I would strongly suggest to change Dr's or get a second opinion from a Pediatric Specialist! I'm actually gob-smacked that a Dr advocated corn flower to a 4 month old :/: There a quite a few Pediatricans who specialize in nutrition - Dr Michael Loubser and Dr Sanja @ Infinity Health Clinic are very specialized in this field! As for sugar, fruit juice - that is a big NO-NO! My DD only started getting tasters of juice once she was over 1yr old! It seems that we are moving from July to June. Entering our 8 month we found out from my previous OB back home that she made a combination of horizontal & vertical incision in my uterus thus not making me qualified for VBAC. We're scheduled on June 26 (12 noon) at City. Anyone there by that time? I'm having my section on the 25th @ 8am with Dr Elsa, so it seems we will be there at the same time ;) Who is you Dr?

So it seems my July Bubba will be a June baby!!! Had a check up today and no changes since my last appointment :( So it's a case of history repeating itself and thankfully I'm much more prepared for it this time! Section booked for the 25th June @ 8am! Anyone else in hospital at that time? Niggly - we've used Cecile since DD1 was 6 weeks old, right up until about 8 months :) Wonderful to hear that your baby haas turned, hope it's all systems go for you now :D

Hey KiranB - good to hear from you!!! You're very brave being away from your DH for so long, I would never have been able to stand the distance :( What are you using for your stretch marks? I've had none this pregnancy *touch wood* but got loads with my first! Bio Oil is one of the best stretch marks oil! Well I think I have jinxed myself, as the aches and pains have set in :\: Lots of tightening across my belly and my back feels like it has been bulldozed! I slept for most of the morning though as DD went to nursery, but I just could not feel rested enough! I did manage to pack my hospital bag this afternoon, just need to get my toiletries tomorrow. I am soooo ready to have this baby now! Just want to get on with things now :) I'm also a big advocate of Cecile De Scaly so we met with her on Saturday to talk us through feeding/sleeping routines as I want to be pro-active this time, instead of re-active! I feel so much more relaxed after meeting with her as I was struggling to get my head around managing a toddler and a new born. Am hoping to keep things as "disruption" free for DD1 and at the same time get DD2 into a routine ASAP! Welcome to the group Daisy Bump! Expatwoman runs a B&B Coffee morning and it's a great way to meet other mums! Check out the "events" section for timings and venues! ETA: we're seeing Dr Elsa first thing in the morning tomorrow! She'll be able to give us a good indication on whether I can hold out for a natural, and if not then we will set the date for our section!!! And don't worry about your weight gain Kiran! Most woman put on 20+kg's in the first pregnancy, so I would say you are pretty much on target for healthy weight gain! I put on 20kg in my first and I've only put on 9kg with this pregnancy! You live and learn I guess ;) edited by plumie on 18/06/2012

Day 2 I was still not able to stand up straight, so was basically standing hunched over in the shower! It's a massive bandage which they strap on, and mine got wet but not fully soaked. Just ring the nurses when you are done, and they can put a new clean dry bandage on for you. Cool. thanks for the info. any idea which route you're gona be going down this time? edited by LMAO-DXB on 14/06/2012 I've just added my update on the July Due Date thread, have a look ;)

Motherhood really does start before your baby is born already! And the big decisions start way before they are sent off to college ;) AmyAus - it sounds like you are in the right track with your frame of mind! I never got the natural birth I so desperately wanted with my first, and it seems we are heading down that same route again! My body seems to be defying Mother Nature again, so we need to start considering Plan B! I do sometimes look down at my scar, and get teary just thinking about what it represents, it's become sentimental to me in a way?! Keep us updated once your date has been set! I've just hit 37 weeks today and off to pack my hospital bag this week-end :D Making a few big decisions in Tuesday when we see Dr Elsa, so getting pretty excited now!!!

Thanks Plumie, thats good to know. Was wondering more because of the wound & dressing - if you needed to wait to keep it dry for a few days. And just a really stupid question, how long do you have to wait after a c-section before you can have a shower? (I know its a really minor detail but just something thats playing on my mind!!) Thanks! LMAO - you can shower as soon as you are ready! I showered the very next morning as my section was in the afternoon and i was still "high" on drugs for the remainder of the day! It's really a mind over matter experience - you can either succumb to the fact that you had surgery and lay in bed the whole 4 days or you can just "get on with it" ;)

I would also recommend going for Pregnancy massages, I can highly recommend SensAsia Spa on the Palm! I combined mine with a facial and it was heavenly! As far as I know, you can start or resume exercising after 12 weeks!? I did with my first pregnancy all the way until 39 weeks! Prenatal Yoga and even Aqua aerobics was a great "stress buster" for me ;)

Isnt the Bee though like a typical maclaren stroller? I would not say so! Most Maclarens are umbrella fold, the Bee is slightly different but still only requires one hand to collapse it. And way more "plush" ;)

Love the Chameleon, but in hindsight should've gone for the Bee! Way easier to use, load in the car and much more compact! I use the Bee when I London and it's a breeze, love it! With all that said, the Chameloen is one of the lightest strollers on the market and comes out tops for practicality and maneuverability :)

When you buy a bugaboo you register it for warranty online, using the unique chasis number, so in theory it should not matter where in the world you buy it from, it should be covered. If there are any problems with it whilst in the warranty period, you can contact bugaboo customer services online, and they will, for example, arrange for a replacement part to be sent to your home address, or collected from your local retailer. I found their customer service exceptional when I had a problem (just what you expect when you pay premium prices!) That is correct! We bought ours in the Netherlands (due to obvious price differences), when the in-laws arrived with it, some of the padding on the handle was damaged and JK replaced it! The warranty is with Bugaboo not the store, they are obliged to honuor it as the sole distributor! Just speak to the owners at JK if the staff are "unsure"!

