I started solids because I felt she is ready for it. She wants my milk like every two hours or less and at night I'm going crazy cause she wakes up five to six times to feed. Also she has lost her tongue thrust and seems interested in food when we are eating. I just feel she's too hungry and milk alone is not satisfying her. I'm so confused. :(

Hey Lynett, trust is hard to win back once lost but not impossible. Actions speak better than words. Now that you have realised your mistake do whatever it takes to win his trust back. Don't be reluctant to make little sacrifices and never loose your patience. Keep in mind perseverance is a great element of success. Xoxo

Redrec tangle we inserted half yesterday evening and three fourth today morning which came out at the same moment in her diaper. After that we inserted a full one in an hour or so since the first one came out the moment we inserted. Anyway she pooped a little more few mins back and I think her tummy is almost free of hard poop.( I know all this is sounds gross but since it's concerning a wee baby I hope no one would mind) I'm so thankful to all of you for giving good info and making me feel at ease.

Hey Kenza had a hard day. We had to finally insert suppository and that did help. Right now she is playing with her dad and I feel so relieved seeing her back to normal. I think I gave her too much. Day before yesterday she had almost one apple and one banana, maybe that constipated her. Poor thing suffered much today. Ill definitely slow down from tomorrow. we bought some pears, plums, apricots and prunes. I'm thinking to give her pear and prunes tomorrow with a little water maybe. Lets see how it goes. She already drinks my milk like every 2 hours or so. edited by mssassy on 20/12/2013

Thank god she's laughing and seems very happy now but I feel there is still some left. I'll wait and see how she is tomorrow. If she is in pain I'll try suppository again. Also planning to give her some prunes and pears tomorrow.

Thanks a lot for your replies ladies! Poor thing could pass few bits after putting half suppository. It was really hard to watch her pushing, crying and eventually falling asleep after all the hard work. We are taking her out now, she suffered too much today. We will buy some prunes, pears and oranges. I'm not going to give any solids tonight. Really hope she will get better soon. Thanks much everyone.

We inserted half and few bits came out but she's still crying and I think most part of suppository already came out. Can we insert the rest or wait. I know this is not a chat board but seriously need advice.

Hi MS, I wouldn't take her to the doc just yet. Try pureed papaya. My concern is if she's been trying to pass it and it's been hurting, she might associate pain with passing poo and might start holding it in next time. I say this based on experience. So while trying to feed her fibre rich food, you may also want to try glycerine suppositories which you can cut in half and use since she is under one. At least this will help soften what's already there to come out and make it a less painful experience. And just FYI, carrots when cooked and bananas not fully ripe can be constipating to some people as does applesauce. It's advised to avoid BRAT diet while constipated (Bananas, Rice, Applesauce and Toast). I hope she feels better soon. Thanks a lot coffeebean I was waiting for someone to reply. She is sleeping now. My DH bought glycerine suppositories already I was confused whether to use it yet or not. So better we cut it into half and use it right. She is crying real bad while trying to poop.

Firstly, are you making homemade puree? Some of the stuff in jars has thickener in it,,,ugh. I never fed mine fruits to start, always savory, like pureed green beans. Yes homemade.

My DD(5.5 months) is having hard time trying to poo from yesterday. Its her third day on solids. I fed her carrot puree, apple puree and banana so far. Its really sad to see her crying while trying to poop. I know its common during this stage but I need advice. Just few mins back I gave her little raisin water as advised by my mom. Dont know if this is going to work though. Should I take her to the Doc or just wait and see. Should I stop giving her solids till she can pass her poop. Or should I try pear or apricot puree?? Im really worried and can't see her like this. She never had constipation when she was exclusively breastfed. ( I posted this on preg/ babies board but it is a slow moving one)

Hi mssassy.....solids on the whole are going to be new to her digestive system, but I would avoid those particular fruits and veg for now as they are all quite constipating. You would be better trying some ripe pear, peach or apricot, but it could be an idea to go back to just breast milk for a day or so to help things settle. I haven't given any solids from yesterday night. My DH bought glycilax- suppositories but not sure if I should use them. I'll try pear, peach or apricot tomorrow.

I too feel rather than cooking up stories, tell him exactly what happened and what exactly the teacher told you. Trust is the foundation of all relationship and once lost it is hard to build up. If you too start hiding things from him this is getting nowhere. You have been married for 8 years and I don't understand what is stopping you to discuss your worries with your partner. Please don't wait any longer and stop imagining things.

Sorry I have 2 thoughts process's on this one 1) That there was something going on and your DH has got cold feet and he has ended it and now she is telling you out spite. 2) She tried to hit on him and he had declined and again she is doing it out of spite. The reason behind my thoughts is that if the lady at the nursery was so uncomfortable would she not have mentioned this to her superiors ? it doesnt make sense to me Possible but maybe she was being nice by letting the OP know before anyone so that she doesn'tnt embarass the family in front of others.

So you do think he's hiding a lot of other things. This isn't good. I believe you can be the best investigator because no one can find stuffs like a doubting married woman. My friend went through almost similar situation and she could bring everything under light by herself. edited by mssassy on 18/12/2013

5 rules of a relationship: 1. Stay faithful. 2. Make them feel wanted. 3. Respect your partner. 4. Don't flirt with others. 5. Make time. Also each one should think highly of the other and the other is good at something.

