Please help, just moved houses, i DO NOT want any of the rubbish tv packages here, don't want to rely on sling box and you are my last port of call as I can't find this info anywhere. I searhed for a number you posted about a guy that installs sky. I can't find it, then I saw your post about your message being deleted by admins. Doh!! If you still have his number, please share, or if its not allowed here (although why its not is beyond me, perfectly legal) please let me know and I'll paste in my email address. Mr Mike is who I'm after ;) edited by N.Kaye on 19/08/2011

No I SWEAR a few months ago someone posted they have sky+ legally by a bloke called either mathew, Marcus, mark, Michael - pinching myself for not writing it down. Darn it.

Ahh thanks so much for this. Mmmmm got a bit excited with the 'villa appt' thinking they would have own enterance. I guess if you still have to park and ride up from the basement in the lift, it doesn't matter what floor you choose. Ok.....going to ask a really stupid question - but how do you manage bringing up your weekly shopping?? Many trips to the basement and back? Any of you do this with a baby? edited by N.Kaye on 11/07/2011

Just a few random questions :- I heard some of the appartment blocks have what was described as 'villas' in the ground floor. Any info on this, I'm guessing this means just direct entrance. If so, which buildings have these? Are there any issues with 'whiffs' coming in from neighbours cooking through the vents? And parking......what's the deal/solution if you have two cars? Am I correct to understand that most apartments come with only one car park. Any other general opinions welcome :D

I was a member at Good Vibes in Covent Garden (the original power plate only gym) and I used to do it 20 mins 3 times a week. My legs were rock hard by week 4. So yep - go for it. You won't lose weight and I guess maybe not even inches but you do feel toned for sure :)

A rancher - I have that nursing cover, it's a life saver here and on the plane. It's great because I can peek a boo and see baby, baby can see me, but nobody else sees anything. But your idea is brill, mine is dark brown, could easily get some 'evening wear' covers made hahaha. Fatimanoor - she is away in London for 4 weeks but if you give me your email I'll send you her mobile number and you can contact her directly.

Same dilemma here :s interesting thread. We use very little of our accomadtion allowance and this was so we could buy something in cash by end of this year. We're viewing to buy now because for us it makes financial sense for our circumstance. But at the same time, We get very confused and just this morning we decided not to buy, by dinner it will ''yes lets buy'' and by breakfast it'll be a ''lets not'' again. Get an opinion from a pro, and see what suits you. We are viewing 17 properties between now and Sunday. It'll make things much clear.

Hi..how much did you want to spend roughly?? Asking because there is a boutique here and the lady makes what you want chosen from a selection of pics. They are priced between 500 and 1000dh. Post your email if you like BUT I must warn you and say that my order arrives in 2 weeks so this isn't a recommendation (yet). For material - sorry not much help other than I've seen lots of material shops in and around meena bazaar. Oo sorry no directions - just taxi but you can't miss it but you have to search and search and search to find what you need. I needed a wholesaler for just under a 1000 pieces of linen so our searches will probably be different. I've never bought cotton for 2dh wow ...... The cheapest per meter (sorry I still do meter) has been 10dh and I specify non chinese cloth. It's just that Japanese cloth and Pakistani cotton seem to be a lot superioir. But that's just my opinion or maybe I'm rubbish at buying ;) edited by N.Kaye on 05/07/2011

I've found child care expensive but just wanted to give you my two pence on renting. Our accommodation allowance was 250 but we negotiatied right down to 90 (to get the rest as cash) and we live in a large 3 bed plus maids room (which I use as a room) for 90. It's all about where you live, you'd probably need to look in Mirdiff (I love midriff btw and would move there easily) and you can get something lovely for much lower than 120. :) edited by N.Kaye on 05/07/2011

My agent has found something I like but would only consider it if I can rip out one of the bathrooms and extend the lounge out into the garden. Has anybody gone through this process recently?? Was it difficult getting approval from emaar?? Ta

I think you will find either the textile markets in Bur Dubai and Deira or Satwa-or even a trip to DragonMart way cheaper than any shopping mall sales-these places don't have sales buy you can bargain as hard as you like and the price will be much lower Wuffles- you seem to be the lady in know- where are the textile souks in bur Dubai and deira? OMG! I got a text saying they have their sale etc etc I went there (no easy journey with as reaming baby) and couldn't see the sale. So I asked the sales person there - he laughed and pointed to a round table with some random bed linen on sale. Outrageous! What a cheap sales tactic Errrrr Worked though lol I did end up buying lots of non sale items! Da,n it!

