Hi Ladies can someone please recommend a really really good specialist in Dubai for back pain. Basically I've been suffering now for a few years and it started out in the lower back and has now gone to the middle back. I get really stiff muscles and pain along my spine and it really affects my sleep. Seems to get worse at night or when lying down for long periods. Even sitting now if i twist around to either side i can feel the pain in the middle of my back, almost like a bruised feeling I've been going for physio which was helping to some extent but now seems like its not really helping as much anymore. I used to get really good relief for a couple of weeks after and now it doesn't seem to help at all. I've also seen Chiropractors and an Osteopath in the past Looking for something to get more permanent relief but not somewhere that will just suggest surgery straight away as i definitely don't want to go down that road. I googled and there are a lot of doctors and hospitals which come up but i really don't know which ones are the best Or is it best to go back to my normal GP, have another MRI scan done/referred (had one done about 2 years ago) and then go from there?? TIA :-) Try Dr Sean Miner, at California Chiropractic center, he is very good. I feel down the stairs and was in a wheelchair for weeks, had lots of therapy with him and I am so much better.

Thank you for all your responses! It still difficult to decide. One the one had I dont want to leave as I have worked and studied so hard to get where I am. As this is my first job after graduating i can still move forward a lot (especially with my background). But on the other hand, I dont have a social life at all at home. My family and friends all moved away to other countries, so basically i only have my husband. The job he has been offered is a management position for a multinational which makes him in charge of different companies in India and Europe (unfortunately not Netherlands or anywhere nearby). He would be able to support a family even if i wont be able to find the job. But the thought of sitting at home and just "making babies" is not the life i dreamt of. As my husband seems to has his mind set on accepting the job i have to chose between 1) moving to Dubai with my husband, but sitting home and throwing away 4 university degrees and 2) staying in Netherlands without social ties, but with a nice job and career prospects. My heart is telling me to move with him, but my mind is telling me to stay here. We have been married only for a few months but we have known each other for 5 years and lived together for 2. I think the fact that you cant decide, is a clear sign for you right there on what you need to be doing. I would go anywhere with my husband because I trust him and together we understand what each other needs. I am certainly not a woman who does not have her own life but I just know with him and together things work out. I think you don't have that trust there and deep down you have doubts in your husband and relationship. Sorry for being so blunt but I think you need to look at this situation for what it is and what is your gut telling your really. Best of luck with what you decide to do.

I am trying to get pregnant, but sadly no luck yet. Seems to be a coomon problem in my family. Do you know if there is a gynecologist in Dubai, who uses natural ways to help women get pregnant? I am not keen on using fertility treatments, as I had horrible problems when I tried using the pill some years ago. How old are you? If you are close to 35yrs old, I would just go for IVF, Fahik clinic is v good

Hi girls, i am searching for a really relaxed authentic beach bar or cafe. I am not talking about the fancy venues you will find when you google or party destinations like barasti. I rather have something in mind like beach restaurants in italy, spain, portugal or similar. cheap white plastic chairs, a charcoal grill, relaxed music, directly at the beach....If you made holiday in these places you will know what I mean. the closest I could find would be Bu qtair, but it is not at the beach. I would appreciate any tip. thanks, mina Eden beach club on the palm is amazing. or XL beach club on JBR...they do a great brunch

The whitening is normally with a hygienist, my hygienist Doelyne did the laser bleaching.she is at dr michaels, um squein on al wasl road, she is very good. highly recommend the home kits too and they great to top up after the bleaching. i had a check up first with the dentist, dr chris johansson to make sure the teeth were strong enough.

