I am a crafter, and had my table booked weeks ago! My car stayed packed since my last event that I did on Wednesday and so many of my customers were coming to meet me at the EW Fair. I appreciate and understand all your reasons for canceling the event. Would people have been happy if we had the biggest storm in rescent years, rain over today's event - NO. And they would've complained either way! Admin - if I can, I organize small Shop 'n Play events and would appreciate if you could list them? The next event is full but we still have one more before Xmas! Sh$t happens :D

Has the group taken off? I'm about to start Methotrexate next week. My joints are riddled with inflammation and I've just had enough!!! Right hand is the worst at the moment, and I'm hating the fact that I can't pick up my kids sometimes. I've just had Cortisone injections today, last time was in 2009. But I've had flare ups on and off since then, but I've always been able to manage them somehow. RA is not something new to me, been with me since the age of 13. I'm with Dr Bhavna Khan, who is fantastic! After my consult today, and the extent of my inflammation, I thought Methotrexate was my only option...but now it seems others have kept it under control with alternative methods?! Why is the methotrexate so bad for you then? X

Mango has a local site now and delivers within 2 days, free of charge if you sound over 500dhs. I have a package arriving today which I've ordered on Tuesday night, and based on past purchases, they are always very efficient! They had loads of maxi dresses and maxi skirts when the sale started, but you can still find a few more! http://shop.mango.com/AE/mango What will happen if you need to return an item? Wrong size or faulty item? There is a CS page on the website with returns etc on it You need to return or exchange it, in the store! I've done it before and have had NO problems, just take your packing invoice with you!

I've always had a bad knee, juvenile arthritis since the age of 13yrs old. After treatment, the flare ups seemed to have stopped! Then I had 2 pregnancies and suffered with joint pain in almost every joint. The foot pain you describe when waking, I had that along with the aching pains after walking for too long. I've been a patient with Dr Badsha for 2yrs but just found we were never really getting anywhere with my diagnosis or treatment! I then saw Dr Andreas Appelt (German Board Certified) at the Dubai Mall Clinic. His an orthopedic surgeon. The first thing he asked me to do was walk...immediately noticed my flat feet/fallen arches and my knee not being able to rotate the way it should be. Had an MRI, discovered a meniscus tear and had laporoscopy surgery 2 weeks later. Currently still recovering, apart from my knee that's still swollen I have no other joint pain! He explained that when my foot strikes the ground, instead of rotating - heel-arch, my rotates inwards! Putting strain on the ankle, which puts strain on the knee, which caused lower back problems, which caused pain in my right shoulder! So all on all, a knock on effect! I've also had custom made insoles made, moulds were taken here and made in the States! The insoles have exactly the right inclination to lift my arches. Very, very costly but worth every penny! It also means I can only wear certain shoes which the insoles can fit in, but it's a small price to pay! Dr Andreas is a wonderful Dr!!! Extremely through, good bedside manner and his general personality is very welcoming! All the best x

I use Shopbop all the time!!! Excellent service and delivery 3-4 days direct, no charge! For US brands wayyyyy cheaper than on net-a-porter! All my Tory Burch and Marc Jacobs products I purchase online from Shopbop and never ever had any problems with delivery! I'm a very happy "return customer" (which is normally once a month) ;)

My DH has custom made innersoles and when he buys shoes he always only buys a pair if the innersole of the shoe is actually removable and replaceable with his special ones. So far he has been quite fortunate but ladies shoes might be more challenging. CP - I discovered that with some of the Hush Puppies, they have inner soles which you can remove. When I put my custom made soles inside, they're not as bulky as I can remove the sole which the came with! Super comfy and stylish, but I'm not really a fan on wearing closed shoes in this heat 24/7!!! Am thinking of something peep-toe but still closed on the side to hold the inner sole in place ;)

Ladies, thank you for these tips, I will try them out! RachelA - we found that after trimming some of the material away on the side, it was able to fit better into the shoes and my trainers without affecting the support! I paid 2400dhs for mine, not sure if it's an option to have a second set made?!

Don't give her extra money or time off. What you can do is take her shopping to buy a couple of souvenirs. She is on vacation and in a foreign country even while working, better to keep her busy. Thanks Captain! Another question: Her phone won't be working in SA, would it be proper to get her a sim card and phone so that she can stay in contact with her family? Or should I just let her use mine when she wants to send them msg's and let them know how she is doing?

