As I see it the UAE is as stable as it can be, the people here ( as I understadn it) are well looked after and love their leaders, I just cant see any troubles heading to our shores!!!!! If conflict does occur with surrounding arab states, our embassies may assess and recommend we leave. I just cant see any real troubles ahead in AD, Dubai etc. I really wouldnt worry.

I dont live in the Mansions, but I pay cooler charges per month, they charge on square footage. Our's is 4.1fils per square foot. The mansions do like nice thou, Im looking to move buildings shortly, may take a look.

Dear Birmingham, I would like to thank the local police for allowing 6 thugs to get away when they attacked my 5 month pregnant daughter. I would also like to thank the police for letting an armed bank robbery escape ater holding a gun to me in in the worlds local bank. I would like to thank my local council for not taking my stinky rubbish away weekly. Let me not thank someone who tried to break into my house twice in a week. A big thanks to the utility companys for charging the earth to keep us warm. The list can go on. Expat life isnt for everyone, I came to Dubai with both eyes open, just have to try and enjoy life here, Dubai isnt so bad, ok it has its ups and downs, but doesnt everywhere in the world. WOW....cant believe it, fantastic! Where in Jebel Ali will they play and where can you get tickets please? TIA Tickets can be bought online through Virgin, and I believe they are playing at Jebel Ali, near the hotel, but thinks in a convention centre or something like that.

I wouldnt say showering as soon as he walks in the door is a sign, My OH has always done this. Back home I had a couple of friends who did investigation work, they said check to see if shirts / clothes smell of perfume, check car for hairs, spending more money, going out more often on their own!!!!! just afew ideas. Maybe you are both over tired, what with you having a daughter, and his work, it could be just normal life getting you both down. Talk to him, tell him how you feel, mention you feel that your closeness has shifted.

Yup you got it right. These are just before the uptown centre. They look nice for a gated community and yes are in direct flight path, however looking the other places has driven me nuts. Am unable to find a nice place with plenty of kids in a community while being in this part of Dubai i.e towards Dubai Modern/Repton school part. This part due to its proximity to DH's work and DS' school. Chat to you tomorrow, no worries.

Doesnt Chicken Pox hibernate the intiial 10 days, you cannot prevent a child from catching it im afraid. My eldest had it at 5, a mild dose, then afew years later she contracted it again, my youngest only ever had it once and she was covered head to toes, servere case, still has scars.

Well these are not exactly villas since they have a common wall between adjacent houses. They(Uptown Mirdif) have been one of the older gated community houses. Are these the ones that are just before uptown centre, I used to live opposite Mothercare in an apartment. No decent sleep for a year thou, lol.

I have noticed a massive price increase over the last 2.5 years, most of my shopping is at Spinneys ( Like it even thou expensive) no wage increase, its getting tough, but what can we do. All I can say is if all us expats left, and I mean all of us, the shops would got bust!!!!!!!! wouldnt they.

My mum does the best lentil soup, she lands here Friday cant wait for some. 3 large carrots grated, 2 large onions grated, half bag of red lentils, salt, pepper, vegetable stock, I like making my own, bring to a gentle boil then medium simmer for 2 hours. Its so simple to make and tastes lovely. ( Try and buy the lentils that have been pre soaked, if you cant find them, soak over night, and wash all the starch out before putting into the pot. <em>edited by salsB on 16/03/2011</em>

So tell me ladies, what are they doing to give you an infection? Is it when they dig right down the side and make you jump out of your skin or is it just a regular old clean up and they are using dirty equipment??? Hoping to avoid this particular pampering joy............... Yes they dug in to deep, maybe the equipment used isnt cleaned!!!!!! I had about 3-4 months of agony. Im going to have my feet done tomorrow, so am praying all will be good.

I know when we go to europe our allowance is 3200 cigarettes, but I really dont know f we are alllowed to order them and have them shipped. Wouldnt everyone in the UK that smokes have them shipped. There must be a clause somewhere. THe UK government surely wouldnt allow us to do this, look at all the revenue they will lose.

Ive asked DD what CE2 means, not sure what age group this is????The childrens garden in Green community DIP has french as a language as part of the curriculum but not the 1st language thou. I agree you will need resident visa's.

If you have an egate card can you take your child through with you? She is 3 has a passport but no egate card? I did this with my grand daughter, had no problems.
