Thanks @sarahlou123 and @SunDevil for the replies. I e-mailed the Lawyer. Informed her about how nothing is getting resolved, their poor communication and my plan to file a complaint to the RC. This is my final warning to them if they don't really want to talk about this situation amicably, then off to RC. As I said, my documents and 3.5% fee are ready. Some things are inside my head and I need your opinion: 1- What to wear during the hearing with the Landlord. Should it be very formal? Or is Smart Casual acceptable? 2 - What if I don't win? I'm confident with my case. And sure I will win this, IF we stick to the LAW. But still, I wanna know if things don't go my way. 3 - Will it backfire? IF I win the case, what if my Landlord makes my life miserable because I'm staying in his apartment. Like, what if I need major maintenance? 4 - If they say you need 3 copies of each document, do they mean, 3 copies + original? Just making sure. 5 - What if the Landlord tries to negotiate and I've filed my case already. Can I get back the 3.5% fee? That's it so far... TIA :-) As it is a government office I would wear a trouser suit with a blouse. Navy or black The LL could make your life miserable and I doubt you could do anything about major maintenance but I suppose it is if anything major does happen I am not sure about the fee but ask when you go I have a feeling you will win, 2 people I know plus a poster on here went through a similar thing and one. They have to go by the law which is on your side Good Luck!!!

Hello everyone. . I'm travelling to Europe this winter.. nowhere snowy.. but temoeratures are between5-7 degrees Celsius. . I need to find woolies for my kids.. nice warm jackets or coats for 6-7 year olds.. all I can find here are showy warm ones full of polyester. . any suggestions? Gap Zara Debenhams Mango Matalan M&S http://shop.mango.com/AE/mangokids/boys/jackets ( not much on there though) http://www.zara.com/ae/en/kids/boy-%282-14-years%29/coats-c269266.html Better selection and you can check if they have the product in store I priced their UK and UAE site and there isn't much difference at all edited by sarahlou123 on 11/12/2013 <em>edited by sarahlou123 on 11/12/2013</em>

Thanks ladies, I just completely rewrote my cover letter , customised and sent it out. The job advertised on he business council was for a german speaker but I send my resume anyway, u never know I guess. I also sent a few other letters out that I found on the links below… Feeling a bit more positive, just hope the employers will see past the exact compatibility and go for enthusiasm and willingness to work and learn. I have over 100 cover letters. One for every job I have applied for out here and none are identical. Geordie I'll hopefully be in touch in the New Year when it usually picks up

Correct. 12 months' notice to evict and he should have told you of the rent increase over 90 days from the date of your renewal and even then, he can only increase the rent as per Rent Index Guidelines. So he's missed the boat on the rent increase - hence your rent should stay the same at the renewal of contract. But he can still issue you with an eviction notice for 12 months' from when the notice is served. The notice needs to be served in writing, signed by a notary public and delivered by registered post (ie where you have to sign to demonstrate you've received it). Doesn't the eviction notice have to be for one of the 4 reasons though, he cannot just issue you with an eviction notice for the sake of it. All so confusing Yes he has to give one of the four reasons for eviction and prove it. My LL wanted me to write and say I was vacating in April 2014 as she is selling I said she had to give me 12 months notice as per the law however I have heard nothing since I know come Jan 2014 I will have to contact her again to see what is happening So far the apartment is still up for sales and no-one has been round to view for months I would be happy to give her 12 months however I don't think she will try and play ball so off to the RC I will go.

We have just been served notice as the LL says that he wants to move back in. I am sceptical. And very keen to hear the outcome of Rowellian's RC date. - we could be following your footsteps! Also, any advice on how to demand proof from LL that they are indeed moving in? Ask him for it. Say it is required from the rent committee where you have sought advice on this matter.

I'm surprised Sarahlou123 was banned earlier, as I find her ever helpful and sensible like A Rancher ( no offence to others) I was banned because I work in a certain industry and was trying to help posters who were looking for work. As you know this isn't allowed and I was banned. I learnt my lesson on the naughty step :-)

Sorry to piggy-back on this one.... We have just been served with 12 months notice as the landlord says he is intending on moving back in himself. I am sceptical. But is there a way I can demand 'proof' that he is indeed moving back in? I believe he has to prove that he has nowhere else to live. It seems like all LL are moving in/selling etc haha

no but if he does rent out as soon as they leave shouldn't the tennant be compensated? I was told by a friend ( He works for a big developer here) that if taken to the RC and the LL has rented it out within 2 years then the tenant is entitled to one years rent in compensation. Does it not clearly state that if the LL kicks a tenant out to sell then he cannot re-rent for a certain period of time?

Hi! I just scrapped my car while reversing (i feel REALLY stupid) and now there is a small dent of maybe 2 inches and not more. IS there a way to get it fixed without a report? Its a second car and i do not want to spent a lot of money on it! Drive round Al Quoz plenty of places there I pulled the bumper off mine a few months back and AAA fixed it for peanuts!

Update on my last post: The lawyer did not send me anything. Called her up and asked, "Why did you tell me, the email will be sent shortly when you did not have plans on sending me anything at all?!!" Anyway, I'm over it. Okay, so I've completed the necessary documents needed for filing a complaint in the Rent Committee. And plan to go there tomorrow morning. Do I need to inform the LL about this? They are really trying to be evasive about this case. Not wanting to talk to me on the phone, not sending me any e-mail. The lawyer is always "in a meeting" or "not at work". I don't even have an idea what they were trying to tell me last Thursday as communication with them is really non-existent. So, do I call the LL and tell him I'm headed for the RC tom? Or do I go ahead and do what I have to do? I would email him and inform him of what you are doing Keep a copy of the email as your proof as a call/text can't be proven Good Luck! <em>edited by sarahlou123 on 11/12/2013</em>

The fact that someone took the time to go through 3337 threads and name me as the EW police :-) How is that even possible? Have you tried to use the search function? Only a page comes up if you click on a username, drives me nuts when i try to look up a recommendation i made in the past about a company. If you go online, your life is online, poster beware what you post. It says the amount of threads you have and you can click on the number and it brings up the threads :-)

Thanks sarahlou. im still having problems, have entered the stage where you click continue to go through and pay for tickets, but it's giving the wrong price. mine are 795 each, times 2 = 1590. plus 65 x 2 (130) = 1720, however it's giving me a price of 1790. Whats up, do you have any idea? Never used ticketmaster before I had never used it before and I have no idea what the extra 70AED is for There is a contact button at the top perhaps call them as I had to and they answered quickly Good Luck!

My mother and grandmother recently arrived in Dubai on their first flight with Emirates. Apart from my grandmothers seat not reclining, being unable to raise/lower the divider between the seats and the light not working they were not offered any afternoon tea prior to landing. Do Emirates no longer offer afternoon tea on daytime UK to Dubai flights? I have always been continually supplied with food/drink . I thought food was on tap in business class all day and night? Which airport did they fly in from?

I would be grateful if someone could recommend a good plastic surgeon, who could enlarge breasts which eventually would look completely natural. Most of the ones I have seen really show that they are been enlarged… I have also heard that this operation and the silicon that goes inside could cause cancer? Does anyone know if it's true? Any input is really appreciated! Thanks DR Khan did mine 3 years ago I was out of hospital the same day and went back to work with no pain medication after 2 days I had the implants under the muscle and they are not under my chin or fake looking at all He is expensive but one of the most recommended and best cosmetic surgeons in the region
