Hey ladies. Congratulations to everyone on their pregnancies. I'd posted on here a month or so ago, but somehow, it seems to have disappeared. I'm due early June, but as the baby will be delivered via c-section, I'm going to be a June mum too. Nearly 19 weeks now. This is my second baby. My first was born in Jan last year. Was wondering if any of you are also second-time c-section mums, with such a short gap between the two babies. I'm a little nervous about that.

Hey ladies. My due date for my second baby is July 7. My son is now 11 months old. So I can imagine, I'll have my hands full in summer. However, due to a c section, I'll probably deliver end of June. Glad to see so many other second, third and fourth timers here! Was wondering if any if you have had 2 c sections, and what the recovery is like the second time around, with a heavy toddler to play with.

It is. I know Caboodle are doing a father's day event at their Dubai Mall location, the card shops have the cards all over. And the only restaurant I got an sms for father's day, was from Roberto's, where all dads get a free glass of grape :) I was looking for other options besides the one restaurant i know of.

I second the vote for Dr Elsa at City Hospital in Dubai. She's absolutely brilliant!

Hey KH, I chose to have a C-section done for the birth of my first child three months ago. No complications. No reasons. Purely out of choice. I don't fancy labour, and I refused to allow an episiotomy to even be an option. I also didn't want to stretch or feel any different down there. The operation was a breeze. No pain. I was calm and peaceful, looking into my husband's eyes as our son came into this world. We had our wedding song playing in the background. My son was born in peace, serenity, calm and silence. No screaming, no labour no pain, no fear. Just a pure, calm and welcoming energy for him. And yes, the first few days after the operation hurt more than I can describe. Perhaps I have a very low tolerance for pain. Perhaps the nursing staff couldn't understand my needs. Regardless, it was an indescribable 4 days of suffering. Then then, miraculously, by the fourth night, I could walk again. In agony, but still, it was the first real walk I was capable of. By the fifth day, I was out of the hospital. To celebrate my son's first week, we went to the park. By the end of the first month, I was out in the desert, camping. Compared to your three months, my one week seems the less painful option. I defy anyone who says a VB is the "natural way" of birthing (what's so natural about induced labour anyway?), or the preferred way to bring a child into this world. The only way that's natural is the one that works for you. That's the preferred way. And don't let anyone convince you otherwise. I would choose a pain-free, welcoming birthing experience any day over a painful, distressed one. And as for the pain after. Either way, it's excruciating. Why not opt for the lesser of the two evils with a shorter pain timeframe and a more empowering birth?

There's a store called Lovin My Bags in Palm Strip Mall. They restore designer shoes too.

I'm going to Dr Nasseri for mine. He has his clinic n9ine, at Healthcare City, and delivers at City Hospital. Besides maternity, he also specialises in aesthetics, so I'm pretty confident my scar will be neat and tidy.

Hey Dashing Dan. I can't speak for nails and eyebrows, but the Sisters Salons are the only ones I know that offer a Lycon wax. I go to Marina in Mirdif City Center. She's amazing for her lycon waxes. I believe there's also a Sisters Salon in Dubai Mall. My MIL had her nails done at Sisters and they looked pretty good, so you could give that a shot too. As far as prices go, Lycon is obviously more expensive than regular waxes. I suppose you should expect to pay about 25% more than you normally would. Hope that helps.

We found a little fluffy black dog in Mirdif, very close to to St 71 (Aswaq Supermarket). She appears very friendly and is clearly someone's baby, but she has no ID or collar on her. My husband found her around 7pm this evening. If she's yours, call on 050 6328176 or 050 6288214

I'd definately recommend Sisters Salon for a Brazilian. Like many women, I dread my waxing appointment. But Sisters use a Lycon wax, which is a lot less painful that most waxes. Also, I go to the one in Mirdif, and only go to a girl called Marina. She talks methrough it and keeps my mind off the pain.

Hey ladies. I've been so excited the past weekend and wanted to share my news with you. I finally felt the little one move a few days ago. It's the mildest little feeling. Like a little butterfly pushing your inside with a feeler. But it's unmistable! The other thing I've experienced, and I'm not sure if this is the baby or something else, is this feeling in my stomach. Sometimes I can feel where he is and if I touch, that area seems bumpier or harder than the rest. Is that the baby I'm feeling? P.S. I'm 19 weeks now. Kisses to all you other mums. edited by Ruby_A on 27/08/2012

Thank you RubyRed and Grunerbaum. I feel so much better knowing I'm not the only one opting for a c-section. I'l call both City and American and find out when I can visit. P.S. 18 weeks tomorrow and I feel wonderful. I get the odd pinch and pull, which I gather is just stuff stretching and being pushed into place. lol. Really excited as we're nearly half way there. As I said before, this is my first, so every moment feels like an adventure. :)

Morning ladies. So today I'm 17 weeks and 5 days. Been going to the Isis Clinic for my check-ups so far, but I need to start looking for a hospital. I've heard a lot about City, but was wondering whether it's pro natural birth or C-section. Thing is, I know some of you may disapprove, but I would like to opt for a C-Section. I don't really want to deal with the excruciating pain of labour. And I know my mother was asked to have a c-section wtih both her pregnancies, as she was too small for a regular birth. Me, i have the same narrow frame as her. Even now, at nearly 4 months pregnant, I still weight under 50kg. My last concern is that by the time the baby comes, I'll be 36 years old with my first pregnancy. All this makes me want a c-section to avoid any complications at the last minute and to ensure peace of mind. Do any of you ladies have any recommendations of which hospitals I should start looking at? I'm totally at sea here. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

Morning everyone. I've just joined the EW forum this morning and was so excited to see this thread. Like the rest of you who have posted here, I'm due in January 2013 too. It's my first so everything is a major discovery right now. I'm 16 weeks and have started showing so am in the stage of flaunting the baby bump! lol. But more seriously, I've got concerns about doctors, hospitals, policies, etc. I'd love to talk to other mums going through a similar experience. Would any of you like a coffee morning. edited by Ruby_A on 05/08/2012
