Same here All tickets had the 'Buy Tickets Now' option on the screen by 9:00 am except of course the semi-finals and finals It became available by 9:03 but surprise they were sold out Been in Dubai since 10 years and always used to go watch the tennis Last 2-3 years same story with the online tickets Sold out by the time you want to put your CC details There is something fishy there sorry Those 2-3 minutes gives 'other' people the option to buy them and try sell them at different price They will not make money out of me TV should do this year too Good luck ladies

Just moved to a villa and I need a baby gate with a good width (over 95 cm) that most of the regular ones don't have I know Ikea sells them but it's quite a trip down there with my 2 little angles as DH travelling ...Anyone has one for sale in a closer location to me - The Lakes? Desperate to get one very fast as my 15 months old is obsessed with the stairs....

I'm sure Westin is great go for it if you need 2 bedrooms and it's available We stayed in Nusa Dua Resort and Spa in a Club Suite - one bedroom one living room and 3 nights in a different area in Bali in Semyniak in a 1 bed room villa Villas are called Space at Bali and they have 2 bedrooms as well You get your own butler who comes every morning and cooks your breakfast and makes your coffee In my oppinion Nusa Dua area is very simila to Dubai - great 5 star hotels and facilities but nothing of the local touch Semyniak was great full of great shops and restaurants but no beach on premises A combination of both was ideal for us and they are 35 minutes away from each other Choose what is right for your family and have a great vacation :)

My 2 1/2 DS is exactly the same these days!!!! He used to nap 2-3hours on a daily basis and since one week to doesn't go down anymore :( I put it down to him not being stimulated enough since it's vacation time from nursery plus a little more flexibility with his bed timings due to Christmas holiday Still hoping once back to nursery he'll be more tired as I desperately need his nap :) Here hoping they'll keep their nap for a little longer for our sanity.

I used the one in Ibn battuta next to Geant for both my children. The guy is really good and even if you hold the baby he can change the background as per requirements. Just wanted to mention that for under one year old the baby doesn't need to have the eyes opened for UK passport. Just did my DD passport in July.

If someone you know or offers here on EW can bring them from UK next few days Or maybe family or friends back in UK can pick up the forms from post office, scan/ take photo and send the attachment to you so you can see exact documents to prepare and once back in UK you just need to copy and fill the original forms HTH

Congratulations nappymom!!! Enjoy babbymoon! Hope the milk supply is still good and baby gaining weight nicely by now. My DD lost more than 10% first few days after birth but catching up again. Can we have the name of the baby for our July list? :) Plumie glad to hear BF is going really well. How is your DD1 behaving these days? It's nice to have a calmer baby 2nd time around. Same here. :) Can't believe DD just sleeps and eats so far. Makes it easier comparing to what I expected from previous experience with DS. My recovery this time was great as well. I don't know if it was the planned CS comparing with the ECS last time or that I took arnica (some people say it works some not) but after 2 weeks I feel almost back to normal. BF going great as well so I'm really pleased with our start. How are you feeling these days AmyAus? And how is everyone else? Hoping you're all well and healthy and looking forward to read more posts. Edited to ask for nappymum-baby name :) edited by pancakemum on 04/07/2012

I had bad wrist pain when DS was a few months old Saw a GP who prescribed Voltaren and I used a wrist band for a while Try blocking your wrists by putting more pressure on shoulders or elbows instead of wrists when handling the baby or other movements that would normally involve the wrists Hope it makes sense what I'm trying to say so late this evening... It's quite painful and makes our life as mums very hard Good luck ladies!

Must have been very hard for you :( I think many of us had a hard time when joining this groups. I found it very intimidating and honestly came home and cried couple of times. But I went back and met a few nice ladies. My DS was 7-8 months and I knew for sure that I want him to have a nice group of friends for his first birthday. Having no family or close friends that time I could have pictured him alone with his mummy only on his birthday and that gave me power to go back and try agan. In few months I have to go back and do the same for my DD and not really looking forward to it but I know it's worth doing it. I made a few steps and introduced myself. Some times it was a nice surprise and the ladies were very kind and the conversation flew instantly Paying a compliment to their babies is always a good conversation start If the group you join is very strong and they ignore you after a few minutes you can claim you need to change the baby, go for a small walk or to the bathroom and you can sit next to somebody else You'll find yourself at one point with a few mobile numbers and playdates for your baby. Good luck :) and remember we' all mums that need company for themselves and their little ones.

Hi ladies, Wishing everyone an easy June! Sympathy for the ones having major health issues. :( Almost 36 weeks and every day is getting harder and harder. Especially with the summer heat and a 2 year old to run after all day long. Bad sleep, heartburn, restless leg syndrome, elephant ankles and so on... Based on my previous history (ECS with DS and other issues) the date for the C-section is set for 20th June. Counting the days now but I bet I'll freak out closer to the date. The hospital bag is out already but inside only some snacks until I get the power look for the rest of the stuff. Keep well and post some more..