Thanks SweetSugar123 that sounds like a good deal ;) Enjoy! My maid loved SA, after she got over the shock that there weren't lions roaming the streets, as expected, Lol! Aaawww bless! My maid does not even know where SA is, so I think she will be pretty blown away just by the mere fact that she is in another country :D

After a stay in hospital at 4 months old, my DD suffered with chronic constipation and trapped wind in her colon. The only which helped us was Disphlatyl (you can find it at any pharmacy) and drops which was prescribed by a gastroenterologist! You can unfortunately only get it at The Dubai Herbal Treatment centre and is only meant to be used for severe cases of trapped wind. Try the Disphlatyl, I found it worked better than Infacol x

I'm doing BLW with my second DD. I would strongly suggest you read up and educate yourself first, so that you feel mire equipped when you start! I personally think it's a lifestyle and we simply love it! The main rule of BLW is that food is for play and discovery in the first year, milk should still remain the main source of nutrition. Once you understand this, everything will make sense! My DD is just under 7 months and has eaten: Chicken curry, Thai Beef curry (tonight) lamb chop on the bone, chicken thigh on the bone, SpagBol, lamb burgers, toasted sandwiches and almost all fruits part from the acidic/citrus ones, most veggies - all whole and cut to a size that she can manage! It's probably one of the best decisions we have made - no stress about what she's going to eat as she eats what we do :) It's soooooo much fun and you quickly get the hang of it! I've never stressed when DD has gagged (also because I think she is my second), and it always amazes me at how she is able to move that peice of food out of her mouth if it's too big! She's never had anything puree'd, out of a pouch or jar and I hope to keep it that way ;) Good luck x

It's like my muscles are literally soaking it up :) And not to mention the great taste, definitely cures my craving for something yummy tasting after a workout! You deserve a medal for taking the time out to replying to everyone's questions and for being so patient and thorough with your explanations! God bless you xxx

'> Why don't you try Zumba? It really is a fun workout. :) '> Why don't you try Zumba? It really is a fun workout. :) I am a ZUMBA addict!!! I do the classes at Dancefit and just looking at the trainers alone is motivation to get me there :D All Latin American and sooooo sexy!!! I alternate between Zumba Cardio, Zumba Toning (with weights), Sambafit, and Power Circuit - so that's about 4 classes a week! I have never sweated and sworn so much in my life ;) Totallt exhilarating! They have morning and evenin classes and a small creche if you have kids that you want to be looked after whilst working out! I would've loved to do the CF Challenge but due to bad knees, the trainers advised me not to! So I'm following the diet plan and food rules. I've also started taking Syntha 6 which is a protein shake after every workout. This is on the CF meal plan as a "mid or afternoon" snack, so not a meal replacement. Sorry to pick your brain Beebers - but do you have any personal review on Syntha 6? I've done loads of internet research before taking it, and all reveiws are "positive" so went with those. My scale has not moved in weeks, however my clothes feel lighter on me and I feel more energized! I would desperately like to see just a small dip in the numbers, but I know I need to keep going and eventually I will see the numbers drop! Understanding the dynamics also helps, muscle weighs - and I'm toning up and building muscle first which will help keep the weight off in the long run! I've lost loads of inches though, so I'm motivated by that...and by the fact that I need to fit into a certain red dress in 4 weeks time for a wedding :D

Dr Heather Eade has helped our whole family with various issues! Me with hormonal and woman's health issues and DH & DD with sleeping issues! After being here for nearly 6yrs she is by far one of the best Dr's we have ever dealt with! She also did allergy testing for DH and sat with both of us to go through his report! Extremely thorough and gave him a list of foods to avoid and increase! He has seen a huge change in his overall well-being when he sticks to this list! She also put him on HTP5 for sleeping issues. It literally knocked him out and completely changed his sleeping cycles. X

