When I went to see Rhianna I bought the VIP tickets - unfortunately we couldn't see the stage or the screens and there were no free drinks! Complete waste of money. No concerts in Dubai/Abu Dhabi provide free drinks in VIP

I was chatting to my mum last night about this thread and my mum told me that when she used to run out of bubble bath after running a bath for us kids, she used to squirt Fairy Liquid in the bath tub instead ! I remember making fake beards and a bikini with the bubbles ! lol ! I doubt you will get the same effect with Pril ... Must try this again .. Ill have my Dynasty Joan Collins moment in the bath tub :P Haha my Brother and I used to do this. We also used to soak our feet in a washing up bowl with hot water and Persil washing powder in? That's definitley a new one :) And why Persil ? That was the washing power Mum used and she used to do it for us when it was cold? I have no idea why...Haha

Hi ladies, seeking advice and experiences from those who have done a chemical peel! I'd not doing it for wrinkles (don't have any) but for pigmentation. Whenever I get a pimple (so that's about 2 or 3 of them a few days before shark week begins, usually on the cheeks), when it heals it leaves a scar/freckle. I have very fair skin so these show up and I hate them! Fraxel and other lasers are good for age spots or sun spots but apparently not good for this kind of pigmentation, which is post inflammatory hyperpigmentation I am considering getting a medium strength peel (GA, AHA or BHA - not the stronger TCA peel) but my skin is quite dry and sensitive so I am worried about how it will react. Has anyone else either done a peel on dry/sensitive skin or done a peel and seen good results in improving this kind of pigmentation? Thanks girls xxx Forget Fraxel my friend had it done and it did nothing whatsoever. She advised that by the time the swelling had worn off and she no longer resembled a scary person the results were poor I have very sensitive skin and was warned by a leading plastic surgeon not to do it as it would make my face worse. I would book a consultation with a leading reconstructive surgeon who specializes in this area

and other equally gripping discussions....... The only mildly interesting thread today lasted 5 minutes... so, I like Pril for the nice fruity scent but it's a lot thinner so probably less economical than Fairy, the favourite from home... Discuss :D ha! ha! Hands that do dishes can be soft as your face with mild green fairy liquid. Fairy all the way for me, anything else is just false economy imho :) Do you remember the big bars of Fairy Soap as a child.. Oh the smell... takes me back ! Those big green bars cleaned absolutely everything and anything :) edited by Geordie expat on 08/12/2013 My Grandfather used to wash his hair with fairy liquid. He died with a full head of hair so it must of worked? I remember carbolic soap and it smelt awful.

Heading North on Shk Zayed, take exit for Al Karama. Take first right into Karama neighborhood. Take the right after the mosque. Then turn left, in front of the fish market. There are shops on each side. If you look at most maps, its labeled Karama Shopping Complex. Also if you go straight and over the roundabout, take the next right where Emirates NBD is and turn right all of the shops are on your left and right

You should try Dermalogica Ultra calming cleanser. I suffered with eczema on my face and then I found this. I find it really gentle. It's not the cheapest but I buy it online through a store called pure-beauty.co.uk and a large bottle lasts me ages. You don't have to even use water to wash it off if you can't tolerate water on your skin or you just rub it on and wash it off. It even takes off your eye makeup too - brilliant! Agree

mrsb - i'd like to get uggs for my daughter's 14th birthday also. What is the price range? I've never seen them in Dubai (and paid no attention to them previously in the U.S.) so I have NO idea of how much they cost. Hopefully under a 1000 dhms. Probably not they are closed to 80-90GBP in the UK and Dubai is always so much more expensive I would order them from Australia and get them shipped as will be cheaper

We were required to either bring a bill or receipt of deposit from DEWA. If you've paid your deposit online, you must go to DEWA center and obtain a stamped receipt from them. Also, we needed LL's passport copy. The process is fairly quick. However, upon applying, we learned that the previous tenant was never de-registered from our apartment, so there were additional steps we had to take to remove that tenant before we could proceed (which should have been already done by the LL / property manager before we moved in). If you find yourself in this situation as well, this is not difficult to fix, just delays the process. I wasn't asked for LL copy or Dewa although I took them

I know the Rivington grill have a menu as do Jamies but anywhere else recommended? TIA Raffles near Wafi

This is going back a couple of years, but I remember a friends boss who got a pretty hefty penalty and black points for speeding (way over the limit), the thing is he was given 3 different options; Pay the fine, pay a lesser fine and have his car impounded for a month, or have his car impounded for 3 months. He was at the time going away for the entire summer, so had his car impounded and left for 3 months! Basically used it as a garage service for his car, which is ridiculous and no deterrent from doing it again whatsoever. I know several people who have done the above!

I honestly don't know why these people are being "celebrated" as such. Agree, ban them, take cars away for a few years, put them on intensive driving courses, with proper trainer driving professionals and then have to learn to pass to INTERNATIONAL standards. If they drive without license - jail time - simples, a danger to themselves and everyone on the road!! Thought less My US friend said that speeding fines are linked to his insurance, the more he speeds the higher the insurance costs. Another said they will automatically take the fine from your bank account. Now there is an idea! It is a good idea, I have a company car and any fines are automatically paid by the company, which are then taken out of my salary, no questions asked. Tbh, it's not much a deterrent for me as I don't get fined often.......... but for the people this article is talking about, I'm sure they would certainly think twice at those levels of cost. They beggar belief, they really do. Some people just don't care. I just wonder what would happen if they smashed into someone with no registration as would the insurance pay out?

Thanks Sarahlou... i obviously meant "our" maid... We are heading to Mussadam... Anyone traveled with their Philippino maid to Mussadam? I know but I was told by a colleague that if she has a Filipina Passport and is sponsored by you you can take her but she will have to apply for a visa at the border. It takes minutes and costs AED15-30 :-)

It makes you wonder why people travel... Saying that, i was talking to a local friend the other day who only eats McDonalds etc when they travel.... I didn't comprehend that as personally, eating local food is half the fun of traveling... Sounds like my Father in Spain in the 80's Yes Spain in the 80's was full of Spanish food and if I remember correctly, not a McDonalds or fast food chain in sight........ Bliss :) My Dad would seek out a typical British pub for his food! Whereas my Sister and her kids try all local food. How times change

Ive just checked with the PRO in my office and you [b'>CAN NOT [/b'>hire anyone on a tourist visa. Their visa needs to be under process or you need a pre approval before somone on a tourist visa is allowed to set foot in the work place. This means that you have applied for their visa and the wheels are in motion. I was also told this

I am thinking of getting one for my DH. Is the Air so much better than the IPad 2? Worth the difference? And how much does it cost for connection from DU or Etisalat? (I know I can go in and ask, but at the moment , he is always by my side!) Better to buy in Europe, or no difference? When I bought my Ipad mini earlier this year it was cheaper in Dubai than in the UK
