As per my understanding, you only need to sterilize for the first 3 months. After that, it's not needed.

Looking at your nick, you're already a mum. But wouldn't it be better to do such a thing after you're done with having children? but where will babies be able to grow in a tummy overcrowded with fat :( Ehm.. In your uterus? :-)

Don't believe everything read in newspapers as embellished and not accurately portrayed...surely there are lift problems in many high rises throughout the world! We were the first tenants in an apartment in a brand new tower and for the first 6 months we had the maintenance team over at least a couple of times every week. Not exagerated. It's quite simple really.. The construction of buildings here is not a high standard and you will always face child diseases.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2343003/The-height-annoyance-Millionaire-homeowners-worlds-tallest-block-flats-forced-walk-97-floors-lift-breaks-down.html I would avoid all new projects for the first 6-12 months, until they get things figured out.

I'm starting to get REALLY annoyed. Have to re-enter those codes over and over again. Can't you save the 'safe' IP-addresses to avoid having to re-enter? Imagine the companies who paid money to advertise on this site. Whoosh.. There goes a big part of your exposure.

Hello ladies! Piggle, congrats on the great results! You're only getting stronger and stronger! I would like to update you on my knee and ankle pain: I decided to stop working out until all of the pain would completely dissapear. This took me 4 or 5 days. Plus, I bought cross trainers. This worked for me as I have restarted Insanity a week ago without any pain! Yay! :-) Good luck ladies!

Dear OS, Sending you lots of positivity. Don't hold on to him, keep your dignity. Try to invest all of your time and energy in your son and yourself. Make yourself happy, although it's sounds like a big challenge at this time. Get positive energy from your family (did you inform them already?) and friends. Don't question yourself. As a wise lady on this forum once said: 'emotionally divorce your DH and marry yourself'. It might show him what he will miss out on. If not, then it's his loss, really. Move on, for the time being. And who knows what the future will bring you! Lots of luck!

Nice city, developing fast. Jordan is a beautiful country. Just try to negotiate a good salary as living expenses are high. Good luck! Notnewintown, which costs in particular did you find high? The information we've seen online thus far suggested it was much cheaper, so I was to be certain we're prepared. Thanks! Well, if you get a 'Jordanian salary' you will find that everything is expensive.. Housing in a decent location, groceries, dining out. But if you get a Dubai salary, then you will be fine.

Ya I thought it is a bit dark too. I like more sunlight but didn't't find any other opportunity for now. . There seems to be a big demand and an accommodation crisis this year. Lots of expats came in 2013... Thank u for the info. I hope it will be a good year there without any negative experience. Do u know of anything which is considered as a negative point?? Not really. Apart from the occasional things breaking down, but that's solved quickly by the maintenance team. I loved the laundry service inside the building. Oh, had only a negative experience with the cleaners. They ate our food, as we found out later. So we had to bring in a cleaner from outside. But that's years ago, could be they improved their service. Good luck!

Hi! The swimming pool and facilities are nice, it's close to City Centre Mall. The apartments are comfortable, although I found them a bit on the dark side due to the tinted windows. But overall, a good building.

After living in Dubai, I moved to Doha. What a shock that was. Spent 2,5 years being unhappy and miserable. Luckily we were able to move back to Dubai. Ladies who are unhappy and 'stuck' in Doha: I feel your pain. Life is precious, don't waste too much time in a place that's bad for you. Sending you positive vibes.

Hi Piggle! Congrats on finishing week 1!! Well done! I found week 1 the hardest.. It's like a train hits you :-) Keep on going! From now on it will get easier (until you start month 2, so I have been told ;-). Thanks for asking. I'm using a carpet now, hopefully that will make a difference. But I have to admit I'm taking a Panadol now and then, just to numb the pain in the evening. When I did a search for 'knee and ankle pain' on the teambeachbody website, I found I'm not the only one suffering from the same. Proves that Insanity is really a tough program!

