I started excercising after my 6 week check, couldnt bear to look in the mirror. Went to the pure fitness classes around town where you take the bub with you and they stay in their stroller or on the soft play area whilst you excercise. Also can do buggy fit allover Dubai. Pure fitness ladies are all mums and none willintimidate you. Loved Tracey's zumba mumba class and the weight felloff.

Go to your favourite brekkie placeand order it to go and then head down the beach and enjoy having it all to yourself (assuming you're up early). Few hours by the sea, lunch with the girls,mani/pedi or massage, quick for something for yourself, sundowners and make it home for a quiet evening with DH. Enjoy!

Yes we bought a Vaio swing and slide set for 400aed and some large rubber mats. OK quality for our DD,bought it when she was 6months and changed the swing for a step 2 baby seat and now she is a year we have put the toddler seat backon the swing. We have it inside as i think it would disintegratein direct sunlight.

They had everything i needed on hand. I packed my own nightie (used the hospital gown except for guests arriving, why mess up your own) The sanitary towels were more industrious, theyhad the correct size baby nappies. Take your own toiletbag, baby clothes and bottles of water if you have a preference. Wish i had took my nusring pillow. Tookmy laptop as they have wifi for posting those first baby pics. One thing i do remember is asking for help as they left you alone otherwise and sometimes you just need an extra pair of hands.

Dont think we started lookingat hospitals till about 20 weeks and then it was only the ones that my then doctor had the rights to birth in.I had a virus in my 28th week and was admitted for a few days at a hospital and due to that experience choose the other my doctor had the rights to even though it was further away. My hospital for this baby is 40 mins away with no traffic so am waiting to see what the Saudi German hospital is like as i cant do that car ride again. Hospital said not to come because my contractions were too far apart and not regular, when i got there an hour later i was 6cm dilated and DD wasborn not long after. Am scared i will have this one on the road side!

Thermals! Am not joking. Wentfor xmas a few years ago and was almost crying from the pain in my ears! Jeans are the worst things to wear in cold weather. Ive been to Moscow in minus 20 and it felt worse in NY because of the humidity. Cashmere, wool, wicking fabrics to get rid of the moisture. Have fun, we sure did!

I gave birth at the AH and had a really good experience. Back home i would have been stuck on alabour ward with all and sundry but here in Dubai i had a nice private room with no interference from the staff unless i called for them. I saw a lactation consultant rightaway and was able to get a proper latch to start breastfeeding. I have no experience ofthe US system to compare it to though.

Legally they cannot claim the money back from you if it was their mistake, they can only ask. As for not giving you a reference,i doubt they would be that petty.

Do you empower the maid when you are at home to say NO and give instructions? If so then ask her to repeat back to you what the childrem do and say when she does. Could it be her tone or body language. Assertiveness has to be taught and not expected. If you dont then the next time a child asks for something they are not to have, let the maid tell the child NO and you re-enforce her so you are putting up a united front. Hopefully the children get the message that she is in charge when you are not around.

Best investment we bought was a maxi cosi footmuff for the car seat (fits most) My DD hated the pramsuit/jacket/hat/gloves etc and would go red faced and start crying immediately as she was too hot! (minus 16) So we just put her in her regular warm clothes and zipped her into her footmuff for the car and we had another footmuff for the pram but could use for both. Buy a small dressing gown as well as handy forcoming out the bath in cooler climes, also we used a 2.5 tog sleeping bag with a vest and a baby grow for sleeping. Have lots of winter fun!

Used the Annabel Karmel books for age specific recipes and ideas. I started DD at 6 months with 1 feed a day (1-10 spoonfuls) and by 7months was up to 3 meals aday (very small). My friend gave me the best advice though and that was to get them on to breakfast, lunch and dinner at the regular times. We fitted food/milk around the set nap times.

Used to work in a bridal shop whist at uni, great job but really hard work! Never ever finished on time but learned how to wrap up an appt and rebook very quickly. A customer should always be made to feel special regardless of circumstance but it seems like your server was lacking in these social skills. Yes i would be annoyed and quite rightly complain if i was made to feel unwelcome but be fair a wedding dress session lasts anything from1/3 hours and wanting to try dresses on 15/25mins before they shut was asking a bit much of the staff. Think choosing, explaining features, preparationof bride to be and room and then all the accessories that come with and finally putting it all away again. I am surprised they let you try any on at all as i certainly wouldn't have, not to be mean but you wouldn't have got the full experience that you deserve. Why rush it and be disappointed. I would have talked youthrough the collections and rebooked at your convience, although i understand this wasnt anoption for you. Please rethink not going back to a highly reputed establishment when yes they are at fault of very poor customer service but also think about your reasons for pushing them into trying on dresses right before they closed. It was never going to be a win/win situation.

Also worked for EK when this was brought in. Think it was more to do with single ladies involved in an ancident and hospital asking what medication if any had been taken. IE if single why would you need contraception unless you had a pre exsisting condition on record and a valid prescription. Married ladies do have to provide EK with a letter for the prescription. Yes you can buy it over the counter but what are the legal reprecussions for theabove scenario?

This is my 2nd, already have DD 13months and now 9weeks with D? The morning/all day sickness is driving me bonkers and i have noticed i have much less energy too. Gone are the days when i felt like a nap i could indulge! Got my first appt next week to makesure it has a hearbeat etc. Cant wait to 12 weeks to start exsercising again, that really helped with the sickness last time.

Think the higher altitude will work your already working hard body that little bit more than you expec tbut from a physical point of veiw that should be fine.I would be more concerned that being remote with minimal health care facilities around. I know there is nothing theycan do to stop a m/c if god forbid it happened it would be the repair work i would be worried about.

If everything is going good with your pregnancy, thank god and long may it continue. If the check up was just routine and wasn't to answer any major concerns then leave it till your next. I would hate to think that i caused a fuss over an apt when someone who is in real need (IE emergency) needed that apt and i took it only to make me feel better. It is disappointing when you have looked forward to something so much but if its not critical then a few more weeks wont hurt long term. Having said that i agree with a previous post where we are paying for an expensive service and do expect a certain level of service but this service is one where it is based on priority not emotions. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and delivery.

DD is now 1 and hates to sleep in her pram, recently on vacation she had to learn the hard way to suck it up. Webought a snooze shade and kept her up until she got really cranky and then hugged her and placed her in her pram with a cuddly toy. The first few days she screamed for 10/15mins and then passed out and by the 3rd day was sucking her thumb as she was putdown. Wouldnt sleep as long in her pram but we did manage to have a really good holiday.

Used this at 4/5months and was perfect but when DD got to 9/10months she would topple the thing over very easily (couldnt stand) so we had towedge it beween a wall and a chair. Iput mine in the washing machine (it a big one) and it came out OK. Wouldnt but 2nd hand if well used like mine as the velcro startsto go after a while.