July looks like a very busy month!!! Hoping everyone keeps well! Third semester as well and counting the weeks until my mum gets here (to stay over summer with us yeiiiiiii!!!!!!!) Still on my own for one more month and my toddler drains all my energy! Sleep is not the greatest I get but since I have an uncomplicated pregnancy I just try to complain as little a possible. Well it works sometimes at least. Would be lovely to meet up with our July babies at some point To exchange useful tips and get to do something during the horrible summer days Keep us posted ladies

I feel for you :( You must be very tired and worried at the same time. IMO it's part of their growing up process I've spend at least 4-5 nights on the side of the bed when DS did this in his cot He was rolling on his tummy me rolling him back They learn soon to turn back or get their neck muscles strong enough to turn their head This phase will pass too

You made it so far so don't let anyone spoil your experience. With DS we waited until birth to find out as well and everyone was taking a guess. Don't worry once you have the baby they will tell you how to raise him, what's best for him etc... Learn from now on to smile and walk past them ignoring everything they say.

Had a great stay last weekend for my DH's birthday at the Banyan Tree Al Wadi the desert resort. Our 22 months DS was with us. Very relaxing, had our own pool, the Thai restaurant had amazing food. I'm pregnant as well so moving from our villa inside the resort by golf cart was great for me. Definitely recommend it. Did Jordan (from Amman till very south) when DS was 6 months. Was nice but I found it very expensive. Meals in the restaurants at the Dead Sea more expensive than Dubai and not the best service standards. Inside Petra you can pay for a horse and carriage to take you around and no need to walk. They rush you a bit so you can not get to see everything as extensive as you would normally do but there is a good option. It is something I always wanted to and glad I did it but it turned out as a very expensive vacation. Loved loved Lebanon and I would recommend it anytime if you' looking for options. If you need more details about any of the above experiences happy to reply. HTH

My DS loves the Little Einsteins series! Places to go around the world, things to do ... As well he loves Special Agent Oso, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. They have educational elements plus whenever he watches (limited time) I sit with him and explain him things, sing the songs, do their dance.. It helps us survive long flights to UK and back :)

Hi. Does anyone know where I can get a pretty good backpack carrier for a 6 month old...or does anyone have one I could borrow/rent for the first week in April? We are going to Brunei and hope to be doing some hiking in the jungle. We have a great pack for out 2 year old but we bought it in Canada. We have the Baby Bjorn but he is almost 8 kg's now and I think he will get pretty heavy on the front pretty fast. Any suggestions would be fantastic. Many of the ladies on EW recommended the Ergo carrier on previous threads You can do a search As well you can buy it from BabySouk on line I don't have it so you can borrow it from me unfortunately We carried our DS around Petra in Jordan at 7 months with the Baby Born and survived :) HTH

DH bought me a book by lucy atkins- first time parents. its about newborns and the essential things to buy rather than just splurging on. very nice book. currently reading that and getting myself prepared for the coming arrival :) have you checked at kinokuniya? they do have a decent selection. i remember one about toddlers and new borns but sorry can't remember the author or the title of the book. these pregnancy hormones!! Thanks That reminds me I need to go back to basics and start reading my baby books again I want to order some books about managing toddler and baby on amazon.uk but there are only 2 options - one is Gina Ford so was wondering if any of you can recommend a few more Kinokunyia is tempting but I need to find time to go by myself plus I can read some reviews if anything on Internet Other suggestions?

DS will be 2 when DD arrives and I want to make sure I get an important present 'from baby'. What is on my list now: - a bike or scooter ( if you think he is ready to try any of this may be the right time to get it); DS is ready for a big boy bike - anything related to his favourite character: big toy, stickers to put tem up on the wall in his room, books - a little garage with cars; DS is obsessed with cars and it's quite common at their age; I saw a little cute one in Borders marina mall from Little People; they always have toys that all children love to play with. Whatever you have in mind for him for his 2nd birthday may be worth getting it now as a present from his brother; for the birthday he will get enough presents anyway. Can't wait to hear what other ladies bought. Hope you find the perfect present :) edited by pancakemum on 13/03/2012

Thanks pingu I will take the pale yellow one if you're willing to swap. The blue ones look really cute I promise. Can we meet up? No hurry from my side whenever you can. I know buying a new one doesn't make sense and I wouldn't do it just the DD will wear so much blue and have everything from DS that somehow silly I wanted to get something just for her. I hope it makes sense to someone else as well if not I blame the hormones ;)