I think you really need to have a new sim, as what you have now is a micro sim (most probably). Go to your nearest du or Etisalat shop (in any mall for example) and let them check out what you have. And whilst you're there, let them talk you through the various data bundles they have. I know that a pay as you go plan is always more expensive than a monthly data bundle.

Thank you all. This has been very helpful. I have a very basic phone at the moment with Etisalat sim. Could I use this in an iPhone or Samsung. What is the souq like for getting these types of things. Or do I need a certain sim if I am to use the internet on my phone? I'm not sure about the Samsng. But if you'd like an iPhone, you definitely need a new sim, a nano sim.

Just remember that when you buy an iphone from du or Etisalat, it will be operator tweaked. So you won't be able to use FaceTime for example.

NNIT thanks for your response - thats what I gave as she cannot take anything orally. I do agree it wont hurt and its a phase but is it acceptable every night until her teeth come through ...........? I had Adol drops. Pink stuff. But whatever works for your child, go for it. I didn't give it every night, only when my child was in pain and couldn't sleep. Don't worry about this. I would worry more about the bad air they breathe here in Dubai. Puts things in perspective ;-)

I gave mine Adol whenever necessary. It's a phase and you won't hurt your child when you give it pain relief when it's hurting from teething.

I watched my mum make herself the victim. I watched the marriage end. I watched her go on in life as the victim. And people don't feel sorry for the victim forever. They start to get frustrated with the victim and the victimizer becomes the hero. I do have to do this to a certain degree as when two cultures marry, you marry the good and the bad. And very one knows the bad habits of their own culture but another's can be a smack in the face. And when I got that reality check, I made a choice. I think we face this at many stages in life. I have a special needs child and we are put in the victim or hero path OFTEN and will be until more awareness exists, or, as in OPs position, laws are enacted or enforced to protect or change it. I chose to be a hero. I'm not a hero everyday and you will continue to get knocked down, but each time you get stronger. That is why YOU are so important in this equation. YaoU have to build YOUTSELF, so when you do get knocked down, in those few monutes/hours/days til you're a hero again, you like the person youre sitting with, as she is all you have. You sound like a strong person, AmyAus82. Bless you. Thanks for answering my question.

If your husband paints a picture you do not like, leave him alone with his paint brush and begin to paint your own. You may want to invite him in one day. And I is easier to do that when you have remained his wife not his enemy, and have built your own world with its own rules and he sees that and asks to come in himself. Spot on, AmyAus82. If you don't mind me asking... Are you talking from experience?

Feefmick, I know for sure you will get through this. But for now, you're being pushed to get back in the driver seat (see it as a blessing in disguise). Make your own decisions. Do what is best for you and your daughters. It might be scary, lonely, etc. But it seems you're lonely too now, not having a husband to help you out. Trust me, when you will be back in control, your life will be much easier. Stop picking up the pieces. This is not how a marriage should be. And I think that that is the root cause of most of the problems you're facing now. And it's very easy to blame it all on the husband, but take a look at yourself. Ask yourself: what is my part in this? Did I facilitate his behaviour perhaps? Etc. No need to punish yourself, as you must have done everything to keep the family together and be the great mom you are! Wishing you lots of strength!

Insanity is gruesome, but yet so addictive.. Piggle and SEY83: thanks for the tip! I will buy a thick mat. I think that will make a difference, as I'm working out on a tiled floor at the moment. Hello Insanity ladies! I'm about to complete the 2nd week. The first 5 days I had a lot of muscle pain, but thankfully that's over now. I have a question: since a few days my knees and ankles hurt a lot. Maybe due to the jumping? Does anyone of you have/had the same? If so, what can I do about it? I'm already wearing Nike crosstrainers.. Thx.

I would NEVER ever buy property in a country where I would never be able to hold the nationality of. Plus, the prices are inflated. An average apartment/townhouse in Dubai will set you back approx. AED 2,5 million. For way less money you'd be able to buy something very decent in Europe, where the quality is much, much higher. I'm not a fan of the real estate market here.
