I was just researching it online and it says it can last from 2-4 months depending on your hair type. If you buy the voucher now, its valid for 60 days from the date of issue. I used to go for Yuko, but its twice as expensive as keratin, and it takes 4-5 hours...and needs to be repeated every 8 months or so. Sounds like Keratin is a better option financially, I just hope the results are as good.

South Africa ;) My friend found that you couldn't get decent Biltong here so she used to make her own, She bought a 'dryer' and spices from South Africa, and set up a little production line, although before she had the dryer she just air dryed it.

There are quite a few stables here to ride at, I guess it depends where you will be living as to which one is closest to you. Here, horseriding is very much a sport 'enjoyed' in winter, during the summer months its only early mornings and evenings under floodlit arenas. Most stables here offer horses to lease, so it would be a case of riding a few horses and finding one you get on with. As for the tack business...It depends what it is really. There are a few tack shops here that sell pretty much most things, however the range is often quite limited. It might be worth getting in touch with some of the shops to see if they would be interessted in buying your stock. you can try with http://www.horseworld-me.com/ HTH

Yep, sounds about right...they will get you any which way they can, although why would you go to an ATM when the smallest note they give out is 100dhs. Usually I just get in, then tell them where i'm going, and I've never had a problem. If one were to refuse me, then I would call his head office and report him from the back seat of his car as they are not actually allowed to refuse you. As for the issue with the change, again, I try to have smaller notes on me so I've never had a problem with that but I do hear this is a common trick of the trade. Personally I think it should be up to the driver to have change.

Depends which direction you are coming from...If you are coming from Al Khail road, turn into the springs, keep going straight all the way to the end, take a right, and its there infront of you. If your coming from SZR, enter emirates hills, take a right at the round about with the fountains, keep going straight untill you see the mosque on your left. Its very easy, especially on a friday where you will see so many cars parked outside that you cant miss it. HTH

Yes - the vet is right which is bizarre because from the UK we were told the rabies jab is good for 2 years but the agent we used for clearing here in Dubai made a point of telling me to set a date in my diary to get the rabies shot every single year before the year is up - one day over and it all reverts back to tests and delayed departure.....thank god I used her! These new rules don't come into effect until Jan next year though.... There are rabies vaccines available that last for one year, and then there are some that last for 3 years. In Dubai the rule is to have the rabies vaccination done every year, regardless of the fact that the current vaccine is valid for 2 years. Its a bit silly, but what can you do?

As far as I know those plants are not poisonous, could there have been something else in the garden, maybe something one of the neighbours threw over? I probably would not go with the youghurt option (dogs dont digest dairy very well), better if you can starve them for 24 hours, (or give some boiled rice, with very well boiled shredded chicken breast in small portions if they are the type that love their food) and give them only water. If there is no improvement or they get progressively worse I would go see the vet. HTH

I usually exchange mine here in Dubai before leaving, not sure if its a better rate, but I like to be organised and have local currency at the ready. I know a friend of mine exchanged some USD at the airport in Jordan and the rate wasn't as good as what I got in Dubai. HTH

You definitly did the right thing and I agree with Crystil, you know how to deal with it better the second time round because after the first time you think of all the things you should have done or should have said. When I was younger we had a treehouse that overlooked a sand lot. On a few occasions a man would stand in the sand lot, watch me and my brother playing in the treehouse and fondle himself, fully exposed. Then when I was a little older I saw a man playing with himself while he was waiting for his dog to do his business...he waited for me to walk past then slightly turned towards me and said something, again fully exposing himself. Then the third occasion was just a few months ago I was at the beach, minding my own business, reading a book. Something caught my eye and i lifted the book up to find this complete pervert standing up in the water with his pants down, playing with himself. I started shouting at him and mentioned 'police'. This got his attention, but he was in no rush to put it away. Eventually he did, went for a casual swim and got back in his truck. 10 minutes later he was back (fully clothed this time) chatting on his phone. I just cant get over these animals! I understand that they have urges, and they probably only see their wives once in 2 years, but there is a time and a place for that kind of thing...They have NO shame!!

