Hello ladies, Has anyone had dental implants done recently? Can you please recommend a good dentist? How much did you pay and how long did it take? Thank you :) My husband had an implant with Prof Steen at Dr Michaels. Our dentist Dr Chris referred us to him, he also is at Dr Michaels Umn sequin branch. Very happy with results, we paid around 11000dhs for the whole procedure, including the crown for the implant which Dr chris did.

Hello all ladies, I want to share my problem and get opinion from you ladies. I am married since 3 years with alittle child. I had some problem of periodic depression before marriage, and post marriage too. After treatments I am now never having issue. Every time I have argue with my husband, he calls me psycho. He never take my complaints seriously, saying because I am pyscho, I am habitual of this. When we go grocery, he does not let me buy things I want (chocolates of my choice etc) saying either those are expensive, or I won't eat (waste) it, I feel helpless. I have kept quiet since long time, these days I feel so bad. I have started working & we share expenses, grocery is entirely his responsibility but I am unable to handle it. I hate it how he doesn't uy me things I want or forces me to take something that he likes. He says if I want to buy something he doesn't approve...I should buy from my pocket. I feel like crying , why don't I have right on his money? What should I do? You need to talk to your husband calmly and dont cry when you speak with him. Most men are not emotional and cant deal with tears, they think woman cry to get their own way. Buy your own chocolate, its not like its a gucci handbag, its chocolate not worth argueing over. It seem like the real issue is he doesnt understand your illness and that I think need addressing more as you really need support from him.

Hello ladies I've read thru the posts here and upon recommendations I took my little one to Dr Agnes rose in children's medical clinic. She was lovely and my daughter was comfortable aswell. How ever my little one is 3. She has about 8 teeth effected by tooth decay and due to her age needs to be put under general anesthesia in the hospital so that all teeth can be treated at once. Our insurance doesn't cover dental expenses, fortunately we do have the funds at hand but it's a whopping 14000 DHS. Would be very thankful if someone could recommend a used peadiatric dentist for similar procedure but a bit cheaper ...also would like to know if people think is is pretty much the price bracket for such jobs..would help us proceed with Dr Agnes rose. Thanks Get a second opinion for sure. Maybe with a general dentist instead of a paediatric as I find they do tend to push on treatment more.

I know University of Derby offers an online degree in Psychology. The degree is recognized in the UAE so that helps. Not sure if this is what you are looking for. I will start this course in February, and a high school diploma is fine, but if you are not a native English speaker you have to do an IELTS exam. http://www.derby.ac.uk/online/course/psychology-bsc-hons Hi Ladies, I can wholeheartedly recommend this course. I completed this course and graduated January this year. It takes dedication, but the support you get from tutors and students is great, despite being online i can honestly say i didn't feel alone. I took it over the 4 year pathway and really enjoyed it. The course material you get is great and there generally is a core book to buy for each module which further cements your knowledge. You can never read too much! Marroosh I wish you all the best with this course. Enjoy! Where did you study it?

Have a look at Coursera courses. I notice they have a few [i'>free[/i'> Psychology courses and even if the course has ended you can still complete the course in your own time if you log onto their site. [url=https://www.coursera.org/course/socialpsychology'>link[/url'> [url=https://www.coursera.org/course/intropsych'>link[/url'> Also check Udemy and Edx as well. Dr. Tania at Nicholas & Asp is reputedly the best Orthodontist in Dubai. Despite being warned about her poor manner (by another dentist) I still went ahead and took my daughter to her, because she does have a good reputation medically amongst her peers. My DD has refused to go back to her. Dr. Tania does not have a good 'bedside' manner, she is abrupt and not friendly at all. She comes across as quite impatient. Despite her poor bedside manner she is very much in demand, so lots of patients can overlook her gruff manner. Personally, I would have stayed with her if my DD had been agreeable. I have an appointment with another orthodontist next week, so I will see how that goes. We had the same issue with Dr Tanya at dr nic, I think it may be cause she is German. We complained and were transferred to Dr Lina at their Marina clinic, I found her excellent and good with my son, she spent an hour going through things with us unlike Dr Tanya. She has now left and they refused to tell is where she went, I luckily googled her and found her at Dr Michaels on al wasl, so we are seeing her this week.

