Hi ladies :) How is everyone? I hope the 20 weeks scan goes smooth for everyone. Kiran welcome to the Pink Team! Wait until your husband holds that little girl and steals his heart forever:) Sourskittleash glad you joined the July group. Kicking in this stage is still pleasant and gives us a nice reassurance that bubba is ok. Had our scan on Saturday afternoon. Little stink had the legs crossed for 40 minutes. Luckily I saw the dr next day and a had another scan to give us the confirmation that is a little girl this time. I can finally believe it. Need to change blue for pink now... Keep us posted ladies!

All going well here and looking forward to meeting you all! Congratulations to all new joiners of July group!!! Hope everyone is well. With friends in and out of our place this pregnancy is going fast Don't have time to think about it almost at all which is good. 20 weeks scan soon and hoping to get the confirmation for the PINK team. Doctor seemed pretty sure last time but I keep having dreams about a scan when I am told that she was wrong...Fingers crossed No big kicks yet but he butterfly feeling is getting stronger by day. Soon there I'm sure. It is a lovely feeling. Tonsilitis ouchhhh Sorry plumie I hope both you and your DD get well soon. Listen to your dr about having them removed I had consecutive ones as well few years back and because I kept postponing my body got used with the medication I was taking Plus by the time I decided to take them out they were too damaged and local anesthesy didn't work very well Not fun in that stage I'm sure it's not your case

Thanks expatwoman for the support Hope all of you ladies can make it to the Green Nappy morning in February so we can exchange tips Gingercat I'm using the ecoballs from the organic shop and cafe If you are interested to get them wait until the third Saturday of next month/ any month and they 20 percent off I have the ones for 150 washes and didn't use the refills yet since May 2010 since they are in use Sometimes I add a little bit of Fairy non bio when my DS's socks are extra dirty but I just do the normal wash at 60 but I rinse the nappies very well after use before piling them. Glad everyone's 12 weeks scan goes well. Hope some of you get better sleep. Mine is not great but I keep thinking it's second semester and things may go downhill from here later on so trying to cope with it. I'm 17 weeks and the doctor didn't mentioned any percentage about how sure it is but really hope it gets confirmed next scan as now we are really excited Of course we know it doesn't really matter once the baby is in your arms but one boy and one girl sounds great on the paper plus the girls outfits are ever so cute!!!

Plumie hope the acupuncture will work for you to be able to enjoy a good night sleep. It's so important to have proper rest... Hope everyone else is fine as well. Let us know ladies. Had a dr appointment today and she offered do to a scan to check if blue or pink team and apparently is pink team this time. So so so happy about it! Already thinking how much blue she will wear from DS's wardrobe! Looking forward to meet the other mums.

Green-ish sooooo sorry for your loss! It's a terrible time for you and your family to loose the little angel. :( Don't beat yourself for telling people early. It was a reason to be happy when you found out and it deserved to be shared. And now suffering this terrible loss again people know and can give you the support and confort you deserve and need. Your children's questions must be hard to answer but you're doing the most important job in life - raising them and you teach them about life again that sometimes comes with sad news. It's nothing you could have done differently during these last weeks so never blame yourself for it. Lots of hugs coming your way! Take care of yourself! Xx

Congratulations to all newcomers! Hope everyone's 12 weeks scan goes well. Thanks plume for the tip with the Masafi water. I was feeling better during vacation and when I came back nausea started again slightly and didn't keep dinner down 2 consecutive evenings. Realized I drank Masafi water during those days and changed. Happy with my dinners again. I wouldn't have thought about water in a million years! I'm not working and keeping busy with a 20 months old so up for a meeting ladies as well. May be helpful to support each other especially during hot summer days stuck in Dubai with a newborn.

I got my waterproof bag from Uk from TotsBots. There was someone selling them in Dubai as well but from some comments a while ago I think he's not doing it anymore. I looked on their site for Dubai contacts and there is none unfortunately. Didn't look recently in Dubai for them. I don't use pail liners I just wash the bowl every time after emptying the nappies in the washing machine. Sorry can't help...

Congratulations gingercat on your purchase! I hope using the modern cloth nappies is going to be a pleasant experience as it is for me and so many other mums. I'm using washable flannels both for face and the bottom. I bought a few cotton towels and cut them in smaller squares. Of course I have them in different colors so everybody knows which one is for what. I don't find them rough especially after a dip in a water to clean my DS. Anyway dealing with a baby you'll be really gentle when cleaning. For wet nappies when out I use a drawstring bag as well, waterproof on one side. At home I pile them in a big plastic bowl in a corner of an unused balcony but I'm sure you can use a normal bin with a top if you store them inside. As long as the top closes well. Some ladies recommended putting on the bottom of the bin a few drops of green tea oil to help with the smell when opening the bin. But I haven't tried it. Fleece liners should be good as well. You'll figure out a system that works for you once you start using them. Since you opened the subject of the washable nappies the great news is that the expatwoman will support us in meeting up soon. Just waiting for their post. (sorry mods I couldn't help it) The event will be great for all of us to exchange impressions and compare experiences.

Happy New Year ladies! Hope everyone is fine! Great you're feeling better plumie! I'm feeling better as well Sickeness stopped at around 13 weeks and energy coming back Need loads of it for my 19 months DS! Still off some of my favorite pre-pregnancy food but somehow I feel like eating healthier options which is good. Can't believe I'm almost 15 weeks pregnant. Time flies faster this pregnancy with a toddler to look after. How is everyone else? Keep us posted ladies.

