Harald Coating Chocolate, it comes in 1 kg blocks. I'm looking for it as my last source, Geant supermarket no longer stocks it. Hi Apricot seeing u after a long time. I got HARALD from Sharjah Cooperative. I just bought them last year as soon as i saw the bars thinking i might be able to use in baking. But when i substituted the white chocolate for white chocolate chips in cookies, the bits just melted away. Then just researched on google and came to know that they can be only used for coating. Do let me know how else can I use it. can i use it to pour it on the cake after frosting it with buttercream? but the problem i face is that u have to melt it very carefully otherwise the oil separates from it. it is more sensitive to heat than the hershey choco chips. also when i melt it its nice and smooth and thin but i cant pour it on the cake coz itz still warm for the buttercream on the cake. if i leave it to cool a bit it starts to harden and is not easily pourable in one go!!! what do i do? Could u plz share the blondies recipe PLZ PLZ Do u make cakes on order too? and is ur baking art on FB? Would love to see ur cakes. Could u plz tell me where can i find the details regarding the choclate deco method that ur gonna use on the cake. any links on the net. Iv been looking for white choco chips too but to no avail yet. All the best for your lovely cake.

hey Naiyyar, how are you? i did this in my chocolate class and i believe couverture is tempered chocolate (we had to temper it ourselves to learn the technique). As you say it is used for coating and gves a nice sheen. you can use to coat strawberries, make truffles using the trays you can buy and a few other things (sorry was not concentrating much in that class, horrible morning sickness). It has that nice chocolate snap. Have fun making stuff! :) Hi DB, believe me just a few days back i checked in ur blog again!!! hope and pray all is fine at ur end. Havnt tried coating strawberries. I finished my stock of HARALD testing the stuff and making cake pops and grating it on cakes. Will go hunting for it again. What brand did u use in ur class. Any idea where can i get white choco chips and peanut butter chip. im not able to get it. Thank again. And all the best for all what you do. :)

Hi Naiyyar, could u pls tell me where u got the Harald chocolate from? I need it to make my son a cake from the Whimsical Bakehouse Kids Cookbook, they do all their cake decoration with buttercream frosting, then stick on details made with hardened Choc decorations, they call it "the chocolate method". Another thing u could do with the coating Choc is to make and coat cake balls. I ended up using all my white coating Choc to make Nigella's blondies, made 4 batches for new-baby-welcoming parties. My DS does not suffer the same, but has Haglands Deformity on both of his feet. He sufferers from heel pain. Our doctor suggested physio (which did help a lot). At the moment the problem is not there but can flare up every couple of months. We were advised to use insoles which had arch support. In Dubai Mall next to Waitrose there is a shop called, I think, Foot Lab. The lady I spoke to in there knew her stuff and also said the same things that the physio had said. She suggested these insoles. My DS nows wears them all the time and is pain free. They also sell shoes and sandals. Maybe worth a trip down to have a chat. Good luck edited by wiggywig on 07/07/2012 Thank you so much widdywig for the reply. will visit the DM store uv mentioned. How much did the insoles cost?

My mother is suffering from Plantar fasciitis (heel pains) with the common symptom of severe heel pain when she puts her foot down first thing in the morning. Earlier not knowing what was causing, a visit to the doctor and the x-ray confirmed it; a small bony growth. He has recommended to use voltarin gel, lose weight, dipping heel alternately in hot and cold water (she is not doing this now as it worsened the pain in the morning) and using ortho shoes specific for this condition. She is also doing the heel stretching exercise standing in front of a wall. About one and a half months have passed already doing a combo of these. She's been a very active lady so we have to tell her mama please we are here to do all the work but you know its difficult for her to just sit around!!! But she tries to avoid now. I would like to know from the EW who are going through the same situation how else are you managing with the treatment. How long did the treatment last? We are also looking for the ortho shoes. Any recommendations where can i get them? and what specifically do I have to buy coz the doctor dint elaborate on it. will really be grateful for any input. Thank you

This is too funny how stupid do they think people are - ''Many people regularly drink Cola because their religion forbids them from drinking alcohol'' Sounds like a publicity stunt - and may actually be good for us if we stop having coke and pepsi...[b'>its injurious to health even without the alcohol[/b'>! Absolutely true!!!

I love mini-desserts specially in the summertime cause I think its too hot for a big plate of sweet! I make a trifle with crumbed coffee cake as the base, jell-o french vanilla pudding as a second layer, Cadbury Flakes as a third layer and cherry on top The flavors work really well together and the best part (for me, at least) is that its not overpoweringly sweet Cadbury flakes is a nice idea. will use them too.

IT ISSSS!! YES sure sure why not. Plz go ahead and make it. II'll tell u the amounts too if u dont mind :-) I served them in 5 oz small glasses. Its a heavy dessert esp after having a full course dinner. I used about 20 graham crackers of a Phillipine brand i got from Al maya supermarket. Added 75 gms of melted marai butter. powdered it in the mixer. Put them in the glasses and pressed them with a clean mini jam jar i have. then i whipped 200 ml of marai heavy cream till soft peaks and folded it with 200 gms of spreadable Philly cream cheese. just mix the cheese too around with a fork or a beater to smoothen it before folding with the cream. ADD SUGAR TO TASTE.added few drops of vanilla (optional) Now be careful!! here is the dangerous part. Let some one from ur family stop u from eating this lucious thing!!!! spoon this creamy mixture in ur glasses . it will be a bit spreadable but if it dosnt fill the corners of the glass dosnt matter but dont try to shake the glass cos the whipped mixture will deflate. refrigerate at least ovenight. next day in the morning if its for dinner, melt 3 big bars of galaxy milk chocolate theone we get in 3 's for AED 10 (u can use any of ur own flavor and choice too). I melted them with some milk say about half a cup in the microwave same like making ganache. let the sauce cool a bit and pour it over the cheese mixture. Again the measurement is very accurate so DONT TRY TO EAT THIS OK!!! u can lick the bowls later. Let them sit tin the fridge. it'l be firm after cooling but will not offer much of a resistance when u dig ur spoon in it. just before serving, place a cherry (with its stick on ) in the center. And serve . Be ready to be on cloud nine when u hear all the compliments. All the Best. Ya will try let u know about the lemon possett too. once my reasearch is over for the perfect tried and tested recipe. EDITED TO MENTION ABOUT THE SUGAR. edited by naiyyar on 07/06/2012

TBH I really do not like it when English speakers make fun of others who can not speak English as a native does. It really grinds on me the audacity of some expats in this respect. However, recently i saw a very serious note sent out by a company stating that "All accounts overdue will be constipated". LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!!! This thread is such a stress reliever. also good for learning the correct usage. This is the beauty of a language it adapts and evolves so well.