Someone has taken my kind, sweet, caring 17 year old DD and replaced her with a grumpy, eye rolling, snappy, insensitive brat. It seems like she hates me. I have tried talking to her but she just says that nothing is wrong. Has anyone else experienced a total personality change from a teen? Teenagers are a nightmare, try not to take thing personally or be too precious about it. Its normal for them to think their parents are stupid, not trust anything anyone tells them, only their friends are cool. It will pass, hormones are awful when they are teenagers too. Watch Dr Phil's show on some teenagers and it make you grateful that there are much worse out there lol.....and you get tips on how to deal with them.

I think they all very good there but have seen Chantal for many years, followed her from Dr Nicolas and Asp, I would recommend her for difficult children too, she has the patience of a saint and is always so calm and I think the children pick up on that good energy, mine are not easy with anyone in a white coat lol....

I have been asked by a friend to ask if anyone has experience at the Osteopathic Health Centre in Dubai. Is it good?? Would you recommend it? If so then way & if not then why? I appreciate any feedback this will help my friend so much to make his decision on where to get help. I used to see osteopaths in the UK but I recently try with a chiropractor here and I found he helps with my lower back issue better than an osteopathic. I would recommend giving them a go if you a frequent suffer like me. It was the american guy at California chiropractic center, in healthcare ccity

Did anyone else attend this Halloween event at Emirates golf club? I am a bit annoyed as the had this competition where they were giving away 9000dhs cash in prizes and they said you can vote online for the best dressed costumes. We have a few kids that made such a big effort and none of the photos were online and when they took the photos they did not take down people names and contact numbers so how were they going to contact the winners??! I called them up and some guys said the photos will be uploaded on Wednesday and still not photos or mention of this competition. What I want to know is what should I do about it? Everyone paid a lot of money for the tickets and so many children entered. I think it may have been a scam....

Definitely see a vascular surgeon. I strongly recommend Dr Sobeh, he's excellent. I have vascular issues, and having had a consultation with Dr Salti I wouldn't recommend him for anything vascular. I'm sure that he's a perfectly good doctor but he cant come close to Dr Sobeh in that particular specialisation. Thanks, thats great, I have an appointment booked with him next week. Is he good with doing medical reports to help with the insurance? I need him to say I am in pain and will get worse even though I am not really I just dont like the look of it.

I rarely see jobs that interest me but this is one that I'd like to apply for. The trouble is it states on the advert that they are looking for people aged 25 - 35, for example. Even though I fit the criteria, I'm appalled that they would only open the job to certain ages. It's not a job that demands a level of fitness or anything and many people around the world do this job until they are quite old. So now I'm torn. Do I suck up my principles and apply for a job to work for an ageist company? Or do I remain sadly unemployed? That's nothing, have seen on Dubizzle 'must be pretty' or 'attractive'.....honestly only here

We are also booked to go to Bab Al Shams for Christmas Brunch. I thought the menu looked great. As long as there is turkey I am there! We went at Easter for their Easter Brunch and it was stunning. They went all out with decorations and did so much for the kids. So I am imagining their Christmas brunch will be just as good, if not better. Our mouths gaped open when we saw the desert room! Sometimes it is hard to imagine the whole atmosphere from looking at a menu :) We didn't know that Santa would arrive across the sand dunes on a camel - you wait - your kids eyes will pop out! Don't tell them before - it was magical! Just remembered..... last year bab al shams was in the Jumeirah group so that's what we experienced.....you might want to check with the new Meydan group who now run the hotel that they will be doing the same...... edited by Clairehdp on 01/12/2011 Irish village

