Please recommend a riding school with high safety standards for an almost beginner. We have started somewhere I am not 100 % convinced of. My daughter has lessons with a girl called emzi at desert palm resort horse riding school, she is great and knows a lot about horses. most of the trainers there are british

I just have to say this, it's appalling how most of the ads posted BY house help,( some of them desperately in need of a job !) go on to shamelessly specify the nationality they want to work for... So they spell out 'Western'/' European' only.. And go on to name each and every nationality from that part of the globe, just there's no mistake! I had the misfortune of a few oblivious candidates call me, by mistake of course, as they didn't know I was from the same continent they come from, and hang up on me the minute I politely answered their " what nationality madam?" Query. This is blatant discrimination and after suffering this all of last year when looking for a house-help, I've just had it and wonder why the Expatwonan staff( who are otherwise adept in carefully screening ads here) , overlook this as if it's acceptable! Because when you allow such ads to go 'live ', the message you are giving is that it is OK to 'stereotype' people, it's OK to be racist, and discriminate ( or have preferences ) towards certain nationalities.. I know most of these 'job-seekers' come from humble backgrounds and might not even have had a proper education, to know better than to have such an attitude towards people , but you lot are educated , so ignoring such ads is condoning discrimination and highly irresponsible on your part.. I am INDIAN and our house help gets treated like a family member, with love, respect and consideration... But thanks to these Ads being encouraged here, we don't get a chance! It's as if only 'Europeans' and Westerners have the right to employ house help! Such a SHAME! Its not the maid's fault, they are being cautious from previous exp. I am from India originally but moved to the UK when I was 10 and I have lots of family in India still and we know not everyone is the same but generally maids have not been treated very well by many of them. Its great that you not like many others but sadly this is the case.

Why when you call any housemaid they ask about the nationality?? Its really weird! I am like hi are you looking for a new employer? Yes maam whats the nationality?!!! Why?! And then they keep asking questions as if they are the one who interviewing youu! I just keep answering questions! Whats wrong with the housemaids?? Some nationality pay a lot less and treat them v badly and the poor things have probably experienced this. My maid has told me terrible stories of her previous employers, she was never allow to leave the house or take a day off.....people from Europe generally treat their workers much better with time off etc....I think they should ask these questions, I shows they wont be a doormat

Hi all, I am moving into a villa in the Ranches in mid May but need to move out of my current accomodation on 24th April. I am a dog lover and wondered whether anyone might need a dog & house sitter during this time - or part of it? I have my own dog (on the way over from the UK) so I know what is required - lots of walks! I am trustworthy, quiet and reliable. References available if necessary. let me know if this works for you. Many thanks Emily edited by ukehb on 30/03/2015 Why dont you join arabian ranches woman group on facebook, post on there

Could be something you've heard of/watched too. Mine was probably the time when my best friend in high school called me up to tell me that her baby sister suffered a seizure. And when I asked how and why it happened, she said "...because it's April Fool's!". Sounds horribly mean but she got me there. my older brother gave me a mash potatoes milkshake, I thought it was ice cream had chocolate sauce on and cherry. v disappointing for a chubby kid too

I am so sick of men around me just begin damn right difficult. I am not really a morning person but just get on with it. Men are like babies. My daughter threw up in her bed so at 4.30am and had to clean it up and then had to feed the dogs, take them out, shower get myself ready for work. I wake my husband up with a coffee and he only has himself to worry about and still he struggles to follow simple instructions for one simply thing I ask.....get to work the I have an aggro boss to deal with and he says to me he is tired.... Sorry don't mean to sound harsh but DONT DO IT. You have yourself to blame. Women love to play superwoman. Get up, look after yourself, don't bring him coffee, leave the dogs inside and when he finally gets up, he will have to clean up dog poop on the living room floor. You are setting yourself up for a lifetime of misery by treating him this way. Men are not Gods! edited by derien on 19/03/2015 I wish I could leave the house in a tip, leave puke on the bed while my daughter has to sleep in it....I cant...he will quite happily lets dish stack up to the ceiling....I can let me house be a health hazard...I know what you mean those. Yet again just had a very emotional experience with our pediatrician, I feel very alone here in Dubai...but very lucky to have him looking after ours. My 8 month old have been wasting away for few months with not eating, loosing weight. just confirmed to have urine infection and abnormal kidneys system..our pediatrician was really good finding this out and explaining it to me.. i feel guilty being lazy and going to clinics near home and allowing this to happen in front of my eyes, never again. Do you all feel vulnerable and far away from family as much as i do? I know now i will come to see our pediatrician for absolutely anything wrong with our two, but what if he was a way? would anyone recommend a second choice please? I have been around but not seen any one that is nearly as good, I feel dependent on him being here, but if he was away for any reason, i will be lost to find another one that i can trust. insurance is not an issue, we claim back anyway. Dr Michael Loubster at Infinity clinic is amazing, so kind and really cares, he is my favourite. If he is away then we see Dr Keith Nicols at Keith Nicols clinic v good, he a excellent reputation too

Celebs get paid to promote things. It doesnt necessarily mean they actually do use it. They look young from botox and fillers (and sneaky surgeries). Dr. Oz also gets paid by pharmaceutical and beauty companies to promote their products and then to make it out as the next best thing. There is a reason why Dr.Oz is called a snake oil salesman... Yeah, I suppose so. I just started watching him.

