Any idea if any of them might be moved into the week? Most holidays are on a weekend have been since we have been here.

Rock Bottom Tecom is good, music is fine up till around 12ish, when the tunes change. I do like some R&B. A good mix of people too, all friendly. Free Vodka from 11 till 1am. Before that head over to the bar at the Westin, then go to Grand Habtoor's Horizon for a few cheeky freebees. Enjoy.

Thanks salsB, that's really helpful. I've been quoted for taking one on a 2 year lease and it works out at over AED80,000, so can't help feeling I'd be better spending a bit more and buying one. At least that way I'd get somethnig back when I sell. I believe they hold their resale value well and have a high reliability rating. 80,000 for 2 years, seems such alot of money doesn't it????? I suppose you do have the safety net of handing it back without any come back. We had finance, lucky for us we do have money set aside to pay of the debt. I do believe the car may hold some value, but who knows till we get a quote.

A lady I was chatting to recently was going back to the UK with her cat and she was quoted 9,000dhs. This was to include the carrier etc. I am sure if the pet carrier is large enough cats can share, so this may cut down the costs.

What's your point? I was just saying that THERE ARE good Indian curry places in Dubayy Where? I am always so disappointed when I eat Indian here. You get all the worst cuts of meats etc and the Butter chikcen in always discusting. Please where can I go for a good curry? Ravi's, across the road from Burjaman Mall, really lovely, and I am so fussy about my curries.

The Talk at Movenpick at JBR is quite nice, food is lovely. If you are booking a large table, drink service can be slow. Prices start at 199 ( no alc) 299 for standard package, and the dearest is 540 ( I think ). Al Marooj Rotana near Dubai Mall was 199, havent been since the winter, 199, food good there too. edited by salsB on 08/10/2011

Western Union, get your sister to find the nearest one and you can send money directly. What a shame, some rotten people about. I so do feel for both of them. Maybe do a search on Western Union and find the nearest location to where she is, and get the money sent asap. edited by salsB on 04/10/2011

In the week I was up all night with toothache, I sat on my balcony and watched a fella working thru the night and was still working at 10am, I put a large bottle of water in the freezer to get it really nice and cold, handed it to him along with a 100dhs, you should of seen his face, he was speechless. Come on it's not that hard to give a helping hand to the less fortunate. edited by salsB on 03/10/2011

My OH is in construction, he gets every 2nd Saturday off, but he has been known to work every Saturday for weeks to get the job done, he has been repaid back with days in lieu. His contract does say he needs to work as and when required. He has also been known to work a few weeks without a day off to meet work demands.

Thanks Sals. The home is very empty without his ginger cuteness. Just driving me a bit insane that we'll never know what happened to him. And I pray that if someone has him and they're not going to give him back, that they take him to the vets, he was due to have deworming and stuff for mites placed on the scruff of his neck but had a slight bulge after a vaccination so I was holding off a few days. But he really needed something for the mites :-(

As long as the micro chip number matches all the paperwork then I cannot see this being a problem. Having a new chip doesnt mean its a new cat. I would get a second opinion TBH.

My OH leaves at 05.20am and gets home around 6.30pm, depending on traffic, he also works in AD. Its a hard life, but his hours are no different to his hours back at home. Just the heat and humidity is the killer.
