I wonder how the whole case will pan out in general. So far they have somehow managed to show the face of the witness on the stand (when not doing so was part of the TV agreement) and given out the phone number of another witness ( Who has since received threatening calls/messages). It all seems a bit of a farce with the potential of it all going wrong once the loose cannon cop takes the stand. I can not imagine this kind of thing happening in the UK courts. The judge will have prob demanded a retrial! Whatever the outcome a life is lost, a family have lost a loved one and his life is ruined forever, unless he did it intentionally, gets away with it and gets on with normal life. If this is the case he is a v good actor.

Ahmed villas are managed by dubai real estate company (DREC) you can contact them and they can tell you if or when any will be free. Or drive to each compound and ask the maintenance guys if any are empty or will be, they often know. They might be able to help.

Indigo is on slip road of sz road by safa park. Next to just kidding. Lovely shop.. They have a website with prices so you can seeif it's what you want and what you want to pay. The kids furniture is same as the stuff sold by feather and black in the uk. White wood or oak, really nice. But not cheap.

Have you thought of having something made to copy PBK? I am sure som e people have had things copied and been v happy with them. Also depends on where u might end up living. If UK for example I don't think you could get a shop bought mattress in US size so would need to get one made. Big cost. Indigo living have some great beds for kids, with matching bits. They often have 25% off.

Just been listening to Dubai Eye. They said the cyclists will be staggered at the start and that each road/section will prob be closed for 3 hours. Actual race seems to start at 12-25 according to the website Lally posted. Starts at Trade centre. I heard it should finish at 4-30? I know Jumeirah Islands is closed for 2 hours between 2-4. I agree that people should have been told about this more than 48 hours before the event. We all knew it was coming but personally had no idea route etc. During 2012 Olympics signs were left along the cycling route saying this road will be closed on x date between x-y hours months in advance so people knew what to expect..

Often buy box of ice lollies for car washers in Spinneys when its hot.. With parking tickets, just check if it says not transferable on it. If it does look around before you hand over/take one! I know in UK this is what they say. Also make tea for street cleaners on occasion. They often ask for multiple sugars! My old gardener took 5!

We are the same, airport capsule stopped working yesterday morning and Etisalat were less than helpful on the phone. DH has plugged Router in that they gave us and we are back on line. DH added a post to the Apple help board and a few other people were having issues with Etisalat connection. He is out but will be interesting to see if anyone has replied with an answer.

Yup..nice big tins. Think they were 59 dhs. Altho, from experience not all the "old" chocs are in there. Not sure if its a UAE thing (maybe they contained pork gelatine?) or if same in the UK. But selection is limited. Same with Quality Street. Still nice tho.

One thing to add, if you are not visiting people.. Christmas Day everything will be closed so make sure you pre book something for lunch/dinner. Altho London will be super quiet on Xmas day and a great day to Walk around and see the lights etc. public transport stops by 10pm Xmas eve so be aware, altho with small people I am sure you will not be out too late. Amazing time of year, worked in central London for years and never tired of walking out of work to the lights and hustle and bustle of people with loads of shopping bags!! Shops will be pretty busy on he run up too..be warned if you plan on doing lots of shopping.

The old Safa school building is a school. No idea if its special needs or mainstream. I saw a sign on wall yest saying British Curriculum registration open. What about the new Kings school Nad al Sheba. No idea when it might open but think its going FS to senior? Someone was looking at the DESS to DESC move and it was suggested that they call they school. Have you tried any schools to see what the wait list is for years already started? You never know. Good luck..

In NY. I was at a team meeting in Times Square, 30th floor. Saw on tv and from the windows it all unfold. My team and I left x sq and walked towards a colleagues apt on 14th. By the time we got there the 1st tower was down and people were heading towards us covered in dust. Ny was eerie and we were next to st Vincent's hospital. So many ambulances were leaving and none were coming back. I was in NYC for a week after waiting for flights to resume and space to available. A day I will never forget. When I wake up in the morning I will have an e mail.. It will be from a colleague in nz who was with us, it will be to all the team. An update on his and his families lives. Each team member will add their update on the last 12 months when they wake. We are in Singapore, Tokyo, here, Geneva London and NYC. I look forward to my annual e mail.. Salsb I am the same.. I can even tell you what I was wearing, but last week forget it!! On a lighter note, whilst in the uk I was listening to the radio and it was an interview with authors at Edinburgh festival. One author had written a book about the summer of '76 in the uk. For those who were too young/not born it was a hot one, heatwave, drought..everyone remembers it. When she was writing he book she would tell random people what she was doing. Everyone she told had a memory of that summer. One lady on a bus announced she had an affair with her next door neighbour in the summer of 76!! There are certain moments in time forever in our heads, for whatever reason, good or bad..

Yes. It's free but ticket only. Register at guest services. Only 15 or so kids per session I think. Think no tickets left til end June beg July tho. 2 age groups, up to 2-4 and 5-11. It looked good, digging then building for big ones and face painting and drawing and play in the sand pit for smaller ones. Big TV screen with bean bags and some video of dinos plus dino train.

I was also looking a few weeks back.. Most party shops have a pirate section with various bits and pieces. Altho you might need to try a few for all you want. One on Um Suqueim has bits as does one at Beach centre (blue mall past Mercato). Tavola by Spinneys Mercato has a cake mould with full instructions on making a ship cake.. Looks good but tricky. Bloomies didn't have any cup cake cases a few weeks ago when I looked..

Search on here for schools threads there are so many, you are not alone in your plight. I think Kings open a new school in Sept in Nad al Sheba that will be both Prim and secondary. Not sure yet if full I think you register an interest? Repton also opening a new one altho high costs.. Foremark? By July places may be avail due to people not yet accepting places (may have been offered more than one school etc) and people leave once school ends so spaces maybe avail. Maybe contact schools and ask if each year they offer places post July due to leavers etc. Might give you an idea of chances..

One of my hates on the road here. You indicate to let people know you want to move and they speed up so to move across becomes dangerous. Worst is when your lane is about to end and no one wants to let you in..

I travelled with a buzz, does yours stay shut securely? I had the experience where baggage people accidentally opened it and were then unable to close as they didnt know how, so take something to keep it closed with-a belt etc. also does yours have a bar across the front? Mine was broken so I would take that off. There is no harm asking at plane door if you can have it in the plane not hold, altho unlikely as they are bulky. I was super fortunate on a flight but advised next time bring something smaller. Then when we got to lhr (on ba) we had to get a bus to terminal so I had lo, bags and collapsed pram, I was solo!!

There is a great shop in Beach Plaza (I think thats the name-its on Beach Road and is blue building with Burger King on ground floor).. Past Mercato on beach rd towards flag pole. They have so much stuff-full costumes plus individual accessories. Its on the ground floor. Not sure it has a name! You can't miss it. Am sure they will have something. For nets look at the small shops on beach road that have beach toys hanging outside-they will prob have a small fishing net?? Good luck.

The Meydan Bike track has a road that cars can use that runs parallel to the 44 Al Khail Road and this would give you a decent view. I have no idea if it will be closed this eve but if open could be a great place to park up. There is something going on there as I saw a few portaloos and chairs but assume this was tickets only and was inside a fence. You go into Bike track from road to Meydan and turn left once in..
