Mine started calling me Madam and my DH Sir but it was because she couldn't pronounce our names. She now attempts mine but struggles with DH's. Does she ever get it mixed up? I have been called Sir to my face twice now hahaha Makes me chuckle :-)

I would love to know about the good hair dresser ! Been here a couple of weeks and roots need a touch up desperately....? I have found though what I pay in uk.... Hair dressers here want more money for the same procedure, which is disheartening. So if you have a number for hairdresser that would be great ? Go and see Donna at Roots Barsha She does my hair and is very good

I thought Yasmine was being withdrawn? There was a recent article in the UK press about the bad side effcets of this pill. Yes maybe I will go see the Dr again. It is still available here? Perhaps ask the DR I used it several years ago and didn't have any side effects at all infact I found it better than Femodene and Ovranette There are limited pills here so we don't have a huge choice

Thanks for your responses. I have been to see a Dr about this and they recommended the copper coil which I wasn't too interested in. Plus they checked my blood pressure and weight etc So really my question is: - What are the names of the low dose pills in Dubai that you can buy? Yasmine is but I would still with the DR

Birth control is a very 'individual' thing. Please go and see your doctor, who will recommend the right one for YOU. What works for one person, might not be effective in another. So true FD and OP get your blood pressure checked. So many people self medicate here as the pill is sold over the counter

Happened to me and I got absolutly fed up. People sitting on my sofa ( I got my place unfurnished so the stuff is mine) openeing the cupboards to look at the space.. sitting in the living room having a discussion on mortgages ! it was awful. I then started following the poeple around and the agent which ticked the agent off ! he asked me to go in the living room and I politly told him that I dont know you and what happens if you steal something :P I have been lucky and they all have turned up at the right time, apologized for inconveniencing me and taken their shoes off. I have been asked random questions but advised them to speak with the LL/ or the agent should know these details

Lately I've seen my maid using my hair bands to tie her ponytail and I just saw her use a pair of my tweezers from out of a basket of personal grooming things I have in the downstairs bathroom. It kind of made me a bit sick, but is this being precious? Hairbands no, Tweezers yes!!!!

Hello again As I am being taken to the rent committee for a hearing may I ask what will happen if they arrange a date and I am not in Dubai?. I have a couple of holidays booked and hope they do not arrange hearings on those dates! Thanks Oh bu**er. I hope your LL is paying the charges? I advised him of the laws and said if he wishes to open a case against me then to go to the RC I am within my rights for no increase and 12 months notice therefore i will not sign anything and let the RC decide

Both seem like wonderful schools, getting equally good comments across the board. Any personal recommendations to why you would choose the one over the other? There have been a few posts recently about Victory Heights. If you use the search bar you may find some. :-)

They are trying to say they will send it now therefore I have move in Feb 2015 whereas my tenancy contract does not finish until end April Thanks

I shall keep you posted I thought they had to change any amendments to contract i.e within 90 days that is why I got confused. When he asked for an increase it was at day 81 and I said no increase was due He then provided me with the increase on the calculator and I said we would discuss this at a later date as I did not know if he could do this. I then emailed him and advised on the 90 days and this is when he said rent court

sarahlou123, you responded to an earlier thread of mine and said you were making your place available for viewings by the landlord. Was this written into your tenancy agreement? Just wondering how it compares with desertrose83's contract for 48 hours notice. Perhaps it is something I need to write into my tenancy agreement so that when his lease is up in July I can make the amendment and have him agree to it. Knowing my luck he can probably refuse to accept the amendment. Nothing written in my lease stating this. I am just being fair as they gave me 12 months notice to leave as per the law.

I just went to the Ejari website and it says this: Who can register with Ejari? Anyone who belongs to the following category can register for Ejari Accounts. 1. Landlords 2. Property management company and its employees 3. Landlord representative I am none of those so I don't think I can access the website to register the lease contract. Or am I missing something? I sent all my paperwork off and got the link to pay. I am a tenant not a LL? Click on this http://www.ejari.me/contact-us/ and it gives you all the paperwork to download and complete ( 2 parts) and all the bits you need to register. They all have to be attached separately and emailed and then they will check them and send you the details to pay. It is over AED500 and the typing shops that do them only charge around AED200

I guess I could try registering online without attesting....I didn't think about that. duh! ....but is the attested contract required to sponsor the residence visa for my baby...thats the next question!! To Google I go again to get more conflicting information! Hello My colleague has just sponsored her Daughter and said she only needed a registered copy via Ejari to do this however they don't need to be attested

Moi I had a chat with someone I know in Dubai who is the GM of a developer He said it is a very grey area with regards to inspections There is a lady who comments on the real estate laws here and maybe she can help His understanding is that a LL can only ask to enter a property with very good reasons ( I know that doesn't help you at all) Try emailing [email protected] TIA I had read some information on bouncing cheques which isn't what you are going through however it clearly states on this link that a LL cannot enter premises without a police or court order!

Hi there, I recall reading here a few months ago about a concierge type company that provides this service, perhaps if you search for concierge services in the posts you will find it. I also know some people use taxis and send their maids and car seats along for nursery, I suppose you would do the same for school if you have a maid and she can install the car seat. As for hiring a driver I have been told it's about 2,000 to 3,000 a month but that depends on times you need/experience/type of vehicle etc. I hope others can give more accurate info as mine is just hearsay. Careem.ae however I feel it would be expensive process to do

How was the notice served? Was it done legally and not just by email? As he can use that against you unfortunately. I also thought it would run at the same time of the lease too I am being given 12 months when my current lease expires in May 2013 The OP says his lease is up in July and yet he is due to move out in October? I thought that too, but I have heard of people having different dates. Don't see how that actually works though, unless the OP has done it for a reason. Someone did tell me though that this can't happen, so I'll pass on the correct answer. edited by Geordie expat on 16/02/2014 RC told me from end of lease and that is what my LL is going by I have had people viewing for the last 2 weeks and 5 people through the apartment yesterday!

Notice was served last year and the 12 month period will be up in October this year. His lease expires in July but he will not respond to my request whether he will vacate the property in July, October or whether he will fight to stay on indefinitely. He has informed the agent that it is his home because his children were born there and he is the owner of a real estate company, so my guess is that he will refuse to leave and I'll have a real 'cat fight' on my hands. If it comes to that then it will go through rental court who is believe are fair and go by the law Once the notice is served and the 12 months has expired I doubt he will have a leg to stand on and will be asked to leave. If you open a case against him he will have to pay back the costs He cannot stay because his kids were born there or that he owns a real estate company. He should know the law. I wish you well

One inspection can be done every 4 weeks You need to give 48 hours notice I am trying to get you something in writing to give to the tenant
