Btw Homegrown is opening up a new branch .. Have u been to children's oasis or child's play? They r quite popular too. U cud also check jumeriah international nurseries, they have several nurseries and are cheaper than those mentioned. Horizon kids nursery guarantees u a space in their school. Let me know if u need more choices, I've been to so many.

Thts true..kuta is really noisy and trashy but very alive with lots to do at night and so many boutiques and cafes..there's an amazing place called ku de ta restaurant. I only know two other locations which is Nusa dua, lovely place, we stayed at the Laguna, great hotel by the beach, the beach is amazing and So many pools, food is great and so is the spa, service is excellent and there's another hotel called st Regis which is also great! There's a very near area with so many cafes, boutiques and restaurants, walking distance but I doubt if there's any night life there. The other location is ubud, it's not by the beach but in the jungle, we stayed at a villa hotel called Kupa kupa which was also amazing, breathtaking view frm the room with your own private pool. Mosaique is a very famous restaurant tht is highly recommended in ubud but needs prior booking. I'd def stay at a beach hotel and at a place in ubud to experience the jungle. Def go rafting, dnt go to the elephant temple which was very boring, the rice fields are spectacular. Hope this was helpful :)

Well I've been to Sharm so many times but I wasn't a mother yet but I can tell u this: I love the beach at the Hilton neama bay or movenpick and both hotels r very central so close to the shops and restaurants. Intercontinental has a very bad rocky beach and savoy too Fourseaons is lovely but the beach is tiny but great food and excellent service Most of the hotels have lovely pools. There's a water park or (hotel with water park) in Sharm tht opened recently which will b fun for the kids. Tarasina is a great place to swim. Take a boat ride to one of the islands and spend the day. I love Sharm it's so alive and busy! I haven't been in so many years and there r so many new hotels, try to pick a hotel tht has a good beach cos some of them r too rocky and it wouldn't b fun for kids. Hope this was useful :)

Need to give a evening gown to the dry cleaners... any reliable dry cleaner in JLT area? I tried one in Jlt but I can't recall it's name, it was awful and it totally damaged my clothes. Since the. I dnt take any risk and I use champions, they might b expensive but I'd rather pay a little bit more than throw away several items (had to becos totally changed colors). All the I remember is tht it was inside the tower and not an outside shop. Dnt take any risks..

Thank you for your replies. My daughter is going to be 6 months and she's exclusively breastfed. This is my first child which is why I don't know what I'm doing and I'm also a bit scared because I'm scared she's going to choke. ? She won't choke if: she already can sit on ner own and is seated properly (buy a baby feeding chair) Purée the fruit or veggie as much as possible or u can give her porridge Feed her very small quantities in the spoon until she gets the hang of it Dnt worry abt it tht much ull b amazed on how fast they learn :)

Hello there :) Well it depends on how old ur baby is (on choosing wht to feed him or her) Just start by one meal per day (one puréed apples) (puréed to b almost like liquid) Try feeding him or her with a spoon, he won't understand yet but will try to Everyday for a week and see how it goes Always introduce anything on its own to see If ur baby has any allergies And of course breast feed and dnt stop, he or she will take some time to be able to eat with the spoon and swallow and then eat a whole meal and after tht u can introduce a second meal This website helped me a lot .. http://wholesomebabyfood.momtastic.com/solidfood4to6montholdbaby.htm Good luck :)

Happened to me in Jeddah when I lived there///Used to just carry an M and S light chiffon scarf in my handbag. Better to be prepared.. Well I never carry one and no police man ever asked me to cover my hair bas myb as u say she shud just carry one in her bag just in case ..

It depends on wht u need exactly...a cheap one for a one time visit or a more classy expensive one I just got one frm wafi mall, there r several stores and some r extremely expensive, mine was ok for dhs350, (i need a good one cos I keep it for everytime I go to saudi). U can even find at satwa or barsha mall or Carf supermarket for much cheaper than tht :)

We did the mistake and moved here without considering a lot of things.. Two very important points u must not ignore or postpone to when u move to Dubai..medical insurance is a must and schooling.. Good luck with ur decision, I know it's a tough one And btw I know families tht live in a one bedroom, husband, wife and one child So u can consider tht for a year so until u find a job, just a thought..

Hi there It depends on where ur gng exactly, Riyadh is more conservative than Jedda, I've only been to Jedda. In Jedda u only need to wear a abaya and do not need to cover ur head, try not to wear open shoes. It is very hot now, more than Dubai so try not to wear anything revealing under the abaya, just try to b as conservative as possible (I find tht very difficult as it is very hot there). U might find also need to know this: in saudi, malls, restaurants and supermarkets close during prayer times (4 times per day) and they will not open there doors not even if u need water, so make sure u have everything u need In most areas there r separate places for women, its called families section, there's were u can go sit and have a cup of coffee or eat There's no dressing rooms in malls so u can never try an outfit unless u buy it and go try it in the toilet. A mattawa is an official tht can ask u to close ur ababya or cover ur head (so keep a scarf in ur bag or just around ur neck if ur in a mall) or even ask who is the Man U r with. I ve never seen one and I've been to jedda several times. Good luck :)

Hi ladies, Can anyone tell me where I am able to get some decent maternity clothes in Dubai please. I was in Dubai Mall for 4 hours with no luck. It seems unlike the UK normal shops like new look and matalan and top shop don't do a range here. H n M have the smallest section which consists of horizontal striped long sleeve Tees and khaki pants. Otherwise the only other places I found were mother care/mammas and Pappas which again consisted of the stock similar to H n M. Seems the other options are boutique style maternity shops where a dress costs 500dhs. Any help to still remain stylish even though pregnant? Thank you There's a store called maternity destination in Dubai mall and marina mall, both on second floor, they have amazing stuff and many brands, some are quite expensive though Try also premaman in Dubai mall My advice is not to buy too much maternity clothes as ur size keeps on changing and u only use em for a few months Good luck :)

I guess ur talking abt fruit flies..I had the same problem and I got rid of them ..yey!! So anyway clean the kitchen very well, all cupboards, fridge frm the outside, look for any small food around the kitchen Thts hiding in any corner. Second step if u have any bread, fruitts, snacks, hide em all. Clean the sink very well with Clorox and now this is how u kill em.. Before u go to bed spill those drainage cleaning things in the sink hole and leave and wash next day. The next day spray insect killer spray in the sink hole. Dnt forget to close the kitchen door becos of the strong small. I also asked my building service to come clean it. This is where they live. Try not to let any food to get there cos Thts how they survive. Hope it works, it worked great with me :) edited by Sabdallah on 09/03/2014
