If you can look at the ingredients on any of the sunscreen avoid avobenzone or cinnamates as this can make it worse Zinc Oxide and Titanimum dioxide are okay I believe I feel you may struggle to find these ones in the Middle East though as the selection is quite low as oppose to Europe etc <em>edited by sarahlou123 on 23/02/2014</em>

Tried lots of Loreal as well. Kerastase is on another level entirely. Toyota vs. Lexus ? My favorite mask is the Elixir Ultime that comes in a gold pot. I also love the Chronologiste. The UK sell a product called lanza which is on a par with Kerastace I don't think you can buy it here though

Hi All, I'd like to order some stuff from Amazon US and/or Amazon UK, however, they don't always ship here. I've heard that Amazon US/UK can deliver to another mail/courier company which will then send it on here at reasonable rates. Any idea of company names? TIA. Amazon will deliver books and CD's/DVD's here. I have been using them for years Aramex Shop and Ship is the name of the company I use for other items however certain items are not allowed and they tell you on the website

U think this is legit? Saturday morning whatsapp will become chargeable. If you have at least 10 contacts send them this message. In this way we will see that you are an avid user and your logo will become blue (?) and will remain free. (As discussed in the paper today. Whatsapp will cost 0.01€ per message. Send this message to 10 people. When you do the light will turn blue otherwise whatsapp activate billing. This has been doing the rounds for over a year I would ignore it.

The whole of Dubai is expensive. I'm sure having the golf course as part of it makes it even more expensive. It used to be the most expensive golf course in Dubai.... not sure if it still is. I know I have to move next year and my rent outgoings will shoot up :-(

Do you get dental insurance as part of your medical insurance? There are different costs at dentists. It says within the documents that I have a refund if I require surgery or any other dental prostheses ! However it doesn't explain any thing about check ups and costs..... Think I will ring around... Hey thanks any way :) Not everyone gets dental as part of their medical insurance At some dentists you can claim back the costs of the treatment/checkups Dentists in the UAE charge different prices some are expensive and some aren't. it depends which dentist you go to I hope this makes sense

Seems daft doesn't it, asking how I go about getting a dentist? But to be fair there are so many ! I have recently came here and recived through husbands company a health card.... So I went through the literature that came with card and it's says just present this when visiting dentist or doctor....but why? Plus are the rates of these dentists variable,or around the same cost....? I have to get my little one checked as his 6monthly check up is due and I am completely baffled by this... Well there's no way we could even be there for 6pm and in most other cases the main act has been the last one on. We're banking on getting there about 9pm. Are there any online stores that sell actual prints (not from my own photos)? I have seen a couple of prints I really like, but the stores have all been in UK or US. Can you shop and ship them? Are they heavy? Are shop and ship paying you commission? ;) If they aren't too heavy and the only ones OP can find why not? Got all exited, but after searching I am really fed up with these so called sales. I don't know about other destinations, but AMS is hardly any cheaper than usual. Even more expensive than KLM at the moment! I paid over 4300 to Manchester with EK at Easter. Heathrow is only 3300 but then I have to get ooop north so easier for me to fly to Manchester. Sarah - BA do an internal flight from LHR to MAN I did it a few weeks ago, easy peasy :) x DXB to Man on EW is straight there and home, feet up, glass in hand by 12.30pm :-) <em>edited by sarahlou123 on 20/02/2014</em>

Help help help. So many different opinions seems we are going round and round in circles, so any advice will be much appreciated. My husband just started his job in Dubai and we hope to follow him shortly from the Uk. We being 21 month old baby and our dog. Finding a property Q: any one recommend the best area to live with a baby and dog? Our dogs needs lots of exercise. We heard The Springs or Hills? We don't have a huge budget. Q: finding it a little difficult to get across to rental agents what we need. Anyone recommend a good one? Baby Q: I have heard that nursery places are hard to get, a years waiting list. Is this true? Can anyone recommend ones they may already use? And rough cost. Lady looking for a job Q: is it difficult for a woman to find a job in Dubai? Are there any flexible working/part time jobs? Hello www.propertyfinder.ae may help with the costs. As OP said the rents have gone up massively of late. Areas with villas and gardens for dogs are Springs Lakes Meadows Jumeriah Islands Jumeriah Park Jumeriah Village Triange Barsha Jumeriah Umm Suqeim With regards to roles it is rare to see any part time roles! full time ones are the norm here and those working hours can be anything from 8-5, 8.30-5.30,9-6 Nursery costs can average 65,000 per year full time however that is for a Western nursery ( My colleagues Son goes to one and he is 18 months old) However they can be cheaper depending on said nursery Good rental agents hmmmm now that is a difficult one. Most people don't start looking for property until they are in the country and usually about a month before they need to move. Everything moves quick here

I was there a few weekends back and was told it was to split the beach from the Jebel Ali Hotel to the Palm Tree Court. We paid to use the beach were only allowed to use the Jebel Ali beach part of the hotel not the other side

Yasmin is not a mini pill (no estrogen). A very good one that was suggested to my by my Dr. as I am a high risk for cancer is Cerazette. Some friends have also gone on it and none of us have had any side effects, also, you can take it when breastfeeding. good luck :) OP asked for a low dose Estrogen pill which I believe Yasmine is

Thanks for your responses. I have been to see a Dr about this and they recommended the copper coil which I wasn't too interested in. A decent alternative to the copper coil is a plastic T shaped IUD. You can buy it off the counter, it's called Nova T, manufactured by Schering. Definitely hormone-free. From my understanding, Cerazette is distributed in limited amounts in Dubai. There are regular shortages of the drug. A friend was on it, and she relied on a BF in Saudi, where there were more constant supplies, to bring back 5 months' worth at a time. Thank you. So with Nova T, if it is hormone free does it just work as a barrier method in a way then? It does act as a barrier. It can have some side effects and you can read up on these online

I second the Dyson, I have the hand held and the floor type one and they are brilliant xo Where Can I buy Dyson from? C4 I have the Hoover Airforce Pets and after owning a Dyson for several years found the former to be much better. The lead on it is huge so you can get around most of the house easily and it is great for pet hair. Another bonus is that is over AED1000 cheaper than the Dyson
