Not sure as I didn't know the area before.. This has some info. http://www.dubaifaqs.com/cycling-in-dubai.php To get there from the al khail road..come off at the junction for the 69 which is safa, al wasl, and nad al Sheba and meydan. Head for meydan, you will see a park with baseball fields on the right. At the 1st roundabout take the 3rd exit, you will see a small sign-at the moment there is a sign advertising a race in dec.. Follow this road to the car park and it has maps. HTH

There's one by the meydan. Between meydan and sz road, entrance is from the 69 road, one of the roundabouts has a small sign to show entrance. Has about 4 distances, 4,6 and 8k Laps. Plus a kids track. Floodlit as well.

The tree/bushes are only grown in a small area of S Africa I think. I saw a BBC news piece a while back saying the bushes were under threat or poss a bad harvest-cant recall-but they were saying cost might go up because of this. Might be reason why not as avail as it used to be? I think its v high in antioxidants and caffeine free. But know v little apart from that. Used to love it, not had any in along time! Its also marketed as Redbush in the UK.

A while ago I heard an interview on Dubai eye with a man who worked for recycled paper co. he said UAE are way behind but that some recycling is carried out here but lots is shipped overseas and bought back as recycled paper. Back home in the UK I think a lot of recycling is all thrown together and separated at the recycle plant. I this this is possibly common place due to mixtures and non recyclables in one bin. This is poss what people have heard. Also isn't there a recycle plant on the road to Fujairah? Past cement factory on the left? Altho having a plant doesn't mean it's done!

Agree with the gym, might be hard at 1st to motivate yourself but with luck you will get into it and feel so much better. If you are on facebook look at the purely 4 you page. They run various classes in the tower above Lime tree in Media City and are really lovely girls. They will make you welcome and I think some might then head to Lime tree after for a coffee. I lost my mum some years ago and it is a lonely and tough time but it will get better I promise.

Not sure if its across the board or which airports this applies to but BA now offer a delivery to door option on buggy's. I used this when returning this summer, I was advised it was a new service they offer. Waited a while at the door but they were all delivered safely.

what about "Downtown" Or Burj Views? They would be nearer the old Met hotel. Easy access to Dubai Mall/Address/Souk al Bahar Nice pools and some walkways etc. Traffic can be bad eves espec Friday. Al Manzil has a small Souk with Spinneys if needed

I think they have to tax you if you don't have the non resident doc from from hmrc. Is is what my agents advised me when I let my property.

Might be worth talking to a tax accountant as you will be moving in the middle of a tax year. You may well be liable to tax on non UK earnings. To be exempt from tax you need to be a non res through a whole tax year. But I am not sure if this is the same for earnings pre becoming a resident. Its def worth getting sound advice. Once you start working you get a tax code and then become liable.

What I think you need to do is ensure HMRC know you are a non resident. There is a form you complete and return to them. It is prob on their website and can be downloaded. Any earnings from here are non taxable, tax would be paid on any interest (of which currently is almost 0!) earned on money you have in bank accounts etc in the UK. However, you still get the tax allowance so you potentially wont owe tax. I pay tax on my property rental income only. HTH.

The Safety 1st one I have extends to 106.7 cms and can be pressure and hardware mounted-its all grey plastic so no bars like the Ikea one. This one was never used due to our skirting causing install issues. The Ikea one when I measure is 86cm but my instructions say it goes to 93cm. I also have a block of wood you can use to slot in doorway. Let me know if you want to take a look. I will check back in after 12.

I also have a saftey 1st one that will fit but poss needs drilling. Info is in ds bedroom who is sleeping. Can look tomorrow. We tried the gate over door but have since removed it, it will get better!! Seems impossible to imagine I know.

HI, I grew up in that area.. I would def live nearby and not live in central London. Chiswick is really nice, altho can be expensive. It has lots to do and great transport into London when you want to head into the big smoke. Depends on budget and where in Brentford the office is located. B'Ford has a main railway line so if near there then you would be 5-10 mins from Isleworth, Kew, Chiswick, Barnes or even Putney..There are lots of buses as well but no tube line. Brentford also has some great new developments of apartments on the riverside and Dock. Isleworth would be cheaper but I would say its more of a family area and has less to do.Richmond is also great but again expensive. You can take a bus from Richmond to Brantford. If you get a chance go and take a look around. Look on find a property website and see what is avail in your budget. Personally I would take furniture with me. There is lots on offer in the UK but not always cheap, sometimes wait times and nearest Ikea is a yuk drive and Queues always v long! HTH.

Also remember silver jubilee street party, dressed myself that day.. oh dear, red white blue stripes socks, skirt and jumper and navy anorak. Loved the 70's-I was 10-should have known better really.

It is hard at 1st but you will make friends. I was like you a few years ago but have some great friends now and kids are also best buddies. Summer is coming so many things will stop but look for swimming classes either at Meadows or Lakes club after summer. I made some great friends there. Also if you like exercise google Pure Fitness UAE, they run mums n tots fitness classes, everyone is so nice and often head for coffee after. Look at the expat woman mornings with play. Less formal. Think there is one on Sundays at Ibn, you get to have a play and coffee & cake and meet other mummies too. Another one at Mirdiff. Info is on this website. Try Boogie Babies as well.
