Maybe give us some details on what budget you have. I know a good real estate agent, will find her number and let you know.

I used them today, no issues at all, Terminal 2 is the way to go actually, Flown with them a good few times now, only in and out of Dubai to Doha and Sri Lanka never had any real problems, would recommend.

I was at Al Muna recently, not too impressed to be honest, restaurant was over crowded, it was like a cattle market at the food station, and drinks were very slow in coming. So wont be going there in the near future.

hi, salsB i have got 2 weeks serviced acc from the company / visa is underway and will find some one/where to share with till i can get a flat hopefully after a few months ill get my hand on my own place :) The last time I looked, no sharing is allowed in Dubai, so best check it out in case, as rules change like the weather. Happy home hunting, and a warm welcome to you in March.

yes bit steep for me on my own!! WHAT A SHAME! hayho ....the search continues :) You will not be able to rent out any apartment initially, you will need your visa first. Literally everyone goes into temp accommodation, ie, serviced hotels. Unless your company already has accommodation for you.

I had a 3 bed apartment in JLT, cooler for 11 months was 12,700, Dewa was around 300 per month, Du package was 600. Housing fee will be 5% of your monthly rent.

So based on the 7000, rent is 140,000 a year. Seems abit steep.

As of last April as far as I am aware, Royal Mail only let you redirect for 2 years max, as I received a letter informing me that I can no longer redirect from the original address.

I'm no expert, but surely they can't ban him if he was on a fixed 4 year contract, which is ending. I also thought they don't ban people now!!! could be wrong thou. Does his contract say what notice is required?

Personally I would consider buying a second hand dress, but would I risk buying it without trying it on, and would I trust the seller, especially from overseas, the answer would be no, what if the dress isn't as immaculate as you think!!!

I am sick to the back teeth with greedy LL's, handed my apartment over last Tuesday, and again he witheld half the deposit, had no excuse, he just said he wants 2 bedrooms painted. There was nothing wrong with the bedrooms, its enough to make anyone cry in temper. Do you think it helps if you take pics before you move in and agree on it with LL. And then take pics when you leave, so you can see they're the same? Not sure if then you can go to RERA, can't be normal that LL can just decide to keep the deposit just because they can. We took pictures when we moved in, LL had already decided he wanted to keep the deposit, he turned up with no cheque book or any money, it was only after I went on one he gave me some money back. Our LL last year did exactly the same. Our tenancy wasnt registered with Rera, not not sure where we would stand. We have moved out of Dubai now, and the way people scam us isnt any better, just got to hold my breath and hope for the best!!!!!

Now would be a good time, they are young. I had a friend in the UK that took their DD out when she was around your kids age, did her no harm. Exploring the world is an education in its self. Have fun. I took my DD out of school when she was 9, only for 6 months, she wasnt harmed by it either. I did however, buy maths and english books from WHS to make sure she was having some lessons. edited by salsB on 24/01/2013

I feel your pain. Do like I do, i only make calls to my DD and mum now, decided this afew years ago, and no i never receive any calls from anyone in my family. We are special, we do count, but some people forget this....

Get a second opinion.... Maybe ask DKC... Ask them for the current requirements, they have always been very helpful. Show the vet the links which have been provided here, they are official DEFRA requirements, then see what he says. Dubai is a listed non EU country so no blood test required for UK entry. My friend shipped her dog back last year, no blood test..! I am using DKC to export my cats to Qatar, they are very good, would recommend.

Lucky for us we already have the letter from the bank. It did take abit of patience, Hubby management to get it all sorted over the phone and bank couriered the paperwork to me. So as mentioned there is no need at this stage to go to RTA just to change the ownership of the car from Bank to Hubby?? seems to easy. lol

going back to 2008, hubby bought a brand new car here, a Pajero, shogun to UK people, now paid off and we felt no pain or burden with the monthly payment. Bought for 130,000. just sold it and made profit. Lots of decent cars for sale, built for the conditions here. I would never bring a car from the UK.

As you have said this is for ONLINE - it does have to be stringent to weed out real fraud. I did not have to supply my NI number as far as I can remember and address is not an issue for me as I have a house there with bills. True, I am still not resident 100% there. edited by spongemonkey on 12/01/2013 Is being a resident a little like being pregnant? You either are or not? yes if you have a resident visa of the uae in your passport then you are non resident in the uk lol. I am no longer a resident in the UAE, so does this mean i am now a uk one??? still in Dubai thou.

Use your blue card and HSBC credit card and earn double miles. If you have missing miles, ring the bank and they will sort it, did for a friend awhile back.