There is a tiny little pocket (for mobile phone I guess) that could work for keys. I'm not sure which one you wanted but mine had a smaller version that I bought with it. So I have the small one as my handbag, it's tiny and the nappy bag goes under the pram (got it from John Lewis back home).

Yeah I love the beach and the pools too.....thanks for your opinion. Mmmm need to stop a local next time I see 'that' abaya and just be brave and ask them where to get it from. It's uber trendy and plain and for me, what I like is the length. will hold off on Abu hail until I know where to get one from. But see you at the ladies club though......you game for a squash match?? <- should keep me trap shut.....I am very rusty, off to warm up lol. edited by N.Kaye on 15/06/2011

You won't be able to find the Weightwatchers app unless your iTunes account is registered either with a UK or US address and cc. But as below......the app is free and worth it as that's all you need. Hey izzy... Did a search on this forum for reviews on Dubai ladies club and you seem to be a member. Just wanted your review as I only know others, who like me, just do the day pass thingy bob. I wanted to join so got the membership info....gulp! Was something like 10,000. I'll pay if it's worth it......what's your opinion. It's heads/tail between DLC and Inshape for me as both in the right area and have full on classes :) While I'm at it.........any ideas where I can get a short abaya from? You know the ones that look like a bananna :s like kinda open but loose and with a kind of half hoop as a hem?? Someone told me to go to Abu hail and I ventured there (finally found it) and while it was an amazing abaya wonderland I got completely lost in the stores ;) Thanks for your help....still new here edited by N.Kaye on 15/06/2011

Hmmm tricky answer - felt like a rushed number for all my appointments before the birth but on the actualy 'birth day' I felt like a princess.....no...queen......yes really. Those midwives and nurses,I tell you, should be made into royalty. I felt like I was the only woman giving birth, they couldn't have given me more care, attention or time even if they tried. So makes my answer abit wish washy I guess....sorry :s My prenatal appointment and follow up with Dr Raj were rushed and i always felt stressed afterwards as I never felt I could ask any questions. Had it not been my first time, I probably should have had the confidence to change to one of the dr's at AH.

Aww this sounds like me with my baby she's now 16 weeks old. My first 4 weeks of ebf were so hard and I felt crazy reading everything and anything to figure it out. But before I continue - keep at it, bf is now a dream, just 12 weeks on and it gets easy as pie. Hang in there. Ok so my baby was born 4 weeks early and just could not latch on in the positions you see/are told about. So what I did (after trial and error) was bought a nursing pillow from Mothercare in Mirdiff CC. I chose a comfy chair and brought her in tight to me. Then I 'very literally' held her head in position with one hand and with the other (same side to the breast she was feeding from) held the boob in position. Hard? yes, tiering? Most definatly, but worth it. And you won't be doing it for long....3 weeks maybe 4 because they get stronger and stronger so quickly. She also didn't feed long at all, seriously her feeding sessions were like 10 mins every 2 hours and I was going mad with worry. So after I fed her I would pump.....yep, every two hours after every feed. I have a great electrical pump and it worked wonders. I had a nice supply building up in the fridge and they were a life saver when going out. I used the milk in tomee tippe closer to nature 5oz bottles. Roll on a few weeks later and my feeding sessions are 40 mins long, she's putting on weight nicely and all that worry and stress of milk supply, feeding and latching on are distant memory. So in summery - relax a little, pump regularly and with time your little one is going to surprise you :) Good luck x

Freestyle let's you clip the 'pump' to your waist and do whatever you want to as you can walk about. It's tiny and light and quite frankly the best money I spent . Think it was 1500 from baby shop. I clip it on, and get on with things, 15 mins later I'm free :) (I bought a pump bra too from amazon but it does come with straps that let you clip the bottle onto your nursing bra....I just found the pump bra easier to put on) Good luck

Love AH it was brill and also speak highly of Dr George - he is very gentle and respectful an all round decent guy. On the other hand I had dr raj and I would never ever in a million years recommend dr raj after my experience with her. Lots of opinions and as you can see here you have both opinions. All depends :D