I genuinely think its cultural. I had a lady push infront of me the other day and I said rather assertively but politely "excuse me (really loud) we were waiting!" and she turned to me and said "I just wanted to ask a question! You don't have to be so rude!!" I responded, saying "actually you cutting infront of me was rude and had you explained before doing so that you simply wanted to ask a question, I wouldn't have had an issue!" Needless to say I started laughing at the irony. She must have thought I was mad! But I did move infront of her and let her work it out with the person behind me. I think it is a cultural thing, I spent many years in Colombia and they dont queue and no one gets upset, they just all so seem know who goes next etc but like us British we love to form queues even when there is no need we all just stand behind in a line....its amazing the difference with something like this and how some cultures like order and are quite pedantic about it....

I went to get some tests done with a doctor but feel like I am not getting nor will get the care I would like. I would like to see another doctor but don't want to have to do the same tests and have to pay for them. Insurance won't pay for same tests done by different doctors. My question is, is it possible to request a copy of the results of the test and also a copy of the first doctor's report? Say you need it for your insurance, as they often request copies of the results and reports from the doctor before they pay out or approve

Hello everyone I've moved to Dubai to join my husband - I'm currently on a tourist visa as I don't have a residency visa as yet (hoping to get one when I find a job here. Getting residency through a spouse visa is difficult as we got married in Cyprus but I'm looking into getting our marriage certificate here attested at the Cypriot embassy). I'm looking to sort out some medical insurance for myself ASAP - what's my best option? Should I take out tourist travel / medical insurance for now? Unfortunately I can't be added to my husband's medical cover that he has through his employer because I don't have a residency visa here in Dubai as yet. Any advice gratefully received! Thanks Contact Luke at Pacific Prime, he is an insurance broker, [email protected] 0529851765 or 279 3805 he will give you advice on what you should do. I got my families insurance through him.

All, I feel like an absolute idiot but last week I sent a text to a taxi driver who had enquired about a drivers job with my family. I told him that we weren't looking for a driver which he replied politely to and that was that. Last night I got a text from him asking me to lend him 5000dhs. This has spooked me and I wonder if any of you have experienced something similar and should I be concerned enough to go to the police (or am I totally over reacting). My fear is that this guy knows where I live and my husband travels lot. I would just say no, remember some of these people coming different cultures think its ok to ask or are that desperate. Sure, he would not start stalking you, I would not call the police yet unless he does.

During her efforts to "adjust" filling, she drilled it so deep that now I feel a "cave" inside teeth. Never mind, at least Its not giving me pain any more. I don't feel like going back to her to re-do it. Anyone can recommend someone not so expenssive for filling? Unfortunately, you do get what you pay for here which it what I learnt the hard way. Sometimes, its better to spend more initially so you dont spend more in the long run. I only will go to Dr Michael s in Umm Seqin now

Hi, ladies. I am planning on selling nail strips here, they are 55dhs a pack and the last up to 10day. They come in all sort of colours and designs, seasonal one etc. Just doing a bit of market research to see how many ladies would be interested in buying theses. They dry immediately, super easy to apply . Takes about 15mins to do fingers and toes, lots less time that sitting in a salon. Will post my email address once I have all the strips here. Yes, I have seen them before I think.Would definitely purchase them cheaper than manicure.

Hi I just had 6 veneers placed on my upper teeth today since then I have a dull pain in both my upper and lower teeth I have just read horror stories on the net about people having severe pain indefinitely after vaneers, also I feel as if my front teeth are week and I cant use them properly to eat.Any advise or information would be great I am starting to panic that I made the wrong decision in getting them. Thanks You should go back to your dentist or get a second opinion. They do take awhile getting used to but you should not be in pain. My dentist did front crowns for me and advised me against veneers so he manged to just place white filling surface over those teeth. Which dentist did you go to?
