

We went to Social by Heinz Beck for our anniversary and it was exceptional, very good service, the food was sublime PLUS we used our Entertainer at the time so it was truly worth it! We have been back once more since then and were equally happy with our dinner! It was a wonderful experience! thanks skyfall.. yes i also saw an entertainer voucher for it but it's only main courses. You didn't go for the degustation menu?

welcome to UAE! and congratulations on your new baby daughter. Dubai 'mostly the big hospitals' is patterned through the UK maternity and childcare system, hence it will be almost the same vaccination list you will get for your baby. As a matter of fact, if you have a residency and tenancy, you could just go to health centers near Abu Dhabi and sign up for the free vaccines, the same dosage and kind given in private hospitals. We bring our child to Medical City here in Dubai as vaccines are covered by insurance. You can check with your insurance too if they could approve yours. Otherwise, prepare AED700-AED1,300 for vaccines.

I gained 12 kg 'total' during my pregnancy but all my tests and visits to the doctor reflected a normal healthy pregnancy. I think her tone and approach to you is what makes you feel guilty and stressed. But i have to agree with her that it's dangerous to be overweight during pregnancy. I guess you try to look for another OB if her ways are bothering you. You need to have a good coach this time around and not a guit-inducing doctor :D

Hi naddu200! Reading your story makes me believe on miracles. Congratulations! Remember that every pregnancy is different. My advice will be just to listen to your body and take the signs from there. It's better also not to read stories or articles about anything negative about pregnancy and stop doing research on so many information. It will stress you out even more. Read more funny, nice and good stuff or even watch something funny. Laughter eases your well being. Anything beautiful, suck it up :) In my experience, i find talking to your baby inside and sharing what you feel helps. For some reason, my baby helped me with my all day sickness. I told him mommy's very tired and need rest, and i did had a good rest that day.

Hi everyone i am planning to travel in 32 weeks from abu dhabi kindly guide me about a good doctor in abu dhabi who would give me good guidance about travelling amd anybody who travelled after 30 week kindly need guidance Before you ask your doctor, might as well, check with the airline's policy about flying pregnant women. I had an issue with Fly Dubai last time even i was only 27 weeks. Had a little delay as they were discussing things despite the NOC from my doctor///i think there were worried as one passenger had pre-term labor in the cabin days before me. After like 30 min, they allowed me to go but so much paperwork or I guess waiver to sign stating they will no way in **** be responsible for you. hehehe All my multiple travels during my pregnancy were safe and sound but I stopped on my 30th week. Of course I was under the supervision of my OB with all her written clearance to allow me fly.

Hi Cleo4e! My answer to your post is definitely not a concern though. As long as you are not having pain, serious bleeding, you can wait until the 10th week to be checked and scanned. Just take vitamins for the baby which is folic acid. I took Pregnacare when I was at your stage. Could relate with all day sickie. However, I experienced that when I was on my 14th week-18th week of pregnancy and oh my, it was really hard. My OB doctor told me though that it's perfectly a sign of a normal pregnancy and it might be a way to also bond with your child inside. Talk to your tummy bump and share this experience. You'll be surprised your baby might do you a favor to help your hormones be normal again :biggrin:

I'm using the Stokke Xplory to my son, color gray and very happy with it. Bought it at aed3,500 during the Mothercare sale last year (summer festival). I haven't seen prices to go that lower on JK. I've been monitoring their promos for 7 months before i deliver and nothing came up quite good. usually their sale is for limited items only of Stokke and definitely not within the price range i bought and the color i want. I'm surprised they supply MC and M&P and don't give good discounts

