Hi - Click on the link on the left that says "Looking to buy or sell?". That should take you to the Qatar page. I should add -- I see this link once I'm in the Qatar forum, not on the main expatwoman (dubai) page. Also, on some of the pages at the very, very bottom have a direct link to the Qatar home page. I don't know why it's so hidden or maybe I just don't know where to look... edited by pwb78 on 14/02/2011

Good to know about how quick it is if you're a woman. I'll have to do it for my husband this year since it took him hours last year!

Just so you know - getting the inspection can be one huge chore. I drive by there everyday to take the kids to school and it is PACKED. Definitely take a book. I believe there are only 2 inspection lanes and the line is really just unbelievable. I think they open at 7am and I would be there early.

Hi - The bigger one is located across from Al Ahli hospital. Behind/under the KFC. There is also a small one in some shops at TV r/a but that's only stationary items.

Someone on another site mentioned the Egyptian restaurant - Khan Farouk - near the amphitheater. Said it had cheaper prices than the ones closer to the water and was good.

You can go to any of the little photo shops in the malls and ask for "american passport photo." There's one across from Carrefour in Villaggio, across from Giant at Hyatt Plaza and right next to Carrefour at City Center.

We did my daughter's last year and it was pretty easy. Just make sure you have all the right paperwork that's listed on the website and you should be fine. It took about 2 weeks to get back. They sent it to the Embassy and we went and picked it up there.

Just thought I'd let you know...I went to the new Messaimer clinic today and it does appear they still have a dedicated Vaccine Unit. It's on the front end of the building as soon as you drive in the gate. The nurses did my baby's four month vaccines without any hassle but they did say at the end that this clinic is more for "travelers and visitors" and they prefer the babies to go to a local clinic so they can be seen by a doctor and all. That being said, it was super quick, free and one hundred times better than the neighborhood clinics. Location is next to Qatar Scientific Club, very near to the liquor store. Off Salwa take Wholesale Market R/A (away from Al Waab) and it's down the road on the right.
