Hi dibdab! I am a trained make-up artist and have worked for Dior and Guerlain previously....first thing is first....DO NOT SLEEP IN YOUR MAKE UP!! If you are only going to cleanse, tone and moisterize once a day you must do it in the evening before you go to bed. Whilst you sleep your skin goes into recovery mode and it can't do that if you have make-up on. As for spending a fortune on skincare it isn't necessary. You are lucky to have great skin! I also have good skin, however, I can't say if it is because of luck or because I have used good products from a young age, working in the industry has it's perks! All I can say is when I have stopped using the more expensive products in the past and gone to cheaper ones I definitely notice a difference! I would say the most important thing to spend money on is your cleanser and toner, and you don't have to spend loads. My personal favourite is Clarins...I wouldn't advise Clinique (its like paint stripper!) Personally I go by the saying 'prevention is better than cure' so if you can afford to get a good moisturiser then it is worth it as you will be preventing the wrinkles from forming which is much easier than trying to get rid of them....no cream will do that, only plastic surgery!

Whats next is a laser procedure by a company in South American that can change brown eyes to blue or green. Only risk is blindness! People still go ahead and do it and the results I must admit are really nice. I saw it on a talk show quite a while ago. http://www.stromamedical.com/ That is crazy!! I would love to have green or blue eyes...but that is what coloured contact lenses are for surely!? I would never risk going blind for 'beauty'

I have a lovely glass vase from The One which I am going to sell as we are leaving Dubai soon and it isn't something I will take with me...not sure how tall it is but can measure it if you are interested?

I would be too scared to do anything like that! For me false lashes and a good mascara is enough! Very interesting though....what will they think of next!

We took our guests a couple of weeks ago, however we decided to play safe and go on a Thursday rather than the weekend. It was a really good day out, hardly any queues, the staff were great and so were the rides! I would definitely reccommend it! Enjoy!

I know that there is a garage sale in Arabian Ranches on Friday (1st March) from 10am...it is a british family and they are leaving Dubai so you are bound to pick up some household items there for a good price! Check out the advert in the classifieds section. Good luck!

Can I add another angle to this thread... who will admit to using the toilet in view of their partner? There's a scene of this happening in "The Change Up" (very funny film btw) when she doesn't close the door. But worse when house viewing in London we saw a **few** houses where there was a toilet in the master bedroom. No walls or curtains tracks... just slap bang in full view of the bed. Is there a trend going on I know nothing about? Traumatising to the eyes, ears and nose I'd have thought! Esp if the person has stripped prior! I will go to the toilet and not close the door and so does my partner. Obviously we don't say.."I'm going to the loo, fancy coming to watch?" but we are comfortable enough with each other to leave the door open and not be embarressed if we walk in on each other! We only have one bathroom so if I am in the shower/bath and he needs to go it isn't an issue and vice versa!

Well after all of these comments, I am the only one having 'weird' habits, apparently. All of that, just because we are clean. Wow. I cannot imagine sharing a toilet with other families, we don't even share with each other! lol you need to get off your high horse a little bit. Your children definitely learnt this from some adult at home, because no child I know spontaneously decided to shower after a no2. If you havent expressly asked this of them then you need to realise that they are picking up some seriously OCD habits from you. This isnt called 'just being clean' this is a disorder that can hamper a normal way of life that they are inheriting from you. Dont take offence, perhaps you can recognise that you are one of the only ones that are scrubbing to this degree and its NOT normal or neccessary. If I were you I'd take this as a parenting red flag and scale back a bit. edited by Dubai-Mum on 21/02/2013 Well said Dubai-Mum! Couldn't agree more!

Well ladies, reading this has had me crying with laughter! Best bit has to be showering after going to the toilet! From experience, please encourage your children to go for a number 2 as and when they feel the need regardless of whether there is a shower for them to use, it will only lead to health issues later in life if they aren't regular! I don't have children....yet....but I am with the 'most nights' group! I wouldn't want my children to smell but I also wouldn't want them to be OCD about being clean and smelling of soap! I think if you wash the necessary areas every day, use deodrant and wear clean clothes then you shouldn't smell. As for discussing the smelly mother and her smelly daughter with your child, I think that is a bit wrong, it is almost encouraging bullying! Why would you even need to ask your child what the smelly parent's child is like?! Maybe you should have been an adult and pulled the lady to one side to let her know she was a bit whiffy! Sometimes people are literally immune to there own smell and you never know, she may have been horrified and changed her ways! Just do whatever suits your family life but think of the environment and don't make your kids OCD with cleanliness...a few germs are good for the immune system!

Nyranee you are completely right. I did consider having them in my room but was worried it would be too small for both of them. I'd much rather have them with me as I will miss them like crazy, but as you say even if i find foster carers for them until I get sorted as long as they are in the UK I can visit them as much as I like. Thanks so much! You have helped me see the light at the end of the tunnel!! :)