Just a review of this hospital. I have delivered here 2 months ago and my experience on the delivery was ok. Not perfect but with the package they offer, it's already reasonable given that Dubai maternity and delivery packages cost an arm and leg. I had an emergency CS here as the baby went distressed. Doctors were very upfront and quick to act on their next step during the complication. I just don't like how they handle their Mother-child / Breastfeeding campaign. They are not a breastfeeding Hospital advocate. Nurses &amp; Doctors were not aware how skin to skin is crucial on mom and baby once out. Service and private rooms were all very nice. I agree about the breastfeeding thing though! I delivered there in October.. And the doctors were very good and insisted on me delivering normally though I was crying for a C-section due to pain.. But then they asked me if I'd like epidural.. and I gave birth to a baby boy normally.. But they have no in-house lactation consultant and the nurses haven't a single clue how to help a new mom to breastfeed.. I struggled a lot with it (for upto 3 months) and then a new Pediatrician called Doctor Anita helped me out.. She sat with me for half an hour helped me to breastfeed.. But after seeing our struggle she insisted I go to a Lactation Consultant and I did.. And that helped.. Anyway I digress.. As far as the delivery goes.. they are good.. and once my baby was out they gave him the shots and kept checking his Blood glucose and all that (cos I had GD).. Their package is good, nurses are helpful, great doctors and nice comfortable rooms.. Need a little more work in the Breastfeeding area though :) rockyroqs211, it was good to know you delivered also there safe and normal. Couldn't agree more about your points about their packages and the doctors. I have joined a private Breastfeeding group in facebook when my DS was only 12 days old and they helped me alot with my questions and taught me the proper technique both on breastfeeding and eventually,pumping.

Did you guys use Mybox or some other service? venita6, as usual you are lucky. I did try to order for 25$ and it has been cancelled and the amount is still blocked and will be released on the next billing cycle.:( Utterly disappointed though.

I only did pre-natal yoga at Balance Well Being at Oasis Center. It was great however, the instructor resigned already and they had to hold pregnant classes for some time. Im not sure now. Perhaps they resumed this. As for gym places here, i think they could accommodate your health goal but you have to pay a reasonable amount to a private instructor to go with you since you are pregnant.

I would also report the incident to the proper authorities and file a written complain about it. For me,it's my social responsibility not to let this boo-boo dentist go on like this to others. It's just not right. I'm sure there will be someone who will help you out on this battle. Yes, it will take your time and money and the hassle of it all, but at the end of the day, you are clear to mind that you've revealed this crook dentist's ways to his patients. You have to elicit a reaction that would prompt them to do something accordingly.I don't have a sweeping generalization to all but I observed that some people here in Dubai doing business in the service industry will only care if you give them back their lousy service.That's just my view.

It would be reasonable to allow the husband (if he really is) on your maid's off and not on his, however, they should meet outside if they would like to 'lounge' longer than usual. If his off is not the same as your maid's off, that is not your problem. He is not employed by you and should not make any other demands, lest staying in your place. This is to avoid any situation that might not be favorable to you and your family. I also suggest to also include limit using cellphone during work hours.

Hi Flames, Did your order go through? No :'( I just called their "Beauty Advisor" and she said that it's because they don't forward to a freight forwarder. I told her that the reason mentioned in my email address was the billing address and I have been doing it for years. The item that I needed was limited edition and out of stock now so I begged her and offered a different address. So she said she will arrange to ship it to my friend's address. So I sent them another email with the new address and also mentioned that I will prefer to have it shipped to the first address. Fingers crossed that they will ship it! flames92, im confused...you mentioned a new address to your friend but you emailed that you prefer to ship it on the first address (the old one?). Sorry I'm not following or my comprehension just wade off because of my canceled order and now my money is blocked off and I cannot use it :(

HI, My order was around $260. They cancelled stating that they couldn't verify the payment details. I did order 5 pieces of one limited edition item for myself and some friends. I am not a reseller.....one look at my order history will confirm that as I have never bought more than two pieces of same item. Besides, why do they even let you add 10 pieces of each item? Yesterday, I placed the same order again with my UAE address as the billing address and they haven't cancelled it yet. Fingers crossed that they ship it. I'll update you once they ship my order. Btw, keep your order under AED 1000 or marked it as gift. They will charge you 5% customs and an extra admin fee of AED 125! For Sephora orders, they have an option where you can mark it as gift at checkout :) Ok. noted on the aed1k amount. When they cancelled your order, did the amount got hold by your bank? was it returned or did they unblock it immediately?

