There are no primary schools in the Palm. The closest schools would be in Al sufouh ( Choueifat School, Gems Wellington international) or in Jumeirah ( Jumeirah Primary School, King’s..) it really depends on which curriculum you want..,

I had an amazing girl who used to do my blonde highlights. Sadly she returned to the U.K. So I went to a hairdresser on the Beach Road. Worst mistake of my entire life. I just wanted a few blonde highlights. Rather than going into the full tragic story my hair is ruined and I mean ruined. It's snapped so much and is frizzy on top. I did have a lovely bob. I'm treating it myself everyday now. They gave me a treatment after me having to pay 50 dhs each way again by taxi. They offered me a Brazilian blowout which would have damaged my hair more. Offered me nail treatments which I declined as that wouldn't help my hair. They had no idea how to colour my hair and I have been so upset I was even in tears in the salon as they even turned my hair grey and I mean grey. I don't want to go back but I really need help. I'm so sick of people ruining my hair here and paying for the privilege. Please can someone recommend an amazing hair dresser that knows her stuff that may be able to rescue what I have left. I feel like I have been left with a full block colour of white and yellow and now my roots are coming through and I'm at a loss as to what to do. I thought I had learnt my lesson years ago but now I'm back to square one. I don't care the cost now just need serious help. Any great advice would be really appreciated. TIA. I have never had face treatments, mainly because I am worried. Although i do not have any allergic reactions that I know of, however just the idea of someone putting some mask or something on my face makes me worry that i would have pimples or negative effect after, However, recently my skin has been going down the drain. I have very dry skin and I have noticed that it started to look as if its dusty or not clean, out of life, no glow, black heads coming up, not smooth, pimples form every now and then but go away. Since I work and recently have been always leaving late I have had not time to really take care of it. I thankfully dont have acne or anything but i just look drained out and like i dont even take care of myself which is bothering me and bringing me down. Can anyone recommend any good facials at any saloon? What are their prices? Masks maybe bought somewhere? or even home remedies? Hi Dashenka, Unless you do a chemical peel or any other abrasive treatments, I wouldn't worry about your skin after a facial. I highly recommend the elemis visible brilliance facial at Sensasia, however it is on the pricey side, other good basic facials are dermalogica and Nimue..have a look on entertainer vouchers if you have the app.

I have a maid that comes to clean once a week for 3 x hours. She/her company has a spare key to my apartment because we're not there when she comes to clean. Want to leave this company and go to a new one but they're telling me I have to give them 4 x weeks notice. Is this legal? Do you have a contract with them?

Hi Ladies Our lovely nanny will be leaving us to get married - i just need some advice on the following: She was in Dubai when she transferred from here previous employer to me. Now that she is leaving Dubai to her fiancee's home country (Qatar) on a ticket that her Fiancee has already paid, should I be paying her the equivalent of her ticket to Philippines, her ticket to Qatar or am I not liable for the ticket all. Just to let you know I have already paid her annual home ticket as well. TIA You are responsible for her until she either leaves the country or finds a new sponsor. Is her visa cancelled? If you cancel her visa usually you have to get her a one way ticket to HOME COUNTRY. You need that proof for immigration.

We are traveling to Barcelona and were told that things get stolen easily all the time, even from hotels and hotels safe. So we wanted to buy small safe box for our documents to hide in the room rather than hotel safe box. Where can such be found in Dubai? I saw some at Virgin store.

What's wrong with taking her to your own dentist? Seriously??? Does your employer take you to his/her dentist?? Not many people get dental insurance, the fact that OP is willing to pay for it is great, so obviously she would want somewhere affordable.

If you wash it well after each use and dry it you can use it multiple times. I would say between 5 to 8 uses..maybe even more.. Just make sure you dont keep it in a humid place

I'm hearing that tickets to the KK event here in October could be nearly 6000 dhs. Am I the only one that could think of doing so much more with that kind of money? The show will just have to go on without me. Unfortunately that's the night I wash my hair. ;) Huda Kattan (Huda Beauty) was charging this much for her "master class" event...

Hi, try contacting directly some established chains: -hair works -belle femme -marquee Etc.. Aveda has also opened recently and I heard they were looking for stylists. You can also check on Dubizzle as a lot of salon managers advertise there. Good luck!!

A nanny/maid is required for a family of 4 in JVC, we have 2 kids 4 and 6 who both go to school, I will provide own room with bathroom and wifi access, rest hours, 1 day off "morning to evening, no sleepovers", 1700 dhs mo thly salary. Toiletries and free food, a ticket home every 2 years, in return she will be expected to do house chores "cleaning, laundry, ironing, cooking, etc..." And help with the kids, she must be honest and extremely kind to kids and a fun loving person. I think the law is a ticket home every year. It actually isn't.. Ok, do you know if it's compulsory with medical Injurance? Medical insurance is compulsory (Since June 2016)

Hello! Does anyone know of an affordable and nice compound in Jumeirah/umm Suqeim ( max 185K for 3 bedrooms)? TIA Hi samram, We're not exactly in a compound, it's more like a normal residential area, in Al Bada'a (near City Walk) and there are dozens of empty 3 bed villas for approx 180k I believe (they were all used by emirates for pilots, but Emirates moved everyone to the Emirates owned compounds). The management company is Al Wasl properties (they have several offices in Dubai) and I have to say they are excellent. The villas themselves are government owned. Might be worth a look! Thank you!! ?

Hi Alee, I think with a teenager in a new country, a compound would be better; You should check out the springs, the lakes.. Ideally close to her school as well; For the rent, some people do take out loans, but you can easily negotiate multiple cheques with landlords now. (3 to 4 max) Good luck!

Dear Ladies, Im a single mum, I got a job in Dubai from next september I want my son to go to school in Dubai. I have checked many schools, the prices seems very horroristic and I heard the quality is not as good as expensive they are. Im looking for a descent and not expensive school for my son, who is 13 yrs old. He is not fluent English, does he need an exam to pass or we just start the 8th class? Schools dont answer to my emails... Im desperate coz Im worrying how can I find a good place for him. Any answer wourld be useful. Thank you Ladies! Hi Agnes1974, What is your mother tongue? As there are French schools, German.. And the tuition is less then the UK and American curriculum. The best thing is to call the schools directly.

You can take a nice box of dates ( i.e Bateel) Or desert ( cakes, cupcakes, tarts..) You can wear casual chic, as long as it's not too revealing Thank you, is it expected I take something on each visit, or just the first? It's not expected, but it would be a nice gesture. Doesn't have to be an expensive item; you can take small box of Arabic sweets..bake a cake at home...

Hi ladies, hoping to get some info from you. I'm slowly making the switch to natural/organic beauty products. I have managed to get a couple of products such as Organic Pharmacy and Herbal Essentials. But I have started getting acne (why now?!) so I want to try a couple of products such as Dr Alkaitis and maybe even try Tata Harper . But I can't find it anywhere here! Does anyone else have the same problem with buying organic products or is it just me? Is there anywhere that sells it here or do you buy online from abroad? Just a little worried that delivery may not go according to plan... Any advice appreciated, thanks! The nail spa has an organic brand called Absolution; Also, the beauty floor website has a few organic options.
