Our 2 dogs have been from the UK to Oman, Oman to the UK, UK to Dubai. It has cost us a small fortune but would not have it any other way. They are happy wherever they are and if they are happy so am I !!

Mine didn't settle to life indoors very well, so we found a villa with a garden they wouldn't be able to get out of. They wont go out much through the summer, but will be able to if they wish...which I think is half the thing with them. They hate not having the choice.. That's why we're having problems finding a villa with the budget we have!! Other half is looking at JVT as the outside space is so big and most of them haven't had anything done to them. One big patch of desert!!! If you don't mind me asking, what is your budget? What size villa do you need? We need minimum 2 beds, plenty of outside space, for the dogs, max budget 90k. We've looked at Springs, Arabian Ranches, etc and they all look too small inside. Yes, the 2 bed springs and al reems are a bit small. A Palmera in the ranches might be ok, but I doubt you'd get one for less than 100k. What about the Layan and Al Waha? They are half villas but you can get them with a garden and they are definitely in budget.. You do not get your own garden with the 2 bed half villas in Layan and Waha. Only with the 3 and 4 bed full villas

Have had really long gaps between cycles, short gaps between cycles, not explained by tests so put down to stress ; very heavy bleeding and clotting which sort of rules my life for couple of days; severe PMT; depression, anxiety too which I get anyway so hard to tell if down to pm. Am going to discuss options with doc next week. Haven't got gynae yet so any recommendations welcome. Will check for other threads too. Keep us updated. Will do... let me know how you go?? If you get a miracle cure!! Have a great weekend ;)

Out of curiosty, has anyone used evening primrose oil for perimenopause/ menopause? It helps with hormone issues prior to this stage of life, so just wondered if it is effective for this? I actually already take a high dose of evening primrose oil which really does help with breast pain/aching

Licorice... I think everyone talks of the menopause but not the period that comes before it! I have thought back over the last 4 years thinking that I had one symptom after another, but not one particular one that was that bad etc... thought I was a hypocondriac on the quiet!! I was told that I would prob get it early but never thought about it when getting all these different things. Now putting 2 and 2 together.... let me know how you go ;)

Hi ladies, My buildings AC is broken again and it's ungodly hot on the high floor I live on. To make matters worse, I have a 4 day old baby who has been a champ but it's way too hot for him. My toddler already has a heat rash on her whole neck and it's spreading to her upper chest and back. What is the fastest way to cool the place down? I don't care how ugly looking the air conditioning unit is. Can I have one of those LG wall units installed within a few hours from carrefour or DG? Or is there a freestanding unit anyone can recommend? Please, I'm at my wits end sweating so much, watching my babies suffer is the worst. Not to mention I can't fall asleep between breastfeeding because its just too hot to sleep. Although I dont want to spend a lot, I almost don't care how much it costs. Thanks for any help. OMG that sounds just awful... can your LL not fix that ASAP?? They sell the portable A/C units in ACE. But you should not have to be there without AC!!

This really is no fun... I also suffer from anxiety, dizziness, muscle ache and tiredness although try to carry on as usual. I am only 38 but the chances are good for an early menopause from fallopian tube and ovary removal on one side 10 years ago.. so any more natural remedies would be of use to a few of us it seems... this subject seems to be a little taboo...

KV 7.30 as soon as it opens... Fill in the form and pay the fees... wait around 1.5 hours for that and collect. Go upstairs and take a number, have your biometics taken. (all took 3 hours in total) one week later had a text to say my card was ready for collection! Meanwhile as all the applications are automatically generated I was sent an appointment for biometrics to be taken on the 16th Sept!! (so glad it was all done on the same day) ;)

for a few weeks it will be your right hip, then it will be your left then it will be your back - it's rising and falling hormone levels ( if at that age - 40 plus ish).. I have achy arms and legs at the moment... sure they will move on in a few days and they will be replaced by something else ;) It's like when you are pregnant and your ligaments loosen due to hormones- just the same. yes... not good, but we just have to get with it and sometimes it makes it feel a little better by doing just that. What marvelous creatures we are ;)

Went along with my DD today to see a family practitioner in a well known clinic in Mirdif. DD has a small wound on the back of her leg that got infected. It was getting better as she was using antibiotic ointment on it. No fever no pain just a bit of swelling around the wound. Well the doctor wanted to give her antibiotic by IV. She wanted her to come back for 3 days then be followed by antibiotic tablets Needless to say we took the tablets and left to never go back there. A little over the top hey!... its all to make some more cash. Hope her leg is soon fixed ;)

Other half looked at a 2 bed in The Springs, said the location was lovely but didn't think we'd manage with the 2 dogs as the space looked smaller than what we have here in the UK and it's a squeeze now. I went a week last Tues. Filled out an application, went away for 1 hour went back and collected, went upstairs took a number. Got my biometrics done there and then. All in all it took 3 hours from arriving then I got an SMS exactly a week later to say I could collect my card. Job done :)

They have dresses exactly like the one on the link in Punt Roma in Mall of the Emirates (just off of the conservatory bit in the middle). They were alot less than the 69 pounds for the Boden one and also in a few different colours too ;)

Just get onto the 44 Hatta road and drive towards Hatta and you will come to loads of pot stalls and carpet sellers. We used to go in the morning (you can bargain well as you will be the first deal of the day!) and then carry on down the road to Hatta Fort Hotel for lunch and then come back with the car full of our purchases! It's only about an hour - Masafi is a much longer drive. If you're going this route remember to take your passport as you'll need it to pass through the checkpoints either side of the Omani enclave just after Madam. The pot shops are after the enclave. Or just take your ID card..;) I agree its def the best place

... the intex type above ground for the back garden. It holds approx 6000 gallons. Does anyone have any info on filling it? How? and cost? please. For those that may have bought one. are they good quality? did you use it as much as you thought? We had one when we lived in Oman... they are good but the draw backs are that the water heats up quickly and becomes to hot to use and you have to use chemicals to keep the PH right which involves then buying a test kit etc, etc. We got rid of ours in the end...