I second Green-ish It hardly takes 10 additional minutes to put the nappies in the washing machine, out on the laundy line in the sun and back on their shelf They dry so fast in Dubai as well Love the colors when they are all lined up Last Nappycino was like an year and a half ago hosted by txjuliet but unfortunately she just left Dubai We were just four ladies including the lady selling the Baby Cheeks that time We can try again ladies if anyone willing to meet up What about a park since weather is so nice Or a coffee shop Somewhere convenient for the majority Beginning of next year may be best

Hi gingercat Glad to hear you're thinking about using the modern cloth nappies! I've been using them on my DS for the last 18 months and I love using them I had the same worries about buying something and not being sure if I will like them or not After reading some reviews I decided to pick 2 brands that were highly recommended Bum Genius is one of them But I've ordered them in UK as they were in packs of 5 and the price was much lower than Dubai one To be on the safe side I've ordered only 10 to start with in total Bought one Baby Cheek so 11 in total Of course if I was happy using the nappies I would have ordered more I was and still am very happy but I manage with 11 of them only Bum Genius is my favorite to be honest Tot Bots is great as well Just for my son Baby Cheeks one is too bulky but that is just my subjective opinion I've met ladies using he Baby Cheeks and very happy with them So my advice either you start with a lower number with what is available in Dubai and see how you like using them Or if your mind is set in using them go ahead and order and have them brought over to you If you don't know any different you'll use them just fine I hope it makes sense what I'm saying as a little baby mush brain with the new pregnancy If you have any questions please go ahead and I'll be happy to reply to you

AussiePup I feel for you Must be very hard with sleepless nights of a toddler and pregnancy as well... Just wanted to tell you that I did the C.I.O with my DS He was much younger but it was the best decision I ever took It is hard and there were tears from me and even DH not only DS Once we knew he had enough food during the day we didn't open the door to his room until next day in the morning We can hear him occasionally during the night but he learned to settle by himself He chats for a while when he goes to bed and when he gets up as well but never cries If you took the decision to do the C.I.O stick with it and hopefully you'll be all well rested after a full night sleep really soon Keep us posted Good luck

Congratulation ladies! Hope everyone is fine. I'm really excited to join the July group. Heard a heartbeat yetserday and I was soooo happy. Due date is 1st July with my second one. DS is 18 months now. Totally different pregnancy so far with nausea all day long and tiredness. None of this last time so it came as a surprise. Going back to American Hospital to the same dr who delivered my DS. Hugs to everyone.

Thanks for your thought. will check out the bugaboo bee. Am using the Mamas and papas pliko, good pram, lightweight all that , but for my infant bassinet mode, i have to zip it down . Ondoing all ready for the bassinet , baby is up cause it takes 10 min to do. Zip , buttons, move the sunshade etc, to fold it is another 5-10 min job cause the pram does not close in the bassinet mode, has to be sat upright!!!!!!, hence looking for an alt, tried the quinny but found it heavy, thought with the bugaboo, i could use the maxi cosi. and by the way the car seat of the pliko is very heavy!!!. By any chance are u selling your bugaboo??? I had my DS in the bassinet of the Pliko for 7 months and I was able to fold it in the bassinet mode and even fit it in a small boot of my Peugeot for first couple of months Loved the pram Had to take the sunshade off when folding but I didn't have to unzip Only did it when I moved my DS facing forward Maybe you would like to check with a Mamas and Papas shop why your pram doesn't fold in the bassinet mode because you should be able to do it HTH

Stopped BF not long ago and it's not easy We were down to the morning fed only What helped us was holding DS on my lap, as tight as I could and give as much skin contact as possible but being fully dressed - while he was drinking from a sitting position warm milk from his favourite cup Just let him take his time with a morning cuddle until he decided he wants to go play During the day while offering drinks I was giving him more cuddles with a as much skin contact as possible The more cuddles I offer the less he chases me around Hope things get better for you soon

I had my DS at the American Hospital last year through Emergency C-section They put him on my chest immediately for a few minutes for cuddles and photos Then for half an hour when they kept me under supervision they took my DS for a measurements/ clean-up but my DH was with him all the time I told my DH clearly that no way our DS or myself should be out if his sight more than half an hour But all went smooth and didn't have any problems I'm sure you can ask the nurses to take you through all the steps and explain what they are doing and how long approximately it will take I found everyone at the AM fantastic and very helpful Good luck

or SMA?! Just saw them today in Waitrose Marina Mall at 7.50 Dhs for 250-300 ml in a pack. But not sure about quantity. Was looking out of curiosity as I didn't realise until today that they have the ready formula packs!!! My DS was BF and now adding a little formula milk when making his cereals. We learn smth every day :) My DS is in 5th percentile and had pressure for a while but he proved very healty so I ignore charts right now.

Just bought recently a travel cot for my DS from Baby Shop in Dubai Mall - Junior brand at 220 - 240 Dhs (sorry bought more stuff at the same time and don't remember exact price). Sturdy and nice off-white and blue colors. Travel matress for the cot at 90 Dhs. Best prices I saw around the shops. Didn't always see it on display but worth trying. The box weights about 13kg but you may be able to distribute the weight when travelling. HTH

I used to put the AC soooo low when I was pregnant that my poor DH used to wear a woolen jumper during summer Nothing has changed now with DS almost 8 months :) I still need AC I was blaming it on my extra 8 kgs :( I don't know if it helps but you're not the only one
