I am looking for online software that translates a letter from English to Arabic - its for my job - I normally ask other arabic employees to help out but its getting more and more difficult now and they don't have time. Any help would be really appreciated as I need to get something sorted pretty quickly please. Thank you.

Once you get over the upset of this, I think the best you can do is act as though her actions have not upset you - I always try to imagine how the person feels and I bet she just loved getting the upper hand and being a complete syco towards you but just try to toughen up and don't let her dominate - you were brave enough to confront her the first time but I think she is also a bit of coward. Good luck and I don't think you need to move and I'm sure your dog sleeps all day as does mine.

DKC (Dubai kennels & cattery) near the airport, are your number one import/export company - they will take care of everything. Just look at their website and call them, they are fantastic. Good luck!

I have always used DKC but you could always put your dog in Urban Tails, this is totally indoor, I'm sure they do a discount for that length of time - get quotes for both then cost up how much it would be to send him away for 3 months - DKC handle the imports & exports. Good luck.

This makes my blood boil, the most unimaginable thing happened to my DH last year, 33 professional years, suddenly told last year that he can either leave or take a paycut and be de-moted - did he really have a choice? no reasons were given, lots of colleagues shocked as he had made very good relationships over the years and worked extremely professionally all round - that was 6 months ago, I don't need to tell you how he feels still to this day but its sucks when you move your whole life out here and are treated like completed *h*t - he phoned several solicitors at the time here and not one got back to him - do we as employees have a single leg to stand on here???????

Breaking Bad...best thing I;ve ever watched. Have Arrested Development, Dexter and Downton Abbey 2 ready to go. Then the entire Spronos lined up plus some quirky British comedies that were shown on cable...Nighty Night and The Worst Week of My Life. Currently addicted to The Only Way is Essex (my DH hails from Chigwell!!). O yeh TOWIE - well I steamed through those the other week when my DH was away - so addictive!!! it made me feel younger again!!

I have told maids to walk the dogs when I used to live in JI, there could be as many as 5-6 maids plus dogs just sitting on the wall and talking and there was me walking a brisk pace with my labrador and I used to tell them to walk the dogs as some were large too. live in springs now near meadows 5 and walk round the big lake and emirates hills - have told the maids before to walk not stand and talk. i do see a maid with a hefty labrador, it looks so wrong as labs can suffer from hip problems. However right or wrong it is that the maid walks the dog (thread on maid walking a few weeks ago, I'm against maids walking dogs), it is part of their job - if I had to make tea for my boss, don't really think I would get away with it if I didn't (I don't have to make tea by the way!). There is a resident in Emirates hills that walks his/her dog by driving in their 4x4 at quite a speed and the white dog gallops behind it - watch out though, its quite aggressive.

We don't have children so its not so much of a necessity for us to go back to the UK. We did it the after the first year we arrived in Dubai 4 years ago for a 3 week break, stayed with my parents but it just drove my DH insane (he's 50) and then last year I went back home on my own for a week which was fine but I only get 20 days holiday and I struggled the rest of the year for our holidays together as DH get 33 days. My parents have been coming out to Dubai each year but it was (I found) so stressful being in our house with everyone for almost 3 weeks that I've tried to put my parents off coming until next year - I said that we will be coming to London probably a couple of times this year so we can act like tourists doing theatre and meals and said to my parents that they can up for the day to be with us but I don't think my mum was too happy about only seeing me for one day but I have to think of my DH - he doesn't want to stay at their house for a week, its not a holiday for him and it's an age thing as well so it can be a bit of a tricky one still without children!

That's great cakes, good to hear. I'm a black & white person, don't normally get into debates on this site but when it comes to poop on the pavements and its talked about constantly, lets face it everyone - that is disgusting and all I'm saying is that nine times out of ten, its the maids - and I do feel strongly about this subject especially when it could lead to the ban of dogs in Dubai.

As opposed to the maid cleaning the bathrooms, including the toilets? Or taking out the trash? I have to say the thought that I'm a bad employer and a bad pet owner because the maid cleans out the litter box has never crossed my mind before. Especially as the maid automatically cleaned out the pet box on her first day with us over three years ago. has Thursday come early ??? lol in my opinion... expecting your maid to empty your cat's litter box does not make you a" bad pet owner" (the cat doesn't care who clears his poop away) but it speaks volumes about what kind of employer you are..... Where did you see bad pet owner mentioned!!!!???

Please don't cross my words - I did not say that anyone was a "bad pet Owner", I am merely having my opinion that if you have a pet, then I don't understand why the maid has to look after it and clearly there are big big issues with maids not clearing up after the dog - most of the dogs I see being walked around Emirates Hills, Meadows, Springs are by maids who walk at 0% speed with overweight dogs - o my i could go on forever now. I love my Labrador to bits and look after him 100% - Pet Show this weekend!

