The Grand Old Duke of York (might not the the title but it's the opening line) ETA it is called that: [i'>The Grand old Duke of York poem The Grand old Duke of York he had ten thousand men He marched them up to the top of the hill And he marched them down again. When they were up, they were up And when they were down, they were down And when they were only halfway up They were neither up nor down. [/i'> edited by Sanddy_Dogg on 29/03/2011

Decathlon have kites. Judging by the amount of times ours have dive-bombed into the sea I'd say they're pretty tough.

Actually, padding isn't [i'>all[/i'> bad. DD wears VERY LIGHTLY padded bras; not to make her boobs look bigger (and the bras don't), but to smooth her silhouette. She's at the stage where her developing chest is quite noticeable (in a sticky-outty kind of way) and a light padding makes her boobs look more like small, smooth round bumps and less like coat pegs.

I think it's hit and miss. DD was taught to swim at the British School while we were living in Muscat but both schools my kids have attended in the UAE don't seem to be too serious.

I don't like it either. DD who's 12 needed a new bikini and all the ones that fit her I don't like. They are the same shape top as in the article and think the bottoms are too 'brief'.

I'm hoping that your symptoms are abnormal because I can't imagine why people would knowingly subject themselves to that voluntarily. I have to say that after reading your posts that procedure is now something I would not consider. I have to agree with those that have advised you to seek further medical help to see if something can be done to help you.

I do find it quite amusing how people can so passionately hate a place. Dubai really isn't that bad is it? And for the most part we CHOOSE to come here, and we can just as easily CHOOSE to leave, so why make such a big deal about how much you hate it? Not always. We CHOSE to accept the job in Oman, we didn't CHOOSE to relocate everybody from Muscat to Dubai. DH had a good job, and to keep it we had to move. I've had some fantastic times here and met some great people but I want to leave. Unfortunately we made a wrong decision in buying property. It was the right thing to do at the time but circumstances can change, and ours have. To walk away would severely limit our choices so although we COULD leave, we'd be daft to do so.

Crystal- I was thinking the same thing. The well-wishers were such a minority in a thread that took a turn. Many posters just did not want to hear an opinion other than theirs hence the ones who claim to be the most happy had a sense of bitterness-ironic. Everyone has the right to an opinion. Differences of opinion can be discussed, but it's hard to do on a forum where some people think that there are only two opinions that count - their's and those who agree with them. I don't like milk chocolate, but love dark chocolate, [b'>I can't stand Galaxy chocolate[/b'>, some love it. It's a matter of taste. I wonder if those who disagree with the OP so passionately would be so "in the face" if it was a face-to-face discussion. I wish the OP all the best - and respect her opinion - whether I agree with it or not, in whole or in part. I was yours until that bit :( I wish I had never bought property here because it's the one thing keeping me here; I want to leave. There are things we want to do as a family that we just can't do here so we want to move to a place that fits us better. If I could sell my house I'd leave the region the following day. I have friends who just love it here and want to stay as long as they can. I don't quite get why they feel that way but they can't understand why we [i'>don't[/i'> love it. All said though, we each respect each others different feelings and don't ever let it become an obstacle in our friendship.

Hmm, might be tempted to send Large Duvet out for ironing, that is unless i can teach the cats to use an iron. That's what I do. Our local charges AED 4 for a duvet cover (iron only) the same size as yours. It takes me 20 mins to do a duvet cover and I think that my time's worth more than AED 12 an hour!

Sorry, I would get her stuff out and be rid of her from your lives. You do not want her even entering your property unless she is sponsored or it is under processing. It is illegal anyway you look at it. [b'>Right now it is your DH and a female who is not related to him, nor sponsored by him.[/b'> Oooh, a co-habiting angle - eek!

From the Home screen scroll down until your chosen book is selected with the thick black line underneath the title. Move the select button to the right then scroll down the menu to 'delete'.

Yes I'm sure it's illegal for her to live with you and work for you whilst not being sponsored by you. If her current family are leaving are they cancelling their visas? If so, hers will be cancelled too.

if you tip the gas station workers, the owners take it at the end of the day. Seriously? Once company told its attendants that they are not allowed to accept tips - was in the news a few years ago. I was looking at the guys in my local gas station recently and they don't have pockets in their trousers or shirts. The only place they can put money is in the bumbags supplied by the company.

Again, thanks for posting. This concerned me too. I had told my maid that she was NOT to work elsewhere and what the repercussions would be if she did. It always niggled me that if she worked for others without our knowledge we would still get into trouble for something we knew nothing about. I hope you get it all sorted asap.

theres an Arte one on in Al Hamra Mall, RAK this weekend. 25th I think. Also a new one started at JLT but not sure if it's still going? That one was weekly...I'd start with the artisans at any of the Arte ones though. Yup, 2-9pm this Friday.