This depends on how many bedrooms the apartment has. They say 1 family per apartment, but it doesnt specify how many family members this is.....I guess most people would be logical and not cram 10 people into a 2 bedroom apartment.

They constantly change their proceedures and dont tell anyone. . The best thing to do is to get a health certificate from your vet to say he/she has checked the animals and has found no signs of contagious diseases and that the animals are healthy and fit to travel. This then means you wont need to take them to the cargo village (as DesertRain said, he wont check them anyway, he will only check the microchip) Take all the paper work to the vet at the cargo village and he will give you an export permit. usually it will be both the dog and cat on one permit, but you will still have to pay 200dhs for each animal...there is also a 10dhs charge for the good old 'knowledge fee'! When I was there last week we brought the cats into his office in carriers, and at the time there was a lady with a maltese on a lead, so I dont think they mind small dogs, its the big ones they dont like (also, you have to walk through the customs building to get to the vet so you can imagine how many people will run for cover if they see a big dog!) Hope this helps :)

Unfortunately you wont get any sense out of them over the phone.... You will need original vaccination books, and copies of them, your passport copy, A rabies blood test certificate if this applies to where you are going. Also you will need an e-dirham card (make sure its the one with the chip, we found out the hard way that we couldnt use the swipe card, only chipped cards) We ended up paying cash, but im not sure this is the norm. They are open 24/7 so you can go anytime. If your do is a lare do you may not be able to take him into the buildin so you might want to take someone with you who can wait in the car. edited by Sabrina H on 21/06/2011

to be honest, kittens that age should not be in catteries, as nadadanada said, chance of catching something is quite high, besides, any reputable cattery will not accept kittens who are not old enough to be vaccinated. Not forgetting that June-Spetember is the busiest time for kennels and catteries, so chances of finding a cattery with space available is quite slim. She should probably look into other options too.

I'm not saying they eat the flowers but there IS something that they pick at certain times. I just can't remember what it is...will check with my maid.. I think what you mean is 'toot'. Its a red berry that comes into season this time of year. I noticed the ones on our tree are ripening, They are actually very tasty! :)

Seems odd that they would want you to ripp up the garden when surely the fact that a house has a 'mature' garden, its more of a selling point than a sand pit!

I have seen garlands made out of these flowers in Lulu, so maybe they are making their own. Indians/Hindu's use them for celebrations such as weddings and also for worship at temples. http://www.maharaniweddings.com/2009/02/the-tradition-of-jai-mala/

I went to Choithrams in the springs and was told (while the cashier pointed to a sign hanging from the ceiling) "Sorry, we are not selling today, you come tomorrow, no problem" I then went to Le Marche in the Ranches, and they were selling them....What a b****y pointless thing to do, it's not going to stop anyone smoking, it will just make them go and buy cigarettes elsewhere.

Dent master only do paintless dent removal. If the paint is damaged then the whole panel will need to be painted. I can highly recommend X service center, (BMX specialist). Of course this also reflects the price, but they have always done a great job. Their number is 04-3395033 and they are located in Al Quoz. I have also used Max Garage (04-3408200) on the Um suqeem road before and they were cheaper, but not as good. I guess it depends on the extent of the damage, and the value of the car, but I would go get a quote from a few places and make a decision then. HTH.

This is my Oh's dream car too....he drools over pictures of them on Ebay everyday! I do know someone who owns an original, but I dont know him well enough to ask. There is a garage in Dubai I think it's called Capital manufacturing they started importing kits and were selling them made to order, might be worth getting in touch with them, maybe they have a lead. (I can't find their contact details, but they are located on the umm suqeem road, a few warehouses before Max Garage if you are coming from the Al Khail road) You can also try with .emiratesmustangclub.com, as many Cobra's have mustang engines, so there might be a few in the club. Hope this helps.
