CanSav please use a proper agency like Emirates nursing, nurse co. angels of medial care, enaya home nursing, al hilal private nursing. five star hotels use a couple of these agencies! Using maid agencies is a hit and miss, they are not professional unless you have a recommendation of someone who has used etc. As you are new to the country go the right way, yes it is expensive but until you know the ropes of the city it is safer for your child to be with a registered carer who is trained on how to take care of him and to keep him away from windows-doors etc. it is holiday season so you may have to book 1 week ahead for these agencies just to give you a heads up.

Thank you, it seems he is playing a blame game on various things. ie. cats, people walking past his villa, dogs walking outside his gate etc. I will not get confrontational with someone of these sorts, I will wait and see if we/neighbours get disturbed to the point we have to go to other resorts.

Sindy, I am with Bubbles on this one. Dont go into huge expense because the other side you may not get the job. Go in business attire to any interview. When you get the job then test and see what other emoloyees are wearing and what the rules for dress code in the work place. Good luck

Thanks bubbles I will try to go persinally because thy kind of have there back up when managment kindly informed them. I dont want anything to hapoen to the dogs but myself and neighbours just want some peace. Odd bark fine, but it is way beyond this. Hence why there are complaints.

Fairydust this has been attempted but the dogs lunged at me in there fence of course! But I had to go because my kids were crying. I will attempt alone when I have a carer. I am interested if Dubai Municipality has ruling over free hold areas and where can I find the laws about such issues. The web site is not very helpful. Still interested if anyone has had a issue as such and how did they go about it, if the owner is not positively responsive. **I have complained to managment along with others I gather from the responce I got. They do not seem to have any idea how to manage this issue.

Hi ladies, I live in a small community that does not really practise laws until someone complains. There are dogs that bark from approx 4:30pm until 9:30pm randomly and sometimes aggresively it sounds. My baby is scared when she is falling asleep when the dogs bark loudly. I hear them inside my villa and now it is nice weather I want to be able to enjoy the outside in some relative peace. I paid a high rent to live in this community so I do feel I shall be entitled to some peace. Has anyone complainted to dubai municipality to get the issue resolved? Does dubai municiplaity govern these free hold communities ? I do know in the local areas they have full control to solve these issues as they are the governing body. Do you have any experience in the laws in regards to these issues, ie. Noise, disturbance. I have googled but I did not come up with any firm answers. Thank you. I do like dogs and have been the owner of dogs so dont even go in that direction.

I don't know the ratio but I am sure its more single guys then girls. Guys are here working in the young 20-30's their are always some girls in their 20-30's. I think girls tend to get married earlier ( don't throw arrows at me) Oh my friends are travel but with other guys of like. they go to the gym, beach, do the things all young guys do. The are always busy but do not find THE GIRL as I stated above its hard to find.

Skyfall i think its a Dubai problem, my single male friends have the same problem. They make ok money, smell nice, honourable guys but the girls they meet want range rovers and handbags and rolex watches as gifts. They have chosen to stay single rather then to go in to debt to have a woman in Dubai. I am affraid there is not old fashioned simple relationships here unless your in school.

Hi, welcome to Dubai minus the itch. Stop all soaps and clothes detergent. Use Seba Med soap ( any super market) and use a gentle non perfumed cream like Cetaphil. I hope this gets rid of it. Contact your HR dept. and see if they will give you a insurance claim back for doctor appointment.

Congratulations, I delivered in City hospital both babies. I did go through the whole birthing situation with my friend who did not have the luxury of being able to afford private hospitals. I had to help her through the labour as men (Husband) is not allowed, at that point I said No Way would I go to Latifa. I want my husband through every minute. I thought the hospital looked dated to say the least. Go to City hospital tour, that will help you decide. I heard good things about Al Zahra also.

Hi, Mercedes over a Land Rover. Owned both and still have the Mercedes and its going strong. There are alot of Mercedes shops also that can fix used cars. Digitec, Munich Motors etc. New or used? its up to your budget and what class you want. Read on the reviews of the cars you like and the problems it will help you decide, there are many people leaving Dubai all the time who's dream didn't quite make it. look in Dubizzle and Al Ain Cars and there is a Auto Trade. **I got my car with 1002 klm and paid AED65,000( car was big $$$$) less than the show room! I was a very happy Girl.

