And you always looked ridiculously stylish while you were pregnant (and I was rocking the exhausted slug look) so I think the OP should go with asos.com :D. Hahahahahaha - you crack me up DC :D But thanks for the compliment ;)

Apologies for threadjacking but where did you find the Miracle Swaddle thing? I looked at MOE the other day and couldn't find them anywhere. I have one that you are most welcome to borrow! Y didn't take to it, so we used the Aiden & Anais swaddles ( you actually brought a pack over for me from the UK)! Also happy to borrow you one as they come in a pack of 4 and I have loads! Probably one of our best baby buys!!! So, happy to bring it along when we next meet, or if you are in the area, you are welcome to pick it up :)

I lived in ASOS maternity dresses! Free worldwide delivery and 3-7 days delivery! Some nice bargains in the sale section and they sell a range of designers including their own brand! My go-to-online shop for anything clothing/shoes/accessory related :) If you are not into online shopping, then Destination Maternity, Topshop Maternity & H&M are just as good!

You need to use your instinct and judge your baby as each baby reaches developmental milestones at a different age. We lowered DD's as soon as she was able to sit up and pull herself up by holding on to the bars! This was around the 5 month mark.

I started excercising after my 6 week check, couldnt bear to look in the mirror. Went to the pure fitness classes around town where you take the bub with you and they stay in their stroller or on the soft play area whilst you excercise. Also can do buggy fit allover Dubai. Pure fitness ladies are all mums and none willintimidate you. Loved Tracey's zumba mumba class and the weight felloff. I do the Zumba Class with Tracey as well and it is AWESOME!!! Matter of fact, all the Pure Fitness classes are great, and a bonus that you can take baby along! Great atmosphere and a wonderful way to meet other Mums! I also do the Bootcamp class on Thursday (when i can sum up the energy as it is really tough) :D

Do any of the before mentioned have a website so you can see what they have? Is Garderobe the one on the beach road? If so is there a lot or just a few things to choose from? tia It's a double storey villa that has been converted! Racks and racks of designer clothing, shoes, bags, accessories etc! The boutique is beautiful and very chic! They have a website and Facebook page!

I currently have 4 pairs of shoes with them - Stella McCartney, ETRO, Pedro Garcia & Alexander McQeeun - never been worn! It's been there for over 1 month and still not sold. Whatever price you ask for, they double it and take 50% once sold! If not sold for 3 months, they can reduce the price or sell it at the Designer Market @ Meydan. I will be collecting my shoes on Sunday and will try to sell them through myexwardrobe or the Designer market! Beautiful boutique and if you are not careful, you can actually end up spending money instead of making money  edited by plumie on 15/09/2011

Sitting at home, packing my bags, due to fly out to Florida via NY in 3 days time!!! It was the first time I was going to leave the nest! My flight was delayed for 1 month and changed to go via Atlanta! Saying good-bye to my Mum at the airport was a bitter-sweet moment! She - worried with fear, that her only daughter is leaving to the most volatile country at the moment, and me - excited beyond belief that I was finally spreading my wings!!! It was a surreal day watching the events of 9/11 unfold right before my eyes :(

Hi Plumie ;) Next month I go back flying so have to stop completely by then. I don't really want him having to deal with too much change at once by leaving it until then tho. He was B/feeding at 7am, 9am, 3pm, 5.30pm, his night feeds where b/fed also. He had 3 bottles including dream feed all 210 ml (he is only 11 weeks) and is now having 6 bottles per day & my b#€bs look like I work in a different industry:\: lol! I did exactly what BFC advised! I cut down one feed every week/s and my body adjusted with ease! The first few days after dropping a feed, I was engorged, but not leaking and eventually may body stopped "producing" milk at the feed times which I cut out! No expressing, no pumping, but maybe just try wearing some breast pads if you do leak!? Trust your body, i'm still amazed at how I went from 6/8 feeds a day to 4 feeds a day now, and I always have milk & DD never goes hungry ;) Good luck and i hope things ease up for you xxx

My DD was the same as yours! Would take her out of the car seat and her head would be soaking wet from sweating :( If you have a Maxi-cosi car seat, you could try the Summer Cover?! It made a big difference, she still used to sweat, but not as much. Just Kidding sells them.

Not sure if it serves the same purpose, but I used Lilypadz for relief and to soothe the nipples after feeding and pumping. They are re-usable and can be stored in the fridge for a cooling effect. You can buy them at Premaman in Dubai Mall. http://www.simplylily.com/ HTH

thanks Plumie...would love to ask you more details but I know your busy....if you don't want to discuss on here either I'd really appreciate a quick email - caterina underscore strano at yahoo dot com dot au, as to the method you used and whether it did involve any CIO or JUST 20/5/20 thanks! Exactly the same method that you were advised. Hands on 20, pick up 5, hands on another 20 and then if still not settled, do "whatever". We never left the room once! Will be able to chat to you offline in the week as it will give me something to do, instead of staring into MIL's and FIL face the whole day :D

thanks Plumie...can I ask if you had to leave your DD to cry at this age (13.5 weeks) and if it worked? I don't want it to turn into a Cecile thread either, just looking for advice from people who have worked through this, either with Cecile or differently. It took us 2 weeks of following through with the method, by 9 weeks DD was taking all her day naps and going down without any resistance nor waking up multiple times during the night. She only woke once, normally between 3/4am for a feed and back down until 7am.

