Thanks for the info scotts1, it was just the gynie from my doctors surgery. She was nice enough but thinking about it now it just doesn't seem enough. I told her that we had been trying for 8 years and that we got checked out about 5 years ago and no probs. I told her that I started using the ovulating sticks in July and that I didn't ovulate but in August I did and I guess that's why she thinks then that I'm not ovulating every month. Personally looking back I would have expected more to be done considering I'm 41 and my DH is 51. I paid AED400 for about 20 minutes with her too - what should I do? My DH is doing the sperm analysis this weekend then obviously she needs to see me when the results are back from that. Should I just tell her that I want the AMH test done? I think this is wise right?

So I went to see a gnacologist and with everything I told her, she saw no reason to run any blood test yet. My DH has to do a semen analysis first and if that's all ok then she will give me medication to make me ovulate every month. She will also do a internal examination of me next time. Does this all sound about right? Also if I do ovulate does that mean that I have no blockages? Anyway I will have to start the medication in about 4 weeks. I don't know how long to give it considering our ages. Any thoughts? I am also going to read up on IVF more - it's was definitely not something I ever would have considered but it might be our only option if all else fails.

Yes one blows in the cold air and the takes the hot air out. Before you move in get a good maintenance company to service thoroughly like Tool Time or hitches & Glitches. All the filters will be cleaned and washed and possibly re-gassed. You then need it serviced every 6 months. I live in springs and the upstairs does take a while to cool down say 2 days. If you have your A/C set at say 22 or 23 and it's still not cooling then something is wrong. With these springs villas they are old now and the AC is old but with persiverance you can get it fixed and working fine. I live in 3 bed and at night I just have on my bedroom and turn off in morning and then I leave the AC on in lounge for my dog all day. Good luck.

I been having problems again. My mum is visiting a friend near London and she is receiving my texts but I net as soon as she is home this will not be the case. I have text from 4 different UAE numbers beforehand and she didn't get any, yet my sister is receiving. Like I said before - its really distressing because there doesn't seem to be an actual reason for this happening. I said in a previous post that I did a hard reset which helped for about a day and then problems again. This is so unfair considering us expats don't have our family near :-(

Thanks hilsbils, hope your eggs are doing well. Just need to ask, so I got a smiley and this means I'm fertile but what does this mean exactly? have I ovulated or am I about to ovulate in day a days time? I find it confusing! I've ordered the clear blue monitor which increases your chances more because it looks at estrogen as well as LH surge. Anyway thinking of you hilsbils x and other women in our situation x

Today I got a smiley face on my ovulation stick on day 12 of my cycle, I was so happy, I cried! I actually feel that I am kinda normal! Trouble is my DH isn't back home until Thursday but it will be straight upstairs when he comes home! I'm still going to get some tests done and probably the AMH test considering my age so I will keep this updated for everyone :-)

If you have a shop & ship account just order one from Amazon - this is what I am about to do myself tonight, the cost is about 68 pounds for the monitor.

Just to update - so I had my period which lasts 4 days and I tested with my ovulation stick this morning (day 5) and it gave me a smiley face! Now I was quite excited about this but also a bit perplexed as this is out of the normal day 15 for most women - anyone else out there who is fertile literally the day after their period? Problem now is that my DH works away all week. This explains why I probably haven't fallen pregnant as I don't tend to have s*x the day after I stop. Would love to hear ladies.

I know this doesn't help you now but I always book weeks here and there and sometimes a whole month, of course in the busy periods like summer you have to pay a deposit at DKC but at least you have something booked. If you cancel with more than 31 days your deposit will be refunded. I hope you find somewhere. There is also [b'>Pish Paws[/b'> in Sharjah. *snigger* :) O man! Just saw this and I'm now laughing uncontrollaby at my spelling mistake!!!! Love it!!!!

Well like I said, I've never had a problem in 4 years. I have an iPhone and changed to du about 2 months ago but this only started to happen at the weekend. My sister still can receive my texts and she only lives 2 hours away from my mum so why is this happening? Its so distressing. Texting has been around for years now and I feel totally lost as to what's going on.

I bought the ovulation sticks from amazon uk. It was the first time I used these and I started testing the day after my period stopped. So not everyone ovulates every month? Is that correct? Where do I get this AMH test done, I live in the springs. Thanks. Well that would be amazing! I live in the springs and work in media city. I would live to put my lab in daycare but it's just too much money to have him collected and returned on a weekly basis. There is a daycare in al Barsha but too be honest I don't like fighting the traffic in the morning and I always thought to myself how great it would be to have a daycare nearer to where I live. I wish you lots of luck. Would love to do that myself but just don't have the funds. So if there is anywhere in the springs/meadows/media city area I would definitely use you!

That is totally bang out of order - my advice to you, if you genuinely want to stay where you are, then you need to go and register your lease in person and speak to RERA in person. Your landlord has totally done the unforgiveable. You know that if you were to register a complaint with RERA that you have the right to stay in the property until it is resolved - if it were me, I would tell the landlord that he is wrong to do this and you will register a complaint and that you are staying in the property as that's the law until its resolved - I bet he will panic big time. But this is up to you.