Thanks everyone, I take my daughter to Dr. Gilda at Dubai London clinic, but never thought to ask her who she would recommend. Thanks Preethi, I will check him out, glad you are happy. Ilovechoos, I will check him out, I generally don't like 'visiting' doctors though, but I do believe that US dentists know their stuff when it comes to cosmetic dentistry. I have already begun some of the work, replacing filings, at Drs, Nicholas & Asp and a few things, but I am getting a bit doubtful about the cosmetic side of it, Part of the work is a few crowns and then filing down some good teeth for veneers to match the crowns, but not actually feeling it with the guy I am going to, so I am a bit worried to do the cosmetic work now. We used to go to Dr Nicolas and asp but after quite a few issues with the dentists there so we left and found Chris who used to treat us at dr nicolas before. some guy started my treatment then left and then his replacement left...dr michaels fees are a little higher but cant fault chris and his hygienist, doelene and he has been in dubai for a long time and this is not a temporary thing for him...i hate it when you get used to doctors then they go. just go see dr chris for a consult and chat, he is v nice and not the sort to make you fee obliged to go ahead

The name is Shabu Shabu. We went there last time. The food is good. It is a combination of Japanese and Chinese food. It is like Chinese Hotpot where they will give you a soup then you will mix your chosen ingredients and put the spices you want to suit your taste. It was a nice experience. The place is also great as well as the dining atmosphere. Yes, that's it. Thank you x

I need lots of dental work done, mainly crowns and a few veneers. Does anyone have a good personal recommendation, I don't mind paying top $ for a top dentist, as, hopefully, whatever I do now will last for years and years, and I don't want to end up with a botch job. Thanks I have had a lot of cosmetic work with Dr Chris johansson at Dr Michael's, umn sequin, he is amazing and before he did my front crowns he did some sort of temporary fillings on them to give me an idea of how they would look, he takes his time to explain everything and is a real perfectionist. made me go to the lab to get the right shades for my teeth. i have recommended so many people to see him for cosmetic dental work and they all say he is super. i really dont like the american dentist approach, like they just after your money, he is not like that. my smile is truly transformed and i love it.

There gym has a terrible reputation, I have popped in there and as soon as I walked in I knew it wasn't the gym for me. I consider myself to be quite fit and healthy but like a lot of woman a bit self conscious at times and they have the complete wrong approach. Their way is completely damaging to certain people. The american manager there is so up herself and I have not idea why either...she aint all that. try Fitrepublik, we joined there after seeing one of their ads in hello and I loved how it showed a woman in her 50s working out....and its not too expensive.

My son goes to the German Neuroscience Clinic, healthcare city and they are very nice there, he see Dr Diana, she is excellent....they have different people depending on the issues. The manager there is Hoyam and she advised us to see Diana, call her for a chat and she can direct you. they also have direct billing with most insurance companies...good luck x

Does anyone have an idea where I could purchase the silver drain floor pieces that are installed in most kitchens /bathrooms of Meadows/Springs houses. It's a fitted metal square piece that fits into the floor like a tile and a round cover that then fits into the metal piece. Has anyone seen them around? Ours are really rusty and I need them changed. TIA Your best bet is Dragon Mart, take a photo with you

Whilst I agree the tourist went overboard, there are other factors - language barrier etc. He was charged with assault and molestation - er someone needs to look up the definition of those, because he did neither. A fine and warning would have done. 6 months in jail is overkill. Gives a really bad impression of the UAE. Wait till this gets picked up. He shoved the male police officer that came over to help his colleague and then resisted arrest - wouldn't this be classed as assaulting a police officer in most countries? I would probably also push someone away if they grabbed hold of me what out knowing why...

There are various types of Stevia products available, most of them like Truvia, Steviana, Stevia in the Raw, and Natvia have added artificial chemical sweeteners such as aspartame and sucralose, and even if they are free from these artificial sweeteners the stevia content is usually extracted by synthetic processes using chemicals such as polyethylene glycol rendering it a chemical although extracted from a plant, these substances are known carcinogens and have potential side effects. No healthier than taking saccharin and the dangers of that are well documented. Completely natural stevia in its organic form is not white, its green or brownish, and does not easily dissolve, in its pure form its not as commercially viable for use as an instant sweetener so its unlikely you will find it anywhere in Dubai. This is what real stevia looks like [url=http://www.buywholefoodsonline.co.uk/stevia-powder-1kg-1.html'>link[/url'> More info on healthy alternatives http://www.healthyeatingontherun.com/artificial-sweeteners.html edited by chezmoi on 22/04/2015 Thats great, thanks for the help

