I'm planning on going to Redfest with my husband. A concert is much more my idea of fun than a rubbish set menu themed dinner. Like, which one are you going to? We are going on the Friday to see John Newman!

We are currently in JVC and need to find an apt to rent by end of March at the latest. The thing is we are likely planning to leave Dubai in December, so is there a not too expensive way to just rent for 9 months or are we better off renting for a year? Struggling to find something in our price range also, want to pay max 40,000 for a studio, but would prefer less and stay in similar area. Any suggestions? I know the ones in JLT have shot up in price My friend had a large studio ( More like a one bed ) for 36k last year it has recently been rented for 70K! Have you been on www.propertyfinder.ae Good Luck!

Just read this article and remembered this thread: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2546264/Would-YOU-swallow-mini-gastric-balloon-lose-stone.html It all sounds too good to be true to me and I know I wouldn't do it. Me neither, the side effects can be awful and I wonder if you would be insured if something went wrong with it here

I went through a similar thing and told my LL I was happy to accomodate her with regards to potential buyers however it had to be on my terms due to work and other commitments. Needless to say they either turned up without an agent or didn't turn up full stop With regards to maintenance issues it is a really grey area however I would use the " Yes I will be flexible with regards to viewings however pay what you owe me". Legally you do not have to show anyone around RERA have nothing to do with this. All rent disputes are dealt with by the Rent Committee

We took out a loan last year, but banks will not lend the amount needed over one year, so I'm still paying that off....and it end up costing us a fair bit more in the long run so I'm not really wanting to go down that road again. My question is, if I cant pay in one cheque, can they increase the rent by more than the RERA guidelines? (I find the whole cheque thing utter nonsense anyway....but my company policy is to only advance housing in two installments and not one, so laying your hands on that large lump sum is really difficult) I would be happy with a slight increase in the total, if they would spread it over a few cheques! No, they have to go by the rent calculator

Hi, hoping thats someone on here will have the neccessary legal knowledge to answer this question.... If my landlord offers a new contract based on the terms and conditions of the old one, does this include the number of cheques? If we are happy with the amount, but cant pay in a single cheque (as we have previously) where do we stand? As I understand it, the laws are supposed to be on the side of the tenant, and we want to renew, but just need to split the payment into more cheques (I'm talking four, or maybe two at a push.....not anything 'far-fetched' like twelve!!!! - although that would be great!!! :-) ) Mine always has although I feel my LL may change the goal posts as she wants me out before the 12 month notice for selling

Many moons ago i had a nice dose of impetigo on my face, i informed my child's school at the time as this comes under a communicable disease, he was not allowed to attend school for two weeks even though he nor his siblings nor any member of the household had it. This was in the UK. I was a full time working mum and just had to cope, I'm afraid when you have children you have to bear with such things and be responsible. On a side note my DH many moons ago also came down with Chicken pox as an adult and he suffered terribly and was off work for 3 weeks. I'm afraid you can argue the point as much as you like but the nursery has told you their policy and LT has spelled it out loud and clear. I had it at aged 19 care of my lovely Nephew who picked it up from nursery I was off for 3 weeks and very poorly also. Thankfully it did not develop into shingles. Speaking of Impetigo I had it so many times as a child.

I think some of you are missing the point! What Singaporeans are angry about is what he said in regards to "washing the smell" off him from the public transport. That's what has affected people the most. If i can find the link I will post what a Singaporean actress has said about "the smell" comment. It was well written and worth reading. Yes but be angry, Issuing "death threats" is very over the top The man is a fool!

Dbbabies, Baby Bling, Mamas and Papas do nice gift baskets. Why not ask the mum if she has a registry so she gets items she wants and needs. I know the cute outfits are so tempting but chances are she probably needs a steriliser / car seat / nappy bin. Also - with the cutesy outfits, sometimes they aren't always to the mamas' taste - I've had tonnes of garish Disney stuff that I don't put on my baby coz I don't like them lool! x Good thinking. Thanks for the advice

Landlords can not change any terms and conditions without agreement with the tenant. Generally however district cooling is paid by the tenant but they should then open an account with the supplier and pay the bill themselves. Which area is this in? I don't pay district cooling my LL does. She lives in Mirdif

They can do a free demo on your hair at the mall kiosks and then you can return later for purchase (or not). The curling wands works on thick hair very well. I have super thick long straight hair and my curls stayed for 3 days(had to wash my hair so could of been longer). I also struggle to hold a curl and regular curling irons do not work on my hair. They go limp within an hour. I know Salon Ink has curling wands as well if you prefer to go to a salon. edited by Asti on 25/01/2014 They use the cloud nine want which is good on both fine and thick hair I cant get used to the them and use the new Babyliss one which you just put the end of your hair in and it winds it in and curls it. It is foolproof for people like me who cannot use curling irons ha

Every concert I have been to there is standing and I doubt you could sit on the grass without getting trampled on or even be able to see Everyone will be dancing I imagine And I was going to take my fold up cushions to sit on. You know people of my age can't hack standing all night, never mind dancing ;) I remember going to see Jools Holland in Delamere Forest years ago There were so many people sitting down with picnic blankets eating scotch eggs and full on picnics Needless to say when he started with his boogie woogie playing they were all nearly trampled on. The last time I stood at a concert was in the 80's. So I may get a little squished at this one. Could job it's not on a work night The venue isn't a bad size so hopefully will be plenty of room
