For me, complete darkness and silence helped. I had to also take medication but even with those, I had to be in a dark room and it had to be completely silent in the house. If my mom was around, she would give me a full body massage and that helped greatly. Me too want darkness and silence when I'am having migraine or sinus attack.

The doctor I met last time said this - Avoid butter/ghee, hot tea/coffee, junk food and oily food Avoid using perfumes, deodorants, powders Avoid bright lights, using computers or watching T. V. for long hours and a lot more like avoid stress/tension.... Because any of the above mentioned can trigger migraine. I was like I better be dead than following it. Well, apart from pain killers, steam inhalation with olbas oil or vicks, washing your face with hot water and applying some ointment on forehead, resting/sleeping for a while if you can etc can help...... edited by mssassy on 27/11/2013 edited by mssassy on 27/11/2013

I have a great hair stylist back in my home country and I get most of the hair works done from him. I do trimming here and I don't go to fancy saloons for that. Don't have a fixed one too. edited by mssassy on 27/11/2013

I was just reading up on it. Doesn't last very long - 10 washes they say. I'd stick with the Keratin, at least that lasts months and not weeks. Thank you, FairyDust for your response. With so many views and no feedback; I better drop the idea of doing keratin or botox again. Thanks again. Nothing can beat the feel and look of untreated natural hair! Personal exp. Try having MY hair lol. NikitaD, I do the Kerastraight and I love it. Usually last 4 - 6 months before it needs redoing. My hair is always in fab condition afterwards, the frizz goes and it's manageable. It also greatly reduces the dreaded hair fall that many of us suffer from here. I haven't seen anyone offering the hair botox here, so I can only go on what I've read about it. I know, some people are not lucky to get a non-frizzy hair. Even mine is not perfect but luckily after refraining from chemical treatments for a year I got a self manageable hair. The thought of treating it again and again every six months makes me scared and I picture myself bald in a few years. I tend to loose hair after treatment. You are lucky you don't. edited by mssassy on 27/11/2013

I hear horror stories on often outbreaks of viruses and infections in the nurseries. My cousin's kids are sick every now and then and they get it from nursery. I was wondering if its common in all nurseries or just a few. Do all nurseries ask for Doctors certificate for all illness or only the major ones?

They say Dr. Spock's Baby and Child Care has been The Bible for new parents for years. But few of them I know found it useless and a very few rely upon her expert pediatric advice. Like some ladies have already posted what works for some babies and mothers doesn't work for others. I think you are getting very anxious about your new baby's arrival and life afterwards which is very common in the third trimester. Im sure when you have your baby you will know what to do and what not. Nobody has to teach you, neither you have to follow a strict path. Best of luck!

Haha explosion already happened today. But I've been noticing this for quite sometime. Shes being cranky a day or two before the explosion day and looks very happy afterwards. Maybe I'm simply relating both.

I will never take maternity photoshoot in jeans. I did mine in tight long Maxi dresses which accentuated my figure and covered my feet. If you have already purchased shorter frocks I think stockings should help you. thanks..did u do your shoot in dxb? Nope I didn't do it in dxb.

It will be 99 percentage correct. Esp if they have predicted boy because it's much easier and clearer to identify boys than girls. And at 20 weeks I think it will be too clear to make a mistake.

Dark colours and vertical stripes will make you look slimmer. Wear body hugging thermals/Warmers inside and go for tight denims and vertical striped tops and cardigans.

