Slightly diff scenario, but...... Was at Riva beach club, sat on the beach, hundreds of sun beds available, a family of 4 ( no young children ) decided to sit a coupe of sun beds away, they had the bear face cheek to ask me to put my cigarette out and informed me I smoked of much, and one of the family was allergic to smoke. I was gob smacked. People here can so annoy me, who do they think they are????? edited by salsB on 05/09/2012

Excellent, I'll look into them. Can you tell me, does it take long to register and get an appointment like here in the uk where it takes about 3 weeks? Do you have medical insurance? you will get an appointment literally straight away.

My Hubby has been sponsoring our DD for nearly 3 years now, we had to pay the costs thou, which was about 3500dhs. Hubby's company sorted everything out for DD they even paid the deposit, the process was very quick and simply as the company PRO is excellent. If your daughter is coming to work, I wouldn't mention to her employer that she only wants to work for a year.

I agree a low fat diet is the best way to go!!, very hard for me, I lost 7lb recently, starting swimming, had to stop as I now have 2 slipped discs in my upper back. Returned from the UK last week, put the 7lbs back on, then lost 2. My life is so exciting, lol

It's all very confusing. If hubby takes holiday and he isn't in Dubai they take his weekend off him. If we don't go anywhere he gets to keep his weekend!!!!! So best to lie, lol

If you are a resident here and don't work, then you wont have to pay tax!!!!! As I was aware that when we first arrived here, hubby had to be outside the UK for a full tax year, otherwise he would have to pay tax on his return. For example, we arrived in the July 08, and if he wanted to return to the UK, then he would have to wait till April 2010. I could be wrong as I know things change. We completed a tax form before leaving, so IR are aware we are outside the UK.

When I book holidays, always tend to research the local culture of the country I am visiting, once I booked for Turkey, on reading I was informed, not show souls of your feet and using tooth picks were classed as rude. So surely when visiting the UAE and doing Abit of research, holiday makers will find local rules and regulations. Msybe they are just plain ignorant!!!!!

Ok thank you salsB, how would if affect my labour card if I had to start the visa process through DH's work again? For example, if I had a vius through him, had started working with my company and then he decided to change jobs? Would my labour card then get taken away? Its your employer that provides you with labour card, doesnt matter if you change visa due to hubbys new job.

If hubby moves jobs then the new visa process will have to begin all over again. So you will have to do the visa run each month until you have your visa. As for you company sponsoring you, it would be you a tied to them more so than if you hubby does.

We love Market Place at the Crowne Plaza in Deira. JW Marriot has The Market Place too, seems strange both hotels having the same restuarant name. Bamboo in JW Marriott is great for a group lunch.
