Just for you salsB - lets have a giggle and fun day today Oh, I wish I’d looked after me teeth, And spotted the dangers beneath All the toffees I chewed, And the sweet sticky food. Oh, I wish I’d looked after me teeth. I wish I’d been that much more willin’ When I had more tooth there than fillin’ To give up gobstoppers, From respect to me choppers, And to buy something else with me shillin’. When I think of the lollies I licked And the liquorice allsorts I picked, Sherbet dabs, big and little, All that hard peanut brittle, My conscience gets horribly pricked. My mother, she told me no end, ‘If you got a tooth, you got a friend.’ I was young then, and careless, My toothbrush was hairless, I never had much time to spend. Oh I showed them the toothpaste all right, I flashed it about late at night, But up-and-down brushin’ And pokin’ and fussin’ Didn’t seem worth the time – I could bite! If I’d known I was paving the way To cavities, caps and decay, The murder of fillin’s, Injections and drillin’s, I’d have thrown all me sherbet away. So I lie in the old dentist’s chair, And I gaze up his nose in despair, And his drill it do whine In these molars of mine. ‘Two amalgam,’ he’ll say, ‘for in there.’ How I laughed at my mother’s false teeth, As they foamed in the waters beneath. But now comes the reckonin’ It’s methey are beckonin’ Oh, I wish I’d looked after me teeth. Thanks fo rthat, lol. now sitting in my pastels trying to talk like Pammy,

A friend wanted to buy some frozen prawns the small 250gm bag was 26.00 yet the same brand but 500gm were over 80!!!!!!!! hows that then..... Coz if you want gringo fodder you pay gringo prices! You want Gregg's pies live in Gregg's pie vicinity, why ***** and moan about 'western' food prices in a non western country - make your own?? I am entitled to moan!!! like the everyone else yes it does burn a hole in my pocket, I have plenty of Gregg's products when Im home, and actually I do make my own steak pie on occassions, just for you info..... We all remember where we were on the dreadful day.... yet ask me what i was doing this time last month, would I have a clue. That day nearly 12 years ago, will go down in history. I seen the re-runs on Sunday night, still glued to the story unfolding, yet I have seen it all numerous times. I will be thinking of those that lost their lives and family and friends. Not forgetting everyone else involved.....

I can see where you are coming from, ive had 5 Xmas's away from my daughter and her kids.... Every Xmas day my DD put the webcam on and I see them opening their presents, this helps me, and I get to see their gorgeous little faces light up to all the presents. Ive done Xmas brunch 4 times, normally the is a crowd of us, but last year I cooked instead. There are lots of brunches to go to, are you planning going out, just the two of you or with friends. I find eating out just the two of us just wouldnt work for us. We have spent our Xmas's with my youngest DD and friends in Dubai, we are now in Doha, so this Xmas is going to be really hard on me this year, really cant think about it. Hope it all works out for you.

Not sure what the process is on the Palm, but we had to get written permission from our LL, otherwise we could not vacate our apartment in JLT. Security would not let us move one piece of furniture until the management gave them the go ahead!!!!

I so remember 2008, we had to take a one bed, 1 cheque for 125,000. We are also working class, just wanting to find somewhere that we'd like to call home for the duration, this was not to be. Doha is no different to Dubai. Ive been looking for a small villa, just to have a back yard. Everything is priced out of our price range...... so I am very depressed too.

In our last apartment we never paid the housing fee. So Dewa was 350 approx, and cooling was 1800 a month. Our friends in JLT have been given a 2 month bill of over 4000dhs for cooling. edited by salsB on 09/09/2013 What is the difference between DEWA and cooling? I thought it was just one bill..... Some Dewa bills have cooling attached, but it all depends on the cooling company in the area. We were under Palm cooling, and they are well known for being expensive. So Dewa covers Water and Electricity, and any housing fee, cooling was billed separately to us, and we had no meter reading to start with, so I am sure they charged what they liked to be honest. In our other apartment we only paid 5% of our floor space for cooling, really thought this would be the case in our last place we lived. TBH what with the rent and everything else, its so expensive. I hear LL's are now more greedier than before!!!!!!!!!!

Personally I would stay clear of JLT, the traffic is horredous, so much harder to get taxi's now aswell. I lived in Armada 3, on 31st floor 3 bed, it was brand new when we moved in, we paid 105,000 on 4 cheques, Dewa was quite good at around 350 a month, cooler was 1800 a month, we never received any bill thru out our lease, I kept asking what will the charges be, management we basically useless. We paid the cooler on exit, so it was quite a shock to find out how much it is. Also the management would not let us remove any items at all until they received a letter from LL saying we had paid up everything. The whole process was a nightmare. Oh and LL argued blind to keep our deposit, he gave us back half, and kept the other half, for no reason, the apartment was spotless and in the same order we had received it in.

DKC will be able to sort your import paperwork, they will need a copy of passport, vet vaccinations, your residence. They would then email you a copy of the import paperwork. Pets into Dubai come is as cargo ( with Emirates anyway ), so you need to contact Emirates Cargo, better to ring than email, I am not sure if you are expected to have an agent for delivery at the airport. I have realised that not everyone is clued up with bringing in live animals, I found some Emirates staff to just make it all up to get you off the phone. I exported my 2 cats from DXB to Doha earlier this year and I was quoted 9000 rials. I did it myself ofcourse and it cost altogether 1700 rials.

throught out life, we live life on the edge!!! if its so totally illegal, then why are we allowed to walk in and buy and not show our alcohol license, some things just dont make sense!!! but the issues here that if you are caught by the law, the hassles can be much different compared to other countries. you are meant to have a licence so get one, you wouldnt drive without a driving licence so why is this any different. is it illegal to use your mobile in the car, yes, it is illegal to have part time maids, is it illegal to whatever..... rules are different here, and if you break them and are caught out there are big consquences etc. We have a liquor license, so were ok.