We are off there next year after our renewal of vows ceremony. I was looking at the prices on booking.com and was horrified! 40,000dhs for a week! I did check this morning on expedia however, and for 5 nights including flights and hotel, was around 1,000 pounds (6,000dhs) per person at the hilton irufushi. Seems pretty reasonable for a 5* hotel. The Anantara was 1,400 pounds for an overwater bungalow with breakfast. Lux Maldives and Baros was in the 1,200 - 1,600 price range. Flights were with Qatar or Etihad. As the others have said - I think using a UK based tour operator will be cheaper. Good luck! Been to the Hilton Irufushi twice, it was taken over by Hilton in 2009 when we first went and it caters well towards kids if you did want to take the little one although we don't have any. Choose you island very wisely - my DH knew of someone who goes 2-3 times a year diving and constantly boosts about going to the Maldives time and time again but he discovered that she goes to the really cheapo places. Maldives is generally expensive to keep tat away! We want to go to the Shangri La in Gan and are saving up to go. Good luck with your find.

If it is your 2nd year in the property then you have the right to stay for a 2nd year at the same rent (as long as your contract doesn't say "non renewable). A landlord cannot kick you out. You also have the right to stay for year 3,4 and so on unless they give 12 months notice to you - please go onto RERA website and the PDF for RERA law is there. A lot of people seem to think that it's ok to kick a tenant out as its the landlords property but remember the key word "Landlord" - they are renting it and only trying to bypass the system to make more money. In year 3, you check the rent calculator out but you still have a right to stay as long as they continue to rent it out. Stick to your guns and be strong, it can get ugly and stressful but that's only because they are wanting to make more money. DH and myself have experienced at this knowing we were right just by investigating everything on the Internet and RERA. Good luck.

If you've done your bloods for your new visa then your old one should already be cancelled so your DH can cancel his. DH doesn't need to be here for you to get your new visa since it's with your company. Hi there, thanks for your feedback but how do you know for sure that my old visa will now be cancelled because I've had my blood test this morning? Is there anyway that Tecom (mine) can speak to DAFZA (DHs)?

We also lived there for 3 years and moved out last year. We enjoyed our time there but sadly as this is a Nakheel area, they do not maintain the areas to the standard it should be. I am still a member of the JI Facebook community and the amount of issues is staggering. They have and still are having huge battles with palm district cooling changing supplier, residents have had their a/c supplies cut of and threatened with the police too. Security is a constant issue as its used as a rat run but slowly I think they are trying to resolve. A 12 year boy was hit by a van last week and ended up in hospital in intensive care, I believe he is making a recovery now - very sad. It could be so much better there and for the price you pay you should have a bit more exclusivity. We are glad not to be living there anymore with all the problems still. However if you do move there, try and get a villa away from the main gate - 2 mosques are being built and already there are a few villas for sale and rent on cluster 42 which is right next to the new mosque. Personally if you have a decent budget, I would definately get a villa in or around meadows 5 or the HattanHattan villas. Good luck.

I signed a "Non Renewable Lease" last year - I knew at the time I didn't want to but I didn't really have a choice as I only had a few days to find somewhere to live (long story) and I wasn't really in a bargaining position. I know from past years I have always signed a normal lease and you have the right to stay for a 2nd year with no rent increase and now I need to stay for that 2nd year. I have email RERA twice and no reply - I have looked at RERA Law 26 but nothing on there - my DH is going to register the lease very soon but I just wondered whether anyone else had had this experience or if you know what my rights are? Will RERA be in my favour? Hope you can help, Thanks.

My mom, who smoked for 50 years, was diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer which had spread to her brain in August of last year. I was afraid she would be dead in a matter of months (if not weeks). She had brain surgery to remove a plum-sized tumor in her brain and then gamma-knife surgery to zap 2 other small brain tumors. She's been doing chemo and radiation since then for the spots on her lungs. Plus regular MRI's to check her brain. By the grace of God she is doing fantastic - the doctors don't even know quite what to make of how well she is doing! But she is the exception to the rule I think (as far as having a Stage IV diagnosis I mean). It could have gone so so much worse and we could have lost her right away. :( She, thank God, quit smoking after her diagnosis. They gave her the patch in the hospital after her brain surgery was done - and she was on it for a few weeks afterward - tapering off the dosage. She still says she has the urge to smoke, and as SueB says, it is mind over matter once the actual physical cravings are gone. We are all more than aware of how close she came to losing her life because of it. I don't talk about the whole situation much with anyone, as its very emotional for me to do so. And I am sure you are more than aware of the dangerous consequences of smoking. I am not trying to lecture. Just to say that life is precious and I wish you the best of success in quitting. Thank you for sharing your story with us, I wish your Mom well. I am going to set myself a date of next week to stop and in the meantime I will cut down and do some different things - really would like to do some baking - my DH will eat anything!