Hi labello, You must tell your employer or they will find out when you do the visa process, and that does not look truthful from your side. Employer can decide how valuable you are, to either stop visa process or continue and have you as a member of there team. I got my visa and i was pregnant and they will do a blood and you must tell them YOUR Pregnant as they will not XRAY you. you will go to see the doctor (female) and she will exempt you from the Xray. Take the high road because you will get caught.

Hi welcome to Dubai, yes contact Emirates nursing they can provide you with around the clock care for your child. Do ask them for a non or registered nurse, they are different rates. Also maybe you start to use them and get your little one used to one of the girls so its not a shock this will cost you a good amount but what is the alternative. Good luck.

Victoria, ac duct cleaning is a whole other ball game! Rons and Canadian >>>? did it for us on our villa and the landlord paid as it was a stipulation with us. Epsco was too expensive so they were not awarded the job. My new landlord just told me they appointed someone to do the water tanks, so that's another thing I don't have to pay for. good luck with your maintenance.

Victoria I am not sure the legality of it but being in Real estate for 10 years it is a major part of the villa and it would fall under Major Maintenace. We are in the wild Dubai and some Landlords dont want to part with there dirhams! What can we do but to do it ourselves. You cant put a price on clean water. Try to find the best price, I got quote from Rons Enviro Care for aed1000. Too expensive.

Hi wizzy, As others have stated it may be easier to buy a car here. Also remember gulf specs mean that the seals in the motors and tubes and AC is different. Your USA car may not have this and in the hot summers you may be sweating as the blower and AC may not be strong enough etc. Have a look into this, if your car is from California or Texas it may equal to the specifications here.

Hi macaroon, I don't think its the raw green coffee, I believe its pills or some herbal concoction. I am interested and it has been a fad diet for many years. I have not tried it as I shake like a leaf with normal coffee so I am scared i may vibrate uncontrollably if I take it. green coffee 1000 ? I want to diet in ramadan as food will not always be available in the malls in the day which will help. I will watch this thread to see the replies.

Potty training my 2.5 dd has been the biggest challenge of my parenthood. I do not know what to do, nor do I want to get mad at her as when I put her on the potty she never does anything then when she gets off....she does it. I have a potty that plays music and a butterfly potty so its nto that its not nice. I think next move is treat time, I didn't want to do this as I thought its human nature to learn how to go on the potty. I wished someone could come and do this for me because I am lost in this situation. (Dd I don't think she knows when she will do #1) because she is always surprised when she sees it on the floor. Stretch marks oh my! My tummy looks like a tiger scratched me, 2 pregnancies in 2 years. The marks of a mother that I will embrace :) I tried bio oil, I am not sure if it worked and this one the Dr. Perscribed...I still see them! Apparently you can lazer them when they are still pink but I feel lazer is bothersome. I need Tessa to come over and help potty train!

Hi, I hope your going to be there for 5 days at least. The Grove is a great place with the market behind to spend a afternoon. Santa Monica, Santa Barbara both for a lunch and walk on the board walks, Beverly hills..beverly hills hotel for a tea perhaps? I dont know where you are staying. If you want to do Disneyland you can never be too old for Mickey Mouse! The New orleans section and smallw orld are lovely in Disney along with the parade, it will make yiu feel like newly weds! hollywood street is just a strip not too much to see but the Hard Rock and some stars. Shopping- it depends what your looking for,, Irvine has great malls and great Iranian food restaurants. Of course bring your phone for the google map you will need it! It's all driving to get anywhere and taxis are few n far between. Uber may be of use if you dont want to rent a car. Get a international driving license at wafi for whom ever may drive there. Its just a booklet that says your able to drive in such and such country it takes 10 minutes. When you arrive get some pamphlets they are everywhere and you will have no spare days. Lucky you and enjoy. I get to spend 2 months in San Diego :)

Mary I hear you! your dream sounds like mine ..but my dream house is in San Diego. I want the beautiful bright house with amazing kitchen with carrera marble island bla bla. We are passing each year here and paying in the last 13 years millions in someone elses pocket and everyday I am dealing with terrible ac problems old bathrooms etc. But I am scared to buy because of the fragile situation in the gulf for the past years. Iran just said they MAY block the straight of Hormuz.(gulf news) that brings uprise and in it will effect real estate! Oh this is my dilema every day that keeps going on. We own a affordable town home here but its too small so we rent it. I would like to buy in Jumeirah park because of the space and it is possible to have something close to what my dream is, but I am hesitant because its a big investment to loose if the market crashes. Your not alone.
