'When quizzed about her actions, she said that she left the baby asleep and did not think that he would wake up while she was doing her shopping.' The child was screaming and security smashed the wondow to get into the car. Shocking, I would leave an animal let alone a child alone in a car and i'm not a Mother!

They get taken out of my annual allowance, so that means the days I've saved up all year to take when I want to will have to be taken when "said" says so What? so you don't get them as extra? Is that legal? x

this freaks me out.. it's so scary, what's sad is she did it to go shopping?? i can't open the site but did she forget the baby or just left the baby so she wouldnt get disturbed during her precious shopping spree???? 5 month old and the Mother said she did not think the baby would wake whilst she was shopping for an hour. The baby woke and its cries alerted people near by who stayed there till the Mother returned. Some people do not deserve to be parents

I know it's starting to get cold here (was 20 on the way to work this morning) but do we really need uggs? I saw a lady at the weekend in a hat, scarf, furry boots and a thick coat. It was 32 degrees!

Hi We have a date for our rent committee hearing and wondered what to expect? We are the tenants and we have filed the case against the landlord for evicting us on the grounds that they are moving in. But new tenants moved in 2 weeks after we moved out. Just wondered if anybody has been to hearing themselves and was it resolved after one hearing or can I expect this to drag on? Can you keep us posted on your progress

Is it really any surprise who is going to win? I am guessing the bunting and fairy lights are already waiting in preparation! lol As well as the landlords greedily rubbing their hands. We said the same this morning

Please do not disable the front airbag............I am recovering from a horrendous car crash which wrote off our CRV and the other car. Friends who drove past the wreckage shortly after the accident were horrified at the scene and assumed there had been fatalities, I quote "No one could have survived that". Thanks to the airbags. we have broken bones and lacerations but no internal injuries, and are buying another CRV. Goodness, sorry to hear that LT, thank goodness all ok. Quick recovery wishes! Same from me :-)

In my case my LL is selling and I have asked her for 12 months notice which she has not responded too. What would happen if she sells to a new buyer and doesn't inform me and the end of my contract ( May 2014) roles around? Does that mean the new LL can charge me what they want for the final 12 months? I may be wrong on this so please check it out, but I believe that if your LL sells while you're in the property, and he hasn't given you notice, the new owner takes the property over with a sitting tennant. It is then up to him what he decides to do when your contract is up for renewal. And no I don't think he can charge what he wants for the next 12 months. edited by Geordie expat on 24/11/2013 Part of me thinks just move ( I wont) as it is less hassle grrrr edited by sarahlou123 on 24/11/2013 Don't you dare give in :) I wont I promise :-)

I am not the best baker but would like to donate two cakes to sell on a charity event. Do you have nice and fast to make cake receipts. I have never done a cream cake as I personally do not like cream I know how to make more tea cakes. Any easy but nice receipt would be very welcome. I remember someone had shared a year ago a nice chocolate cake receipt but can not find it in the search. BBC food website recipes are easy to follow as are Jamie Olivers

Hey, Does anyone know where you can buy ugg boots in Dubai? Thanks, Chloe I don't think they sell them anywhere in Dubai, I have only ever seen EMU here I would buy online and get them shop and shipped. In Australia they are so much cheaper than the UK

It can be relet immediately (by the new landlord). Actually the old tenant may agree with the new landlord to stay in, but the rent will be a new rent, not tied to previous agreements with old landlord. What is the point of the rent calculator then?

The two agency maids I have right now as I type this certainly got out of bed the wrong side this morning. Huffing, puffing, moaning and already managed to break Hoover - they've been here 25 minutes only lol I stopped using an agency maid infact any maids as over the years they have broken 3 hoovers, a pair of earrings ( don't ask) 2 blushers, bronzers and alcohol went missing. It is easier to do it myself

Been looking at various hotel and they quote crazy prices in teh range of 12,000euros for a week!! Most hotels seem to not accept 2 adults and 2 children in 1 room, so we do not mind booking a villa, but it is so expensive?!? Should I look somewhere else? Seems like the Maldives were a better deal! Anyone has been with the children and where have you stayed? I have also been told it is very expensive when you get there. Perhaps others can advise

I read this weekend that the rent cap in Abu Dhabi has suddenly be scrapped with immediate effect presumably meaning that landlords will be able to increase the rent on renewal to whatever they like. What's the opinon on whether this will happen in Dubai soon? I thought the whole point of rent caps was to have them when the market was increasing fast (like it is now) so was a bit surprised to see them scrap it... I highly doubt they will scrap the rent calculator. Dubai has formed a larger rent committee to help with all the tenant issues. It tends to be In our favor thankfully.

