Hi, If you are meaning NZ$100K, then yes this is good for no kids and manageable for 2 kids, but Auckland is the most expensive city in NZ. Depending on where your employment is based (in Auckland) is where you may need to live as transport difficult and busy. Rental market one of the dearest in NZ too.
1/3 of country pop live in Auckland so this is why jobs and housing market very competitive. However the city can also present an excellent quality of life with many outdoors activities and facilities at your doorstep. Education and medical care very good. I go home and find somethings expensive (compared to here) but generally all good. Supermarket shopping cheaper than here because most of the produce is grown locally. Fruit, vegetables, meat, dairy all excellent.
