Whether they were penniless or not, it's hard to comprehend that they turned to their daughters murd*erer for money. Only now that it is exposed, they are saying they will return all of it. The fact is, they approached him asking for money, it wasn't that he offered it to them, I think it's pretty disgusting and such an insult to their dead daughter. I just can't believe the lawyer for Reeva's parents asked Pistorius for support, they accepted monthly payments from him for 18months, it's a bit of a sickening twist to the sorry tale. I would starve and sleep on the side of the road before I would take money from my daughters killer. A 3 year house arrest is just laughable. Apparently they will be paying everything back.....they have been in a dire financial situation what with her father suffering a stroke. They turned down the blood money outright and have said they won't pursue a civil case against him....that speaks volumes about who they are.

We use it all the time and find it great service. It's a chauffeur service, it's not just that any individual who can give a ride. No cash changes hands, you set up an account with Uber and they charge your credit card, Uber then settles payment with the drivers. It's pretty hi-tech, you can see on an app, exactly how far away your car is.

Absolutely NOT appropriate ! You should certainly speak to the Principle, who probably doesn't even realise how the cleaning is managed, they may have a 3rd party company hired to do the work. I am sure the school principle will share your concerns and do something about it very quickly.

Apricot, that book doesn't answer the questions about the situations we are discussing here. We are discussing the people who fraudulently get citizenship of Canada by 'pretending' they are living in the country permanently, when in fact they have no intention of ever living in Canada. They want the Canadian passport for practical reasons, for travel purposes, so they don't have to deal with visa issues, they want to have a safe haven should their own country blow up, they want access to western healthcare and they want access to free universities.

I read that a Lebanese family in Dubai had their Canadian citizenship revoked also and that the Canadian government are investigating a few thousand UAE residents who already have Candian citizenship for having falsified their residency. National post Canada, Quote :- Ottawa has stripped a Lebanese family of their Canadian citizenships — and handed them a $63,000 bill — after they were caught blatantly lying about living in Canada, part of a government crackdown on bogus citizens that could extend to thousands of cases. The family — a father, mother and their two daughters — signed citizenship forms claiming they lived in Canada for almost all of the previous four years when they really lived in the United Arab Emirates, a fact even posted online in the daughters’ public résumés on LinkedIn. The bold nature of the fabrications — that successfully won them citizenship in 2008 and 2009 — and their attempts to fight Ottawa’s decision brought rebuke from both the government and the Federal Court of Canada: not only have their citizenships been revoked, but they have been ordered to pay all of the government’s $63,442 in legal bills.

Court5, we do have the care and keeping of you, but it doesn't talk about the birds&bees. Suzy, that looks good. Some of the books that looked good on Amazon, the reviews were very telling and the books covered things I don't want to have to talk about for another while, things I didn't know about until I was an adult, so I want to be very careful with the books I choose.

I personally have not found myself in that situation, but two close friends of mine have and in one case they did stay with their partner and managed to move on eventually, she would say it took her 5 years before she could really let go of what happened. In the other case, it was my friends wife who had an affair, they split up but got back together after about 1 year and have since had a child and are very happy. I would imagine, if it is a once off and the offending partner is truly remorseful and does everything they can to gain back the trust, loyalty and love of their partner, it may be possible to move past it eventually. I am truly sorry for you and hope it works out for you as you want it to.

yes, Genie, I think they are making the classic mistake of forgetting who their customer base is and what they want. The reason I go to Spinneys is because I can usually have a choice of the brands I want and I am prepared to pay the premium, now that I can't find them, I will be going elsewhere. Mrs Mozz, you reminded me, I also tried their dried herbs and it was tasteless, I ended up throwing it out. Has anyone tried the new Geant near Jumeriah Park ? does it have a good selection ? might give that a try.

We have had visitors do it with a little one who was 4. They don't actually 'swim' with the dolphins, they stand in the water up to waist height, with a group of about 10 other people, and the dolphin is made to do tricks and they get to stroke the dolphin and interact with it by throwing a ball or ring to the dolphin who then brings it back, they also get to 'kiss' the dolphin. I think all children have to be accompanied by an adult.

I thought this was an interesting perspective ........ particularly about passports ... "[i'>For a glimpse of Scotland's future as an independent nation look to Ireland's past In 1919, Ireland voted for independence from Britain. Seventy per cent of UK citizens in the land (Republic of Ireland) voted Yes to independence, they left the UK, got a government of their own, and local officials transferred their allegiance to the new state. But you can still take an express train across the UK border to the capital of the independent nation without a passport.[/i'>" http://www.independent.ie/opinion/for-a-glimpse-of-scotlands-future-as-an-independent-nation-look-to-irelands-past-30583571.html#sthash.aDqM7p8A.dpuf..