My friends LL issued them with a court order last week. He gave them 90 days notice They went to the RC who laughed and said it isn't worth the paper it is written on If he wants to sell he has to give 12 months notice ( Written, notarized and sent by registered mail)

Strict with ratings??? I've seen people take toddlers into 16+ movies. Never known theaters here to be strict with anything. I believe some of them wont let kids of a certain age in after a certain time of night Did Grand Cinemas not start this ruling. Thanks @mrsg and @QueenL I really appreciate this. But the only thing that bothers is are [u'>the addendum on the contract.[/u'> Is giving out the eviction notice THE ONE and ONLY way to get me out of the apartment or is my contract expiring on 2014 and not renewed by LL enough reason for me to vacate the apartment? Does the 12-month Law over rule the addendum on the contract? I would think so otherwise all LL in the past few years would be sneaking extra stuff in He can only evict you as per the law. There is nothing in the laws saying they can evict if they make up a sentence and add it to you contract. All tenancy contracts are standard bits of paper and if the ones that LL raise as non renewable are not law

Can anyone tell me whether they get Child Benefit even though they live in Dubai? I have just met someone who said that they get CB and keep their NI payments completely uptodate. Is there any truth in this? not if you're honest about where you live !! lol I was about to say the same. How can they be claiming when they live here! I bet they have a residence in the UK that they say they live at When I was married we lived in Germany as part of the forces. Wives were tax free in their jobs and we were still classed as UK citizens even though we lived in Germany for years We were not able to claim child benefit or family allowance I didn't think NI contributions had anything to do with child benefit From someone in the relative 'know' (my sister works for the UK Benefits Agency), a British citizen with children of Child Benefit Entitlement, living say, in The Middle East, cannot claim any benefits unless sent to the region by Her Majesty's Government (for example, but not limited to, Embassy staff, military). The UK takes a very dim of view of benefit cheats and if this lady is telling you the truth of claiming, as a 'usual expat' she will be in huge trouble if caught. Bubble her ;-)

Just coming out of Al Quoz and whilst waiting at a set of traffic lights a white pajero decided to create a third lane all to himself. This was not however his greatest offence. He turned right into one of the roads leading to umm sequim (where the new road improvement works are happening) and was not prepared to wIt in the traffic queue. So he crossed to the opposite side of the road against the on coming traffic and the sand on the side, then waited for gaps between oncoming cars to move forward, yes ladies he drove the length of the road on the wrong side. Once he reached the junction he drive across the road to cut back into the traffic on the right side of the road and continue on his merry way. I can't find the posts before about shocking driving but can anyone direct me where to report this? And indicate if it is anonymous? I took a photo of his vehicle when he created the extra lane. Al Ameen I think. If I reported every day shocking drivers in Dubai I would never be off the phone!

I second Mr Porter, use it often (it's the male equivalent of netaporter, run by the same people). Excellent service and options. You should also try www.matchesfashion.com, similar site, really good gift guide and the gift wrapping is just gorgeous. All the things I liked were soooo expensive. Great website though

Thank you, everyone. I think we are cancelling plans since we don't know the condition of the roads out there. Excited about the rain, but a little disappointed that it happened the one weekend our visitor is here. Just for reference, is there a website or certain authority that advises on road conditions and warnings? If it is raining stay in. Even if the roads are not flooded the people who cant drive here make the driving conditions worse!

Here is my two pence on baby sleeping bags: * They are outrageously priced here, esp in Just Kidding. You occasionally find them in Mcare or Babyshop * I find Grobag the best brand * I order from a website called Babycurls.co.uk - they do twin packs of Grobags for 35GBP which is about 200aed for 2 (bargain) and get them shop and shipped here * I buy 1 tog as I have some 2,5 tog ones and baby is far too hot in them - better to layer up with a vest n sleepsuit than put them in and for them to start overheating Thank you for your response. How long would it take to ship to Dubai? edited by sj070511 on 21/11/2013 approx 1 week. and did u mean 200 AED inclusive of the shipping charges? Shipping is usually AED45 for anything under 1kg in weight, AED70 for every 1kg and above I think. S&S have a weight calculator on the website
