Thanks so much! I actually went to Lulu today (my first time there too) and found what I was looking for. Was quite impressed actually at all that they carry! Will try Megamart next week :-)

So Ive never been to Megamart...but want to go to see what they have... what are the opening hours? And is it relatively easy to get to? And how is the parking? Can anyone give me directions from al-waab? I dont do too well with new places...but really want to go check it out!

Pizza Express is also an option...I did it at the one in Landmark...they give the kids dough to make their own pizzas...and put toppings etc on it..they give aprons and hats as well. Kids get to eat what they made, and they get juice and ice cream. They also do a 2-3 games. Its nothing over the top...simple yet fun. I think it was QR 50/child.

there are 4 'maids' threads on the forum today :-) Congrats on finishing it off all by yourself! Is your maid with you now? I like the idea of Futuregate! Do you have any idea how much Futuregate costs for all this paperwork? Im surprised they give ppl a hard time about getting a maid? I have heard that too. How do you convince them you need one? Are you working? TIA!

Thanks!! I found a couple of part time cleaner info which I think will use initially. But later on would require a fulltime/live in help that I would sponsor. I should get my RP right after the Eid holidays. Ive gotten my medical, fingerprinting etc all done. Hubby company said by Tuesday!!! So soon after I would be ready to sponsor. If anyone knows any reliable maid agencies please let me know!

Does anyone have the number and info for bootcamp held in Aspire park? Ive heard very good reviews about Bootcamp Qatar (Education city/corniche)..but not sure who runs the one in aspire park, price, time etc? Any info would be great! Also - do you lose weight with bootcamp (provided you eat healthy) or is it more stamina building/fitness training? Thanks!!!

I think the pool is amazing. And the whole area around the pool. Very nice! And its very large!!! Also, the gym is very nice. The clubhouse also is very nice. The childrens play area is pretty small compared to the size of the compound. However, I have visited several times in the day (weekends), evenings etc and all the kids are outside riding bikes, playing around. And lots of kids! It just seems very family friendly. I think I had pics, but deleted them just recently. AFG are generally very well known compounds here in Doha, and many ppl rave about them. So I think you will like it too. I really liked AFG 5 and also met a few families there. They all raved about what a fantastic compound it was. Very good maintenance plus a great community feel. They have things like halloween parties etc. They didnt have a 5 bed available which is what we wanted, but they had some 4 bedrooms available. Also would have been too far for my hubby's work which is in west bay. Lots of sherborne families there too that you can carpool with also. My kids are also in sherborne btw! Also the compound clubhouse is open on Fridays & Saturday's so you could call today or go in to check them out if you are in Doha already. Btw... I'm not an agent for them ...haha!! I just really liked that compound but hubby didn't agree with me.

Many thanks!!! We did call the manager -but unfortunatley nothing is available! I do like one of the villas there (near the west gate) , but I spoke to someone on that compound and she gave me the indication that it is not a very friendly compound :-( I myself am fairly social, and enjoy having compound get togethers. It really is THAT hard to get a school of your choice. I couldnt get my children into a school of my choice (I was trying for the 3 more well known ones) and went with the only school that took my application. I have been fairly unsatisifed with the school and desperate to change but have had no luck. I think school satisfication is fairly important and so definatley apply well in advance and to most schools. Also - very importantly - what is a 'good' school in one parents opinion is very different from another parent. GoodLuck!

They also say that if you have a group of 8+ then they would be able to come to a location of your choice? Dont know what charges would apply -the same as they have listed or different? Thank you all for your responses! I really needed to vent here! Needless to say I am just frustrated. For various reasons, the school we had initally chosen (and the only one that had accepted our applicaiton) is not suitable for us. I am very thankful though that my kids are happy there for the most part. But I almost wish I hadnt put them in and had homeschooled till I found a school that 'I' felt better with. Thanks again!