Well, when you read in the news, it seems like it is a lot of bad timing for them, as apparently there will be 2 centers built in the UK to offer the specific treatment they want for their son, but at the moment it is not available in the U.K.. And won't be for another several years. The NHS is way behind other countries in using this treatment for childhood cancers. A handful of children have been sent by the NHS to other countries for the treatment, but it all depends on how the different NHS trusts want to spend their money, 'the postcode lottery ' as it is called in the UK. Maybe if they lived in a different part of the UK, they could have gotten the opportunity to investigate the option of this treatment for their child. Apparently their dr.s in the UK would not entertain the idea of even discussing the case with overseas hospitals that perform the procedure. I would do what they did, sell the clothes of my back and run away with my baby, to get a second and third opinion to give my child the best chance of recovery. It's unbelievable that they are now in prison for doing that. It's painful just thinking about it.

Man, it is just horrific to think of a dying baby alone in a strange hospital while his parents are locked up for wanting to try everything to save his life. His brothers and sisters are not even allowed to see him. What is wrong with this world, where is the compassion. Another sad indictment of the NHS and the UK family courts. Cannot imagine being that family, I just want to cry for them.

I have used Montexa too, and I would recommend her, her prices are average and the quality is good. Having said that though, I now realise that there is no possible way I will ever get 'shop' quality finishes from a local dressmaker. I have tried the really high end (Tatiana AED1200 to make a short dress) to the least expensive (Dream Girls AED250 to make a short dress) and I can say none of them have been perfect. They all have entailed returning several times for modifications, poorly fitting and okay finishes. I will use Montexa in future though if I do want something made, Anne is the best of an average 'lot'.

Can he have the surgery done in Europe or the U.s? I have heard so many dreadful stories of surgeries gone wrong here that' I would try to avoid it, that being said, I have had better experience at the American Hospital than at City, but never had surgery at either of them, Is your husband having a colon re-section? Or only having the polyp removed?

I know nothing about these situations, however my immediate instinct is not to lie to the police, if it does come to you to having to call them. If you try to protect him by not disclosing about the affair, it could seriously backfire on you, in that he could still try to claim custody of your baby. I don't know what nationality you are, but if you read several cases here over the past few years of custody battles, you will find that rarely is the outcome in favour of the mother. I would just forewarn you to thread carefully, Can you try to pretend a holiday in your home country with the baby ? Can you negotiate with him now to release your childs passport, in return for you not reporting him and his mistress to the police ? As others have said, see a lawyer first before you take any further actions, get their guideline on how best to protect yourself and your baby from any more physical and emotional abuse and to ensure that you do not risk him fighting you for custody of your baby. The affair is a very good negotiation ground for you, but don't use it until you are sure what you will do next. Good luck, hope you get rid of this piece of scum pretty soon. edited by mum2girls on 19/06/2014 edited by mum2girls on 19/06/2014

First, I would say you would need to have a general idea of what prices are like in the area you are purchasing. If the house is on the market for AED5m and similar properties are on the market for AED3m than you know where to start. I was looking at a property recently that the guy was asking AED2m more than similar properties in the area, he would only drop it by AED200,000 and that was his final price, He is happy to leave his house vacant while he waits for his price. Generally, with an asking price of AED5million, I would say you may get it for 4.6 to 4.8 million, If it was me I would start negotiations around AED4.2m

I have looked at Emaar 6 and they are top notch, but prices are really on the high side there, especially if you want a Marina View. Have also looked at Marina Quays, All Sahab and Marina Tower. Any one lived in those and what do you think of the quality of them, building maintenance etc. Any other buildings I should consider? I hear there is a big mosque being built in the Marina area, so don't want to be too close to near that either. Thank you.

Basically all you are doing is throwing a party ! What happens at the party, what you wear, the blessing, speeches etc. should not really be relevant as you are already married. I assume you have your marriage certificate already, can you not show them that ? Does that not carry any weight ? I do know from a friends experience, that they made it very difficult for her, a non-british citizen marrying a British citizen in the UK. They assume everyone is faking a marriage of convenience until proven otherwise. Good Luck, I am sure you will sort it out, you just don't need the unnecessary stress. edited by mum2girls on 01/06/2014