Hello Massassy There is a female pediatrician at Ittihad Government clinic in Safa. She is there everyday until 1pm. Now I take my baby to a private pediatrician since this clinic is close to us, but if there is something severe I would always prefer going to Ittihad clinic to see that female doctor. This is there number 04-3421005 Hope this helps Hi Dusha, like AnonDubai said did you see a GP first? Can you tell me the name of that female doc? No I didn't see the GP. Sorry I can't remember her name. I happened to see her last month too. It seems like she is the only pediatrician at Ittihad clinic, Safa. I first saw her in April 2012 Thanks Dusha

I gained almost 18kg when I was pregnant with my DD and lost like 12kg in just two months after giving birth. Credit goes to amazing breast feeding that help you burn around 500 calories with no effort. Weight gain is necessary and can't be avoided during pregnancy. I don't think you have to be concerned. My sister gained 25kg during her first. She had a girl. She is due again on next month end and I see she has not even gained half of what she did for her first. It's a boy this time. So nothing like you will gain more if it's a boy.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I was advised (as baby had severe jaundice) to top up and I feel baby sleeps longer with it although that might just be my lack of confidence in my milk as he gets v colicky with both. My milk supply is good maybe I should just breast feed as my baby is telling me! Yes continue breastfeeding and dreamfeed will help your baby to sleep longer. Top ups can decrease your milk supply.

Just curious- were you asked to supplement the baby with formula? Why do you want to introduce top ups at this stage if your milk supply is good. Anyway try using nipple shield while breast feeding for a few days and then try bottle if it can't be avoided. edited by mssassy on 19/11/2013

Twice a day? Isn't it too much? Do you use soap everytime? If you do, avoid soap atleast because it can really dry your babys skin out. I bathe my baby thrice weekly and top and tail every night. I moisturise her twice and whenever I feel her skin is drying out. I think massages(gentle strokes) are meant to soothe babies and not irritate them. So I will avoid it if baby hates it.

Babies don't even need to be bathed everyday. Not that its bad, some babies love to be in warm water. But bathing everyday removes the natural oil that protects their skin. Bathing twice or thrice weekly is more than enough especially for dry Dubai climate and till your baby starts crawling and get dirty. Why do you want to force your DD to get a massage if she doesn't like it? Many babies here have dry skin and eczema. Do moisturise her twice everyday. If you still want to force your baby to get an oil massage, try Jojoba oil after bath.

Did you discuss this with your pediatrician? Well, breastfeeding is the best for babies till six months, if not formula. No water and no solids till then. I don't think any pediatrician will say that introducing solids for a 3 month old is good. I don't know on what basis your family is suggesting this. In your other post you have mentioned your baby is having cold. Is that why shes having these difficulties? Try breastfeeding her with a nipple shield for few days and then try pumped breast milk in bottle.

Hi ammu07elvis. My DD caught a bad cold when she was around three months. I didn't try any home remedy and ran to the Doc ASAP because I know for babies cold can easily turn into croup or pneumonia. Please dont wait and show a pediatrician ASAP especially if baby is not feeding properly. If its a mild one they might ask you to do steam inhalation while feeding and give you fenistil drops for easing irritation. Isn't it heartbreaking to see your little one suffering? About oil massage - it is good for babies but who said its a must? And its always better to do it after bath as per my pediatrician since vice versa can lead to rashes, increased dryness etc. And use an oil that will be absorbed properly into the skin preferably a non greasy one. Also I'll not oil massage my baby if shes having cold or fever.

I'm using Philips SalonDry control. It has a concentrated nozzle and I really love what it does to my hair. Don't have to use straightener anymore. I don't remember for how much I bought it but surely it didn't cost more than 300.

From my understanding, it does not work that way. When you go to the government clinic, you have to see a GP first. If a pediatrician is required, then you will either get a referral to Latifa if a specialist pediatrician is required, or a referral to see a pediatrician at the same clinic on the days that they come. I think that in both of these cases, it would be difficult to choose a specific pediatrician. However, I don't think that it is impossible. I didn't know this. Thanks for the information.

Children under 10 are not allowed in the front of the vehicle belt or no belt. That is the only law. edited by BubblingCreek on 17/11/2013 Yes but sadly many doesn't follow it. I have seen mothers carrying infants in front seat. Wonder if they are not aware the airbags could be killing.

Nanny abuse cases were the reason I suggested a well run daycare with web access at all times your child is at the venue. However I know there are very good loving helpers available too, it just depends on who you choose and how it all turns out. When it comes to your baby never skimp on good quality care, you'll get what you pay for. Got that!