I'm sorry for your difficulty. But how does he or she suspect? Do your have endometriosis? Are there any other symptoms? Do you have a child? As far as the procedure, they inject you with a dye that's visible in the X-ray, then they see if the dye travels or not. Sorry I can't offer more help as this is all I've had done, mine weren't blocked. The procedure was very uncomfortable for me but I think once you get into that area, you'll be used to being prodded. I think if yours are blocked, there are various forms of treatment/surgery. Wish you the best. Thats,I had a myocetomy to remove many fibroids and we have been trying to fall pregnant now for the last year, he said that after this sort of surgery there is a good chance the tubes can be blocked. he said not to bother finding out if they are as its a waste of money he said just go straight for IVD but that seems even more expensive. How much did you pay, where did you go?

Hi, I wanted to get some advise. My mother is bipolar and suffers from depression, she has self harmed in the past but is on lots of medication now so she is ok. She has very issues with her back, so is on tramadol too. We want her to come visit us for a few weeks but I am worried about her coming through with her medication as most of it would be controlled drugs here. It seems like they not very understanding with mental health issues here in Dubai or people that are severely depressed. She will bring with her a letter from her doctor saying that she on the meds for medical reasons but wondered if anyone has known someone with these sort of problems to come here before or family member. Why....on earth have so many people given me a thumbs down for asking a question???????????? Are some people ashamed at mental health problems!!! More than 1 out of 4 people in Uk has or will a=suffer from a mental health issue..... Might been thumbed down because of the difficulties to bring in drugs your mother needs as well. I wouldn't pay attention to it. Yes, you right...sorry, get a bit defensive about this sometimes...

The protocol regarding controlled medication is that the Dr's prescription must be attested in the country of origin, then stamped by the equivalent of MOFA in that country, and then by the UAE Embassy in that country. You can reconfirm this with your embassy though. She would also be wise to have a supporting letter from the Doctor attested in the same way. Lots of people will tell you they've brought medication in before and it has all been fine, but above is the procedure. Thank you, will definitely look into getting it attested. Things can be so complicated here.

Will they do anything with me being unmarried if the test is positive? Or do I have some leeway? Totally unexpected and now in blind panic! Go to a small clinic, not a hospital. Hi All, Just posting again on this main thread as the pregnancy thread appears pretty quiet these days. I'm just wondering if there are any current patients of Dr Elsa's who know of where she is moving to from City or could ask her?? In her words I have one of the most "complex Obstetric histories" she's encountered so I desperately want to see her again to avoid going through the traumatic history all over again but can't wait too much longer. Many thanks for any help you can offer. x http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/topic232198-any-updates-on-dr-elsas-whereabouts-forum13.aspx If you have her full name, you can probably find her on facebook, clinics always lie and say doctors have gone home so you see someone else there, i found my dentist on facebook.......

Hi Can anyone recommend a very good TMJ specialist? Not just your normal run of the mill dentist who simply gives you a night guard but someone specialized in complicated cases? Thanks i suffer from tmj and had braces to correct my bite as my bite was not correct and used cause me headaches as well bad tmj. if braces are not the solution then you may need to see an oral maxilla facial surgeon, i would highly recommend of prof steen petersen on at dr michael's clinic. my husband has only had implants with him but i know he he a good reputation. lucky, i was working as a dental nurse in the uk so i never had to pay for any of this but braces really helped me. unfortunately it is one of those things that needs to be investigate by a few specialists. Masssage by physiotherapist can help too. good luck

HI, I AM NEW TO DUBAI AND JUST MOVED HERE FROM THE UNITED STATES. I HAVE BEEN CALLING AROUND PLACES IN DUBAI FOR BOTOX PRICING AND IT SEEMS LIKE EVERYONE CHARGES PER AREA INSTEAD OF PER UNIT. IN THE UNITED STATES I ONLY PAID $10-12 PER UNIT AND ONLY GOT 20 UNITS. DOES ANYONE HAVE A CONTACT FOR BOTOX HERE IN DUBAI? I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT! THANK YOU. It is really expensive here. Prepare to pay anything from 1500-1800AED for full face Stay away from the cheap places as they use watered down stuff The only 2 surgeons I have used here are Dr Rezai at Dubai Healthcare City. He uses Allergan Dr Khan who uses Dysport which is the best one I have mine done when I visit home as it is half the price of the UAE Hi, Sarahlou. Is Dr Rezai any good? Where is he in dhcc? Where is home? How much cheaper is it? Thanks.

I'm thinking about doing a 2 weeks trip at the end of the year to Australia. Would fly in and out of Sidney. Can anyone recommend a nice itinerary? Also, is it easy to rent a car a drive around? I'm mainly into beaches (surf/SUP), nature and koalas. TIA Australia is pretty big and so much to see. You definitely need to get to Melbourne as its definitely the best city there with the wineries, art and culture. If you drive along the great ocean road to Melbourne you would see lots of koaloas and kangeroos. Why do I get so many thumbs down??!! Is there anything I can do to make it moist or do you know what I can make it into without resorting to binning it? I covered it in sauce/gravy yesterday but no luck, still as dry. :( Thanks.... Boiling it in water chopped up would moist it up. I would make a thai noodle soup of some sort.