It's difficult to say, they go through so much those first weeks of life :( Both my kids had reflux, one was EBF and was a happy chucker, the other FF and her reflux caused her much discomfort! I chose not to medicate with either and they both just out grew it. Reflux normally peaks at 6 weeks, so the idea of keeping a diary sounds like a good idea so that you can rule out things like - developmental growth spurts which can disrupt feeding, colic which also oaks around the 6 week mark and a wind/gas issue. At this age what i found that helped was - Feed, wind, upright or awake time for at least 20min (this helps gravity do it's work and gives the milk time to settle), sleep! Basically following the EASY routine. You could use Infacol before feeds which helps bind the gas bubbles and enables them to bring up good winds/burps. See how you get on the next few days and try to take your *records* with you to you Dr as a new Mummy's brain can be very fuzzy when it comes to the finer details ;) Who is your Dr? X

Helen at Lifeworks was a godsend when I was diagnosed, and helped me understand PND, from beginning and still ingoing! There is also a range of counsellors at Lifeworks who can help you out, depending on your needs! She is extremely empathetic and sympathetic and will not push meds on you unless alternative therapy has not helped. I am now on meds after seeing her regularly for 6 months in the beginning of my therapy. The meds+regular therapy sessions has changed our life as a family! We have both, new Explorer and LR3. In terms of size, there is very little difference, power and road handling - LR3/4 wins hands down! I feel the LR3 is more solid on the road and a much "heavier" car to handle! TBH - I feel much more safer in the Land Rover as the build feels more sturdy! In saying that, we are happy with both cars, as they both have the positives and negatives! However if you could afford a Land Rover, then that would be the car to get.

There seems to be many ways of selling goods these days and that's why it is son confusing as to what is right and legal! I know of a lady, who has a FB Page and sells the most gorgeous baby clothing & accessories, toys and maternity wear! She does not have a website, not a shop and uses Amarex to get your goods to you! All you do is send her a MSG on FB with the items you would like to order! She has a huge selection and her stock must equal a pretty penny! What licence would she need for this? How does she get her goods in if she does not have a valid trade licence? I feel like I'm going around in circles, and even though everyone says unless you have an LLC or Freezone licence it is illegal!?

You dont need a trade license for craft markets. You only pay for your registration and your space. It doesnt fall under the same category as things that are sold in shops everyday. So how would I import my goods? What would I need to show at customs to clear, say a box containing my products? Do you have a link to this info? Thanks!

City Hospital is managed by a South African company, a great percentage of the staff are South African, and a majority of the midwives are South African too! I'm by no means coming on here to rain on your parade DB, but just wanted to share my 2 births with you! DD1 - extremely high needs baby, cried/fussed/whinged for hrs, was a battle to get her to sleep and when she did, it was only for short spells! And this was from the day she was born! Colic and reflux made it impossible to take her out in the early days! DD2 - extremely contended baby who slept and slept for hrs from birth! Slept and ate and that was all she did up until a few weeks ago! Hardly cried and is happy to nod off on her own! It's all fair and well to go ahead and make plans for AFTER the baby arrives, but also keep an open mind that things may not always go the way you hope it would! You certainly would not want to be traipsing to a Xmas brunch with a baby who is a bit "challenging"! So, not ALL babies "just sleep for the first few weeks"...I bought into this hype and got a rude awakening when my baby defied everything I read prior to her arrival!

Hello there, I have recently (1 week ago) moved to Dubai (Exec towers) and would love any advice on breastfeeding in public. I have been told that it is not accepted in public and can only be done in the mom and baby bathrooms. Does this include being covered? Would love to chat to anyone in the same area. Still new to EW so getting to know all the in's and out's :) Not sure who gave you that info but it is so far from the truth! I breastfed both my DD's in public, almost anywhere, and no one batted an eye-lid! Don't make an issue out of it and no one will even know ;)

For eyeshadows I would suggest NYX eyeshadows. They are great quality and the colour pigments are really good. A lot of make up artists in USA use them instead of MAC as they say its a perfect copy (dupe) but at a much lower price. Lifestyle centre sells them (the shops next to Splash and Babyshop). To make eyeshadow last longer on your eyelid I would also suggest eyelid primer. Best one is Urban Decay Primer Potion for eyelids. Works great and isnt that expensive. It also lasts a very long time as you just need a little dot on each eyelid. I've just given these a try based in your recommendation and I love, love, love the Eye-shadow pallettes! I was so impressed I bought 4 and got 25% as they are having a promotion! Also a few make-up artists recommended it on their blogs as well, so I'm a very happy convert today :)
