Party World in MotorCity and the new one near Pan Furniture in Umm Sequim had so much UAE stuff. It is no longer there but I would go in and ask as I am sure they just pack it away and store it out the back for next year... same as with Halloween etc. Good luck

sounds like a sinus infection - try clarinese. I have had a cold for the last two weeks, chest infection, phlemy nose, maybe I'll give the clarinate a go. thanks all for your responses, it's so hard to get anything done with this headache! Then also try a bowl of steam with a towel over your head and inhale the steam... its exactly what my son did last night because of stuffy headachy head after a horrible cold. Worth a try.

OMG in my wildest dreams... M&S fresh food in Dubai.... It's hardly fresh food - its ready meals; which on the whole are full of cr&p so that they have a greater shelf life. MY OPINION

Just checked Ahlan is 160 dhs/per adult for the premium package (includes a porter). Standard (no porter) is 110. I know it's silly to include the porter when they only charge you 30 dhs if you flag the guys down, but for older people who maybe aren't so travel savvy (and tired, etc. etc.), might be the way to go. Marhaba is $26 (they give price in USD) for the bronze (standard) and $41 for the silver (with porter). Very useful thanks!

I recently bought one in Mirdif City Centre. On ground floor, close to Carrefour, is a big shop with office supplies. Can't remember name, but they had quite a few laminating machines. Its called 'Office Depot'

Congratulations on your getting married tomorrow! And good luck with the move, I'm sure you'll make friends easily through coffee mornings and mums-and-tits meet ups, probably less likely to be isolated if you were working and have no time for coffee mornings. mums-and-tits?? Wow really... lol ;)

Hi Everyone, My family and I are relocating to Dubai mid January. I have a 4.5 yr old and a little girl of 18months. As i am also giving up my job to come over with my partner I am anxious that I might feel isolated and lonely when we get there!! Any advice or contacts that would be helpful would be greatly appreciated. We are in temporary accomodation for the first 4 weeks and then hope to rent in the GReen community area. Partner are you not married? Took the words right out of my mouth... Expat woman have organised coffee mornings each week that you could attend and I believe there are a few Mum's groups with young children groups also... I think the info you would need is on here or someone with young kids could advice. Welcome... edited by roysie on 06/12/2012

thanks roysie - will give it a go after the rain. I'd switched it off completely the last few days after the deluge we had here. Now to work out how to adjust it, which means a crick in my neck, a pain in my hip and aching knees due to the bending, twisting and kneeling that's needed to get to where the timer's located! That makes me sound like an old crock! ;)

Beed help i'm in Arabian ranches and I need to post cards to Australia and uk I'm assuming I have to do this at post office. Looking at website I think my nearest is al barsha but it doesn't give the address or map. Tia From AR, use umm Sequim Street, take the left at lights where you would turn up to MOE and Lulu. Turn 1st right again as if going to MOE or Lulu it is literally on your left with blue signage.

I did the search on here. Good thing I read this...almost sent our two guests who are here at the moment there...Thanks for the tip 06/11/2012 16:36:25 • quote English Rose Posts 3 Hi - when I enquired of the Hatta Fort Hotel for activities during my stay in December, I was informed that they are not taking Hatta Pools excursion bookings, as there is no info available on when the construction works are going to be complete and the road will reopen. Sorry to be no help, but I too would love to know if anyone has any more info. 25/10/2012 19:45:21 • quote goldengirl Posts 27 Last time we drove out to Hatta Pools we couldn't get past last border crossing (lone guy on dirt track). We eventually figured out that this was because roadworks were going on. This was about 4-5 weeks ago. Has anyone been to Hatta Pools lately? Road still closed? edited by roysie on 01/12/2012

If you do a Hatta Pools search, you will find that you can not reach it at the moment because of the major road works in the area, they have diverted traffic away from the route.
