Are you talking about [url=http://www.exhaledubai.com/index.php'>this[/url'> place? If so, they don't have a traditional 'gym'. They run classes. The only machines they have are the pilates reformer machines - which you can use as part of a class or if you take private lessons. You should probably visit and tour the place. The Pilates classes are good (haven't tried any of the others). The instructors are friendly. There are beginner level classes (look for level 1 classes). Most classes I've been to have had a couple of newbies - the instructors are very good at identifying them though and helping them out. I highly doubt you will feel embarrassed or uncomfortable in any way. Also, you can pay per class so you can always try a class and decide for yourself.

Disaster! Can I get a transformer here? I thought about cancelling or re-routing to my mother, but unfortunately, it has already shipped! And I don't think I'll be allowed to re-send it back to the US because they don't let you ship anything to the US anymore, thanks to the terrorists. I'm pretty sure you can ship things to the US (it will be expensive though). I did so two weeks ago using Empostuae. Also, DHL ships. You can get transformers in most electronic stores - we got some at ACE, DG Sharaf and I think Emax. Check out the electronics stores on the top level of the Dubai Mall. Also, make sure the Wattage on the transformer is more than the wattage on the espresso machine.

Just checked out marina motel and it is LOVELY !!! Thanks so much for the recommendation! Since they have an airport shuttle i'm thinking or renting a car when we leave San Francisco to avoid the parking issue you mentioned. It sounds like a lovely potential start to our trip...!! *getting excited* :) I'm familiar with the Cow Hollow/Marina neighborhood in SF and while that neighborhood is excellent, the particular street (highway actually) that the Marina hotel is located on is not the best. It can be very noisy / busy at all times (as it connects traffic to the Golden Gate Bridge). That section of Lombard street has its fair share of drugged out homeless people. Also, some other not so great motels on the same street and I remember back in the day there was news that the city was using some of the other motels on that street as '[url=http://www.marinatimes.com/apr10/news_homeless.html'>half way houses[/url'>'. However, it could well be the 'whacky cultural" must-see" thing' you are looking for... edited by random1 on 07/05/2013 <em>edited by random1 on 07/05/2013</em>

Highly recommend a visit to[b'> San Quentin [/b'>but you do need to book the tickets in advance for the ferry crossings, I would book an early time as it does get busy, we flew into SF last year and used Hertz then drove down PCH 1 dropping the car off in LAX. can also recommend stopping in Paso Robles or Santa Barbara to break the journey, hotel Cheval in Paso, in the middle of wine country very scenic, wine tasting in the area is great! Be prepared for misty/ foggy mornings in May anywhere near the coast, this usually burns off by mid day. May want to spend a few days in San Diego, Balboa Park v interesting and the Gaslamp area for jazz and places to eat. San Quentin is an active prison (max security i think) - I'm pretty sure they don't sell tickets. I think you mean Alcatraz!

Thanks for the update ladies! I heard the Opera music and the fireworks (unfortunately couldn't see it). Was concerned about DH getting stuck in traffic last night. However, he mentioned that traffic was 'normal' when he returned around 9:30pm.

Anyone know what event is going on in the Meydan Beach Club? Also is it going to affect traffic in JBR?

Oh boy, I wasn't expecting Godwins Law to be invoked so soon! While my communication with the caregiver was not verbal, I definitely expressed my disapproval of her childminding by stopping, looking at her and giving her the stink eye. As mentioned earlier, her response was to 'shush' the child. I don't believe having a verbal confrontation with her would have achieved much more. Either way, in my opinion, the only way to change the behavior is by trying to make the employer aware.

Interesting. I've recently moved to JBR and see some pretty bad treatment of children (usually toddlers & babies) by their caregivers on a daily basis. Maybe next time I'll be a little more vocal. However the 'gang' like atmosphere makes me nervous.

This morning (09/22) at around 10:30AM, Baby was in a red & black 'jeep' stroller. Your caregiver was ignoring your child who was crying rather loudly. Your caregiver was engrossed in conversation with another caregiver. When i looked, she aggressively 'shushed' the child. Baby continued to cry...