Sydneygal - we have been through this (albeit not as bad as you :( ) and have been successful with the 20-5-20 method. We have been with Cecile since DD was 7 weeks old and just had our last consulation with her last week and DD is now 8 months, and have never looked backed with regards to "sleep/settling" issues. I don't want this to turn into another "Cecile" thread, so will just leave you with that peace of reassurance if you feel that you [i'>want[/i'> to follow through with her advise. I wish I had more time to chat to you, but am leaving on a trip tomorrow and need to get packing :/: Good luck and hang in there!!! X

Plumie- I do Baby Led Weaning, so not puree'ing anything, serving everything whole, well she feeds herself. She is almost 8 months now, works a treat. For the meatballs, prepare it any way you like it, With some spices, paprika, garlic, breadcrumbs etc. Place in baking tray and cover with a can of tinned tomatoes, pop in the oven untill cooked. Viola, salt free, tasty even for grown ups. Great - thanks! Meatballs are on the menu for next week :D I'm doing a mixture of BLW and spoon feeding. She does great when feeding herself, so hopefully within the next few weeks I can have her 80% weaned off spoon feeding/purée's.

Kiwispears: I hope don't mind, I am adding your beef stock recipe to this thread: If you have a slow cooker you can easily make and freeze your own stock too, slow cook meat on the bone with a few vegies, onions etc, (lamb shanks or chicken thighs are best) remove the meat, leave the bones and slow cook a few more hours then let cool to remove fat. Close the kitchen door though so you don't stink out your house :) MomOfTwins: am adding your beef stock recipe as well ;) To make beef stock, do this ( culinary school recipe) Buy raw bones, put them on a tray to roast on medium heat for about an hour or until they are brown Remove the bones and on the same tray add roughly chopped carrots, celery and onions, back into the oven until caramelized - stir eventually Put everything into a large pot and let it simmer in low heat for about 2 hours( add water to the bottom of the pan and make sure all the brown bits go into the stock!) Add a bouquet Garni to the stock, will give it some flavor ( you can find it at spinneys in the spice section - its a little sachet with spices in it) - remove and discard at the end. Skim the white foam that will rise to the top as it boils and discard it (use a ladle and skim around the sides) Strain the broth and you can use it immediately or freeze it for 3 months.

Not sure what "baby stock cubes" are...would they be like beef bouillon cubes? Saw Quinoa and Flax oil at Spinneys in Motor City. Heinz makes Stock Cubes which you can use when making baby food. Used them in the UK - no salt, no preservatives, no junk :) Which isle did you see the Flaxseed Oil MomOfTwins? I normally by Flaxseed at Spinney's and mill it down for DH and myself but not sure if I can use the milled seed for DD's cooking?!

I've had cortisone injections in 2009, and never had a flare up since, but it left me bed- ridden for a few days & with a very active 8 month old, I have a feeling this will not be an option this time :(

I have rheumatoid arthritis and been herev4 years. I used dr mofti for 3 years he in my opinion was the best doctor I have ever seen. He supported me whilst having a baby and controlling my arthritis. He does lots of charity work and works well with educating and making people aware of arthritis. He works In umm sequim now from his own clinic. I would still be his patient if his clinic accepted my insurance. But I now see dr khan in American she is lovely and is a very good doctor. I wish I could say the same about Dr Mofti :( He prescribed meds for me, without asking whether we were planning a family in the future. It so happens that the meds he prescribed work against conception, and can result in miscarriages. This we only found out when I changed to Dr Khan, who immediately stopped the meds as we were planning on starting a family in 3 months time. I have been living with RA for almost 20yrs, out of which it has been dormant for almost 10yrs and then flared up again a few years ago.

Thank you ladies! I've decided to take the chance and booked an appointment with Dr Humeirah tomorrow afternoon. Based on internet research she comes highly recommended in the field of Rheumatology and has been honored an award in 2010 for her work. So, I'm putting all my eggs in the basket and will give her a try. BFC - I will definitely take you up on your offer should Dr prescribe me Meds which does not specify the effects on lactation. I normally take Celebrex when I have flare ups, however it is clearly stated on the package insert that it is not to be used during lactation. Either that, or the breastfeeding Mum has to give up breastfeeding - which is not going to happen in my case!!!

He has since left American and now practices out of a clinic in Jumeirah! Lettie: DH found Dr Humeirah on a google search, however I am sceptical to see her! I may now try and make an appointment after your recommendation - thanks! I can't take any pain nor anti-inflammatory meds as I am breast-feeding so am really in a catch 22 situation :(

ask them at the hospital who is covering for her/who is on call for rheumatology. when docs go away they should have their preferred back up to cover their patients. the clinic or supervisor should have this information. Unfortunately there is nobody covering for her! Am in tears with the thought of seeing someone else as I have had a few bad experiences before finding her! But urgently need to have the water drained!