Why should a maid have to do these chores, they did not buy the pet! Its just not right - at all. Why shouldn't they? If it is laid out in their tasks and they agree to it, why not? Should a maid not change a baby's nappy? Think about it - a dog is bought and every dog has to be walked, that is the pleasure of having a dog, is it not????????

Well if the responsible owner of the dog wasn't so lazy - the maid wouldn't have to do that chore anyway. It is the maids that don't pick up but its the owners that are at fault - walk your own dogs! isn't that half the pleasure of owning a dog?????? btw, I ALWAYS scoop my poop.

Has your DH actually registered face to face with agencies based in Dubai? If he has then great but he has got to phone them at least once a week if not twice. It has to be his full time job to find a job however disheartening it all gets. Which country are you from?

I'd explain quietly to your parents that DH is not at all happy at work and apologise in advance for any perceived rude behaviour on his part. It can't be easy for him but as an adult he should know how to behave when you have guests, including family. My DH is very quiet and not particularly sociable. He is the "strong silent type" and has a habit of looking at people solemn faced and it comes across as surly which he really isn't. When my parents visited (dad is no longer with us) they were used to him and his quiet demeanor. My dad was fairly quiet too and mum and I used to laugh when on leaving the 2 men together the silence was deafening! You could warn DH to behave properly and ask if he'd be pleased if you treated his family with such rudeness. It's tricky I know, men can be such babies at times. :) Joyceb, my parents are very aware that DH is not happy at work (been like this for over 3 years) but I will tell them to just ignore any rude behaviour - most of the time he is fine with my dad but not my mum, she tends to get the raw deal for no reason, believe me. Oh well, you have done all you can. I'm sure you have asked why he is particularly rude to your mum. Maybe he's jealous that your parents' presence takes your attention away from him. Just tell him that you won't tolerate him being rude to your mum and dad while they are guests in your home. I have my DH's BIL coming at Christmas along with 12 other relatives. He won't be happy as he won't be in control There will be other older males present ie DH, my BIL so he'll not be able to put on the alpha male thing LOL!! Men can be so pathetic. Give me a room of toddlers any day!! Here's hoping for a peaceful visit with your mum and dad :) x Thank you Joyceb ;-)

I am sorry you are having a hard time. Really as you say he will be fine when they are gone it is just manipulative behavior rather than caused by the stress of his job etc. Is there a history of your parents treating him badly? If not then they do not deserve to be made to feel uncomfortable whilst they are guests in YOUR home. Nothing worse when you are a guest - especially for 2 weeks. As you have said this is a pattern of behavoir with him you need to change the way you handle it. In my experience people do not change bad behavior unless there are consequences for their behavior. Only you know what consequences you can enact that would maybe make him think twice about behaving like this. In the meantime keep your parents out of his moody, badly behaved way and take them somewhere nice for the day without him. Hugs to you - I can remember how this feels - my father kept this up until we well into our 20's (when my mother finally divorced him0 Genie, no there is no history of my parents treating badly - my parents are pretty modern and easy to get on with (very normal!) dad is 74 and mum is 66 but they have always treated my DH really really well and he knows that.I just don't think he likes other people staying really. Its all really good advice everyone has given and I will go out with my parents and leave him at home (that's what he wants anyway) - what really annoys me is the fact that he is 50 and should know better - I just feel really quite sad but I have to put on a smile etc at home in front of my parents. Its not right any of this....

Genie, unfortunately he has no family he communicates with. I totally agree with what you say and I do speak up for myself but he always manages to outwit me and turn it around on me. So I will grin and bear the next 8 days - the moment they go, I know he will be absolutely fine. I really did start thinking last night "what did I ever do to deserve this?" I really hope he gets this job as I will go back to the UK while he works abroad still. I hate all this, it makes me so so uncomfortable - just words of wisdom will help from all of you ladies....

Hi, my parents would like to see Abu Dhabi including the Grand Mosque but some of the companies that run these tours is a bit too much, like you only get 30 minutes in certain drop of points along the way. Do you know of any chauffeur services that I can hire for say 8 hours and then they are in control of where they want to go - not interested in swanky cars and high prices - any recommendations would be appreciated please - thanks.

I know baraccuda beach resort its dog friendly.. I have just emailed them and you would need to book the superior deluxe cabanas but just read the 4 reviews on trip advisor and obviously as I suspected, not a place you would like to stay at if you like hotels - I won't be going there - shame as u would have loved to take my doggy!!