I need some advice. I need to move apartments in the next couple of months and I'm looking at possible locations. I was thinking of moving to either Silicon Oasis or Motor City. Can anyone in Motor City tell me if the cars from the autodrome make a lot of noise - and is it constant or only a couple of weekends a year etc? I've heard from a couple of people who know people living there and they said that the noise from the cars can be quite bad. Any help is appreciated. Yes, happens during the day but we live in arabian ranches and can hear it...quiet loud

Radio 4...Vicky the news reader....I find her so irritating is it just me. Her voice and she laughs so hard at things she says....have to change the radio station when she comes one....otherwise I love marwan and eve... That's Channel 4! Radio 4 is the Hindi station. Geez so many moaners. Go on, have a pop at Radio 1, 2, Virgin and the rest of them. I do wonder if people realise that their comments can be hurtful. Just because people are in the public eye, doesn't mean they don't have feelings. Would you like it if someone walked into your office and started pulling you apart - I think not. As the old saying goes 'if you have nothing nice to say - shush' and change the station. edited by FairyDust on 19/04/2015 Oh big deal....radio, channel...who cares....people like to have a moan, its healthy...if you shush the whole time you then explode...no one is taking this seriously anyway....perhaps you are, do you work for the radio stations?? are you vicky the annoying news reader??

Can anyone recommend a really great gynaecologist? I have been to so many and finally found a good one who has now left. I'm tired of explaining my whole medical history to different doctors all the time and getting totally conflicting advice. I would like to have one doctor who I will see repeatedly for the next few years if possible! I have an ongoing condition so need someone good and would really like to stick with the one doc. Dr Christian Jozsa at Healthbay clinic is amazing and I have been seeing him for 5yrs now, dont think he will leave Dubai. I had two complicated pregnancies, which he is very good with.

This morning I decided to attend my first ever mother and baby coffee morning. I've been wanting to go for a long time but I just always found myself too busy or too tired. I work 4 days a week so I had to plan this in advance. I was really disappointed with the whole experience. All the mothers seemed to know each other from before. And they were all very judgemental and seemed to keep comparing each others babies. One lady called my baby hairy. It's true but it's hurtful to hear it. I don't feel it's appropriate to tell someone that the first day you meet them. My baby was born premature with a lot of body and facial hair that was supposed to fall out by around 6 months but has not fallen out yet. Now I can't stop thinking about this. I'm so annoyed. Hi, Cowboy. Poor you, I know what mothers can be like here in Dubai. I felt so alone when we first moved here and had few coffee morning just like this. We started going to Favourite things in Marina Mall, and just loved it there. Bev, is the lady that runs the classes is super friendly and she introduce me to a few of the ladies there. I no know the lady that runs it quite well, Rachel. The offer the mums free coffee after the classes so its easy to getting chatting. My little boy has a lazy eye and you wont believe the amount of people actually feel the need to point it out to me.....like really do I need they think I dont know. I think they just idiots and have nothing else to say to you. No one is perfect, right

Ladies, any recommendations for a good, reasonably priced orthodontist here in dubai, that specialises in braces. They are for me, so not a child they are for an adult. Hope you can help Thanks G. Firstly, you are going to make a big decision here. I was a dental nurse for many years and worked with lots of good and bad orthodontists, go for a few opinions yes, will may spend a bit more but its is worth it, trust me. Doctors that charge less often cut corners and rush the work, when you rush ortho tx there is a risk that teeth will move back and I saw this a lot. I had my brace in my 20s and it was the best thing I ever did, had them done in London so it was costly but when you paying it off monthly you dont add it up. Make sure you see someone you like and understands what results you want achieved, you will seeing them every 4-6wks. My daughter is having her braces done with Dr Lina Papika at Dr Michaels, she is a very professional and experienced. I have recommended friends to see her and they all agreed.