OMW - it seems like a few July babies will be born in June, how exciting!!! A mere matter of days now! Has everyone finished all their shopping? Packed their hospital bags yet? I packed mine at 37 weeks with DD1 so will be doing the same this week-end ;) Saw Dr Elsa last Thursday and Little Missy is still sitting "very high" up! She may be going down the same route as her older sister if she does not make a move on soon! See Dr again next Tuesday and then we will make a decision! If we decide to go for a planned section again, then I would like to hold out until 40 weeks again! Maybe 39 if she really starts misbehaving ;) How is everyone getting on with sleep?! It's loo trips everyone 2/3hrs for me these days! Preparation for what lies ahead I guess! Apart from that I feel great and not too exhausted! Heartburn is a killer at the moment and I'm taking Gaviscon in all forms throughout the day :/: Sorry to hear about all the breech babies! Seems to be a stubborn lot these July Babies! KiranB - hope the tooth removal went well and you could take some painkillers! AmyAus - so sorry to hear of your situation! How are you getting on?

Hey July Mummies!!! How is everyone doing??? Seems like everyone has dropped off the radar or busy shopping for all the eminent arrivals :D We've been exiled in the UK for a few weeks and it has been bliss! Making full use of the fresh air (albeit rained almost every day), it was a welcome change to the heat and humidity! 34weeks so the countdown is officially on! Had a check up with Dr yesterday and baby is head down, snuggled in my pelvis and she has started breathing on her own! I have to say it was quite awesome to watch her inhale and exhale, but this was also another sign - that she is ready!!! Meeting Dr in 2 weeks time and then probably weekly after that! No decision has been made re: VBAC or elective section (1st was a section at 40 weeks), as nature will determine this ;) Heartburn has returned with a vengeance and I'm a walking ad for Gaviscon at the moment! Lower back ache and groin pain has started so it's small "waddling" steps for me at the moment :) Sleep - it's taking me between 1 - 2hrs to get comfy as Little Missy is the most busiest from 11pm-1am - kicking and doing all sort of somersaults in her confined little space! Hence me crashing with DD when she goes down for her midday nap! How is everyone else doing? Let's all try to reconnect again, as this place is going to be a ghost town come July when everyone has left for the summer holidays :( Play dates and "at-home-get-together's" will help our sanity :D Update Mumma's

You wouldn't suppose the fat from my very pregnant body will be able to keep me warm enough?! I leave for the UK this week- end, with no closed shoes (swollen feet & canckles), a few jumpers (which I managed to buy yesterday) and a couple of vest/long sleeve tops! Apart from that - my suitcase resembles someone who is going on a vacation to a mildly chilly place...but definitely not suitable for heavy rain and snow :/: Oh dear...am going to go on wishful thinking that I can generate enough body heat to keep myself warm ;)

Thanks Mums (completely forgot about this thread)!!! Had a long chat with her Peadiatrician and she said it was completely normal as DD's immune system has been sheltered for the first year of her life, so pretty common! She also mentioned that February is synonymous for kids getting sick at Nursery - climate changes and also new kids starting at the beginning of the year (bringing germs and bugs with them)! She's confident that it has nothing to do with BV as she knows the Nursery very well and it's reputation has always been great! Indeed - DD has been sick every other week since starting, never a repeat illness, always a new one! So her immune system is going through a check list right now and building immunity against all these nasty viruses and bugs! As DD's Peadiatrician has said - rather for her to be sick now, as you can keep her out of Nursery than when she starts school! JulesLC - I've been searching for this Manuka Honey, where can I find it?

Another happy BV Mum :D Before deciding on which nursery to send her to, I visited quite a few and BV come out tops with regards to facilities! I love the huge outside space, the nursery is always spotless, and the garden area wonderful! We had a few teething issues in the beginning, however I cannot fault the Director (Debbie) nor the teacher for dealing with it in a wonderful and very helpful manner! I too love the fact that DD is getting exposure to French & Arabic and has a class with Dubai Drums on Wednesday's! Top marks for organization and another bonus is the wonderful menu they have for the kiddies :)

This was something that we really struggled with, so I feel your frustration! There are many ways that you can do this, some harder and some easier! What eventually worked for us, was 2 weeks in the UK! I got my BFF to do the 4:30pm feed with the bottle. From 4:30pm DD cluster feed (so every hr until bedtime), so it was a feed that was more for comfort and if she did not take it was not a train smash! I would leave the house for 1hr so that there was no smell of me in the house, nor could she sense my presence! We also put the TV on for distraction and she was feed in a completely different room from where I would do her breastfeeds! She went from taking 30ml to 60ml by the time we left. By 10 months she was completely weaned, but this was also partly due to the fact that I was pregnant and the composition of my milk had changed, so DD self-weaned herself off the breast! So all-in-all it took us 2 months! The hardest feed for her and me to drop was the bedtime feed! I totally loved cuddling up to DD, all warm and smelling yummy from her bath and just enjoying those last few moments of peace and bonding before bedtime! Weaning from breast to bottle is a very emotional thing for a breastfeeding Mamma to go through, so dot beat yourself up if it does not work on the first few tries! You also have the option of going cold turkey?! Leave for most of the day...and **eventually** he will will be starving and **will** take the bottle!? I could not do this for emotional reasons, but maybe there is someone on here who has done it and it has worked?! Good luck and whatsapp me if you want to chat further x