Kiwispiers and Kenza I really appreciate you both for taking time to provide such useful advices and info. Could you please clear a few more doubts? I'm exclusively BFing my baby but of lately she just wants to feed every 1 or 2 hours. Even at night. Could this be a growth spurt or is she not getting enough milk? I think my supply is still good. I can see milk even after she finishes. I'm getting too tired waking up 2-3 times in btw sleep. Should I start giving her a top up bottle with FM? (shes is 5m and a few days old.) Kiwispiers I have read about baby led weaning and I m planing to follow that approach. Should I attempt it now because as I have mentioned above I think shes not satisfied with my milk alone. Actually Im not able to tell if its a growth spurt.

Just a small piece of advice, having an older toddler. Enjoy this time where YOU are still the master of what goes into your childs mouth. Before you know it you will be facing birthday parties with chocolate cakes (sometimes 2 times a week), picky eater syndrome (muummmyy II HAATTEE VEGgies) , family members giving them sodas behind your back, etcetera.. This is your only chance at giving them that head start in life in creating a healthy relation ship with food and they will actually accept it. edited by KenzaB on 13/12/2013 Thanks again Kenza. I can relate with that. Have seen my sister running behind my niece to feed her.

To be able to make an informed choice about giving baby jars please read the information in the link: http://www.thealphaparent.com/2013/02/the-truth-about-baby-food-jars.html To start solids is an exciting time and u shouldn't have to worry to much about the first months. Most of it is usually about exploring new tastes and textures. You could get a Baby Cook (I have the Beaba one) and start out with 1 vegetable or fruit a day. It is so easy and doesn't take up much of your time. Once baby (and you) has gotten the hang of it you can start experimenting yourself or if you still feel insecure get the baby cookbook from Annabel Karmel. She also has a Facebook page you can follow to get an idea. My son used to love mashed avocado, that is the easiest thing to prepare. Mashing a banana takes 30 seconds. You could even mix them. Steamed or cooked pears/apples/nectarins are always a winner. Sweet potatoes, butternut squash, carrots are good starter foods as well. edited by KenzaB on 13/12/2013 Thanks much Kenza. So you suggest introducing fruits and veg first. Annabel Karmel comes highly recommended I see. I feel myself so stupid now for not doing enough study on baby food.

Thank you ladies for your insight and kiwispiers for providing such vital info I didn't know. Being a FTM I was under the impression that jarred food is better than home cooked and I really don't know what exactly made me think so. I never knew it contained less nutrients. I was just concerned about me cooking baby food in the right consistency without any lumps that may choke my baby and also worried about preparing such small quantities and storing it in the right way. Some of my friends who have been here for a while says that meat what we get here is not fresh and sometimes old meat. Is this true? I would also like to know if it's better to introduce her to fruits n veg first or rice cereal?

hey, you must apply olive hair oil in pure form every night in advance before washing your hairs. Apply it in night and in morning cover ur head with hot towel, repeat it three four times for around 15 minutes and then shampoo it..you wil find the difference Sounds good but not suitable for someone like me suffering from migraine and sinus.

I had a few hair loss phases in my life, the latest one in Dubai about a year ago. I found two things that work: 1) Regaine (there is one for women, too) - same type as Rogaine, see that it has 2% minoxydil in it and apply religiously every day. You might see hair falling down again once you stop using it though. Didn't happen to me but I only used it for a couple of months and once the hair stopped falling I stopped applying. 2) Someone on this forum recommended Phytophanere capsules. I think it was Beebers, God bless her. They worked wonders for me. For real! Didn't help nails much but I forgot all problems I had with my hair. It stopped falling, it got thicker, and it grows faster. And it happened really quick. I would totally recommend trying them out. Good luck! edited by The Russian on 12/12/2013 Hi Russian... did you have any adverse affects of these products.... I am always wary of using such products fearing it might have hormonal ramifications or something... especially the capsules.... sorry for being a bit crude but did hair anywhere else (besides the head) got thicker too when u took the tablets...?? Even I'm scared about capsules. I would like to hear answers to twirl1's questions.

YorkieScott why do you want someone else to massage your baby. Isnt it better to do it yourself since its a great way of strengthening your bond with your baby. There are plenty of good videos on you tube for the same. My neighbor has gone to the Healthbay clinic baby massage CLASS with each of her infants. From what she says, the class is more of a chance for women to form social bonds with other women who have kids the same age, so that if they hit it off, they can be friends and organize playdates for their kids. there is also the massage element where all mothers do the same thing to their baby at the same time. Good to know this!

Hi Jupiter, a five week old normally sleeps for 16-17 hours in total. Most of the babies sleep more during day and less during night. But I know babies who hardly sleep. All babies are different. I would'nt worry as long as the baby is happy, alert and taking feeds properly. I ll just share my experience. I struggled much with my DD to settle her to sleep through the night. She used to sleep a lot during day time unlike your LO. Now she is a happy 5 month old who sleeps through the night. Do you do dream feeding? If not start it from today. Trust me it helps a lot. If he wakes up at 2am or such times do not switch on the light and do not play with him. Try to get him back to sleep by rocking, singing or whatever. This way you will give him a message that its sleeptime at night. My cousins baby used to sleep for very less hours . He is three and very happy and smart. However if you are concerned ask his Doc.

My DD is five months old. I put her on her play mat with baby gym for a while. When she gets bored I put her on her sing and swing. I sit with her and play together with her rattle, keys etc. I sing rhymes and read books too. She also loves having some chewing time with her teether/ washed clothes. But after all this if she still gets bored we take her out in the evening.
