I use them often, no problems at all. In the UK doctors prescribe 5mg x 3 times aday. In Dubai they come in 10mg tablets, so you only need to take two daily. Cost of these are 71.50 dhs.

Ive never done this to the UK, but pets on jets based in manchester will be able to guide you through the Import paperwork. Dubai Kennels and cattery in Dubai can help you with exporting paperwork. You could use a relocator, but it can work out abit expensive. It all depends on your budget ofcourse.

Try your own bank first. Does your company loan offer you a interest free loan and you pay it back monthly. My DH company at the time offered this, it was a godsend when we originally moved there in 2008. Im not to sure if companies offer this now, as too many people up'd and left, leaving a mountain of debt.

You need to live on the Pearl to join also. Alot of ladies advertise their business on the FB page, yet any outsider cannot be part of the group... I would of thought that they would of wanted a much larger audience to be honest. Obviously not..... A bit stuck up in my opinion.

My aunt had this done in April, it was keyhole surgery, 3 incisions made, and she was only telling me the weekend, its the best thing she has ever done. The stones themselves came out through the tube.

I lived in Armada 3, maintenance wasn't brilliant, could never speak to the anyone, had to complete a form for repairs etc, and had to hand them to security, many forms went missing, as for the pool, never maintained and water was always cloudy. Cooler costs were 13000,00 for 11 months. The management would not let us vacate the building without landlords permission.

Isn't your employer giving you any allowances for accommodation. Its not really a good sign that you have just arrived and need to save up for your rent. Flat sharing is illegal in UAE. I know people do it, but just be careful. My company didn't do this when I came here - I had to borrow 3 months rent for the initial payment from a very new friend, who already lived here - as the company had learnt their lesson and stopped giving advances! This is a huge problem that people aren't made aware of before they move here - that they will need loads of cash ready to pay out for - rents, phones, photo's, etc ... We were initially given our advance too. I so remember with the rent and car loan and furniture allowance mounted into quite a large sum, couldnt sleep worrying if it all went bottoms up.

Im sure you wont be bringing anything in that can have you imprisoned. lol Oh Gosh, no. But as Hamra said what we think is harmless may have quite another interpretation to another. It's my personal hobby but I just don't want to offend anyone. Feels like a grey area... Do not bring any codeine or the likes. If you have prescription meds, get the doctor to give you a note. No DVD's showing any over 18 scenes. You cannot bring in any alcohol either. edited by salsB on 18/08/2014

All the shops are at it, even Spinney's. Bought fresh prawns fro there once and when I got home and opened the bag, they were totally off...... I check dates now. I bought prawns from Geant the other day within the date on the package and they were off. I cant believe stores would risk it with seafood! becareful I don't think they care to be honest. When I took my prawns back, they were like " what do you want us to do" lol.

I couldn't upgrade on a recent flight, so asked how much for cash, far to much for my liking, so at the airport I asked again and it was half the price. I have had much the same issues on not being able to upgrade with points to the UK..... so basically the points are becoming worthless......

My DD married an Arab ( not local ) last year. His family are quite traditional, they were also open to him marrying a Christian. DD will not convert, this is ok by her husband and his family. Their unborn baby will follow Muslim traditions, but also will learn and understand our faith too. If I was to sit back and this was happening to my DD, I would see she would be walking into a very unhappy marriage. .... OP you need to think long and hard...

Lifesavers are not run by professionals. They have over 20 animals in a bedroom, there are no separate cages, all the animals share the same space, so cross infection etc.. they both do not have any personal income and plead for donations... They have been caught out lying, many times. Please take my word for it do not use these people. If you do want to go thru these people, please visit their premises and see for yourself...... Trust me...

The one day thing doesn't apply to children any more but they can get it in a week I think... Applied for my son's renewal in the UK on 24th July and it came last Thursday so just over 2 weeks... I should of mentioned the one day service doesn't apply to children. At the time the passport office were not offering the week service for passport returns. edited by salsB on 13/08/2014

Never experienced any back handers to agents. Yes the may say there are alot of people that are viewing and you need to make quite a quick decision. I would soon tell someone where to go if he rubbed his fingers together.... It is a compound with its own lettings and we were dealing with the manager . It is a popular , established older place. I came across it by researching on this forum. My husband has had a telephone call to the guy and thinks a month's rent will do it and fathoms it the same as the agents fees but of course no receipt . I disagree and frankly though we had left this type of corruption behind but who to inform if it is indeed illegal ? If you really want to rent this place and pay him for it then, thats upto you. No receipt either!!! never came across this to be fair. Not sure if this would be of any interest to you, I live in Gharaffa and a 5 bed villa ( not old villas thou, around 2 years old ) full maintenance, one owner and own security is coming up for rent early September on my compound. When we moved in we had no commission fees, and its not a bad place, only a small compound of 13 villa's, secure little road, all the kids play out the front, has a pool, a very close to Lulu and Landmark. edited by salsB on 13/08/2014 edited by salsB on 13/08/2014

Good for you SalsB & congrats on your GC! Do you stay at home or do you rent somewhere and people come to see you there? Our house in the UK is rented so we have to book into a hotel or rent somewhere if we don't stay with our folks. When I go back next week I will stay with my aunt (shes the same age as me ) My MIL has plenty of room, but cant stomach her... lol. Hubby is coming home for 2 weeks, so I will probably find a hotel for that duration.

I always felt torn each time I went home. So exhausting, and I just basically sat back one day and thought "why do I do this". So now I do as I please, running around visiting people constantly was just no fun!!!! things had to change for me anyway. I am going home next week for 2 months, (DD expecting her first baby early Sept ) the only exceptions where I travel to is to my 2 daughters and my grandchildren. If anyone wants to see me, they know where I am. Hard I know, but at the end of the day, it's my holiday.....