Hi mommypie, I made 2 purchases. The first was for 62$ and the second one was for 98$. I don't think that the amount will be flagged as an issue. I read that sometimes they cancel orders if you order multiple items of the same thing. For example, if you order 10 gwen stefani wonderland lipsticks. They might think that you are buying them to resell them at a higher price. Did you check out Nordstorm. They have a lot of products. Also Amazon might be worth checking out. Also if you buy the products from the respective brand's website, you might get some discounts if you are a first time user. Urban decay gives 10% off for first time users. Colourpop cosmetics gives 5$ off and so on. But, I really hope that Sephora is not banned for us. Fingers crossed. BTW, did you try ordering anything after you changed your shipping details. I didn't..my bank did not release yet the pre-authorization amount I had with my first order and they said after one billing cycle. So I didn't order yet again. Did this happened to you? did your money got on hold at your bank for quite some time?

I'm looking for a good sports bra that offers strong support for larger breasts while running. I can only seem to find the "crop top" type bras in the sports shops, but I need a "proper" bra. Can anyone suggest where to look? Trying on is a must so I can't order online. Also, I have been thinking of getting a Fitbit to track my daily walks/runs. I'm not so concerned about monitoring my sleep and the like. Does anyone own a Fitbit for this purpose and would you recommend it? Does it need to be linked to a smart phone or can you do readings directly off the bracelet itself? (I don't use a smart phone!) Any feedback would be much appreciated! TIA ladies :) I have been able to check a decent sports Bra at Victoria's Secret having their sports/gym line. It's been pretty much ok with me. You might want to check it out. As for the fitbit, I haven't had one but I have the Apple Watch which basically does the same function as fitbit but offers more. It has an activity tracker of your steps, heartbeat, how long you stand, calories to burn and even your sleep too. Been satisfied with mine for the past year :)

From what you wrote, it seems that there maybe a small difference between your shipping and billing address. Just keep your billing address and shipping information the same. You should not have any issues. Venita6, you are so lucky...i don't want to be nosey and tacky but your purchases are above 100$? my total bill was about 300$. Will that be another flag?

I have used my dad's card in the past and used my MYBOX address as billing and shipping address. B) They don't usually charge you unless your order ships. yikes! I saw one sleeping poor looking guy (in ragged clothes) under the Times Square bridge way back 2007 and immediately made a U-turn. I had nothing to give as I was also running out of cash that time but a hot burger i ordered from Mcdonalds at the gas station. and I wanted to just put it near him so that when he wakes up, he could get it. I parked, walked towards him and then he suddenly woke up. Knowing I was near him, he gave me a horrifying stare and almost attacked me thinking I will hurt him. I didn't know the next scenes but just rushed to my car and drove fast away from that area. Yes, from then, I had a FROZEN heart. :(

I put on my shipping name my married name and my billing address my maiden name. Will this flag them to scrupulous transaction? How can I amend this? anyone who experienced the same? How long did you MyBox take to set up? I set up an account 2 days ago and they said they would email me with the details in 48 hours but nothing so far? 2013 i had a miscarriage and was rushed to the ER of American Hospital. I was 8 weeks then and the medical staff there were very helpful. I was not bleeding much but the doctor strongly advised me to go the natural way of letting my body expel the remnants of the pregnancy out instead of D&C. After 7 hours of observation and ultrasound to check my uterus was already clear, I was given some meds and went home to recover. Back to my country of origin, most doctors advise immediately D&C but here in Dubai i experienced differently. It was good that the doctor who attended to me at American Hospital advised me the natural way and after some time, I got pregnant and carried a healthy pregnancy and baby.

I used seven generation for cleaning baby's laundry and they seem good but pricey here in UAE. I buy at Babyshop as they have a section of Seventh Generation. However, I bought some cleaning stuff from the Organic store near Oasis Centre, Shk Zyd road and they are commendable for giving a good result while not having nasty chemical smell.

Thumbay Hospital comes cheap in Dubai as it is the branch of GMC Hospital in Ajman. I delivered there under emergency CS and i paid around 11k only all in. Avail their delivery package

We had a ski holiday this year at St. Moritz and Zermatt in Switzerland. Both expensive but the best slopes and activities for the family.

hi Mommy! I delivered there and I can say the facilities and services are good during my stay since it's a new hospital. Also, no hidden charges. As for the doctors, the duty OB doctor i didn't like as she wanted a fast delivery that i ended up in an Emergency CS. I know my body that i could deliver normal but we don't want any other complications so we opt to go for what she said. The rest of the doctors were very hands on and thorough with me. They are transparent on what they will do to you and explain things accordingly.
