Hi, ladies, I'm looking for a good dentist for the brace of my son. He is 20 years old and he has got a brace from 2 years. we are looking for the dentist who take care of him finishing the cure. Thanks for the replay. Roberta I have just started going to dr jafar at the jumeriah beach dental centre I had a huge phobia regarding dentist however he is so good, I also have to have a brace and wouldn't go anywhere else.

having found a nice lady to command work for us,she rang today to say she is on an office visa and has been told there may be an issue transferring to a maids visa. Anyone had similar issue?? She is supposed to start on Tuesday!!!!! Ring immigration

I am tried of being taken for a ride by maids I trust, pay well and respect.. I don't want to leave it to karma to sort out whats gonna happen to my current one who is about to be fired. Is there a website where people warn each other by posting maids names and details so potential new employers can be aware. edited by Designermom71 on 26/10/2013 It would be illegal and if anyone named and shamed you could be in serious trouble due to the laws on slander. How would anyone know if the person adding names was telling the truth?

Just an update. I purchased a Samsung upright freezer from the showroom in Bur Dubai, and after much debate, I purchased a Miele vacuum last week and declared it the family Eid present :) Miele has an excellent reputation and always comes top in the best vacuum cleaners

Hi, I now have my Emirates ID and need to get my UK driving license converted. Please can you tell me where to go? Is there anywhere that is open in the evening? Thanks. To convert to a Dubai one? You need an eye test and then pop along to the registration place on SZR just after MOE on your right hand side. Next to the Gold and Diamond Park Come to think of it I don't think they do it at night agh sorry I am sure the OP will advise

Me and my husband got offer each 1500 .....tickets .appartement ...furnt. all on them...is that a good offer....we have 2 kids one need international school and the other need nursery ...can we do all of that and live a good life and safe too from 3000 ryal om. ...or it ll be tough?? It is doable Will you be both be running cars? I am not sure if it is cheaper in Oman than the UAE however the Omanis are lovely people! Hi all, Our bbq is 5 years old and as a result of much use the grill and burners have corroded. It's a EURON bbq and I've been in touch with Betterlife where we bought it who ordered new parts. It took them 4 months to bring us the wrong sizes despite tons of emails back and forth with measurements etc!!! Does anyone know of anywhere else that I can get spare parts for a BBQ? And preferably quicker than 4 months or it will be summer again before the bbq can get fired up!! Are the parts heavy? I ask this because you may be able to contact the manufacturer and have them sent here. It will probably be less of a headache for you

Thank heavens for Thursdays. As fellow Expat Women (whether some people like to think that way, it's true and we're all they same) what do we think happens that "maids" are the only Expat Women who become "too lazy" and "left to their own devises don't do their job properly"? Very true. I don't have a boss but I'm lazy and skive off all the time. Yesterday I probably should have been doing something constructive with my children but they wouldn't stop bickering so I shut myself in a quiet room with a cup of coffee and played Candy Crush :D Daza I nearly threw the Ipad at the wall struggling to reach a level on that!

I bought both from UK so they are slightly cheaper than the UAE If my memory serves me correctly the Clinique was slightly cheaper at 20GBP although I do not know the cost here. I cannot use anything that is too powdery at is just dries and cakes into my skin. oh yeah didn't read your earlier reply correctly. u use clinique BB for the day n MAC othertimes!! I know these r a bit overpriced here! I know. I try to stock up at Duty Free or at home. Visitors also bring things out for me

I believe Dr Nicholas ASP has a training centre at Dubai Healthcare City All trainee dentists are watched by the qualified ones and have to do dentistry to the highest standards. They are far more cost effective, however I do not have the contact details Dr Joy and Dr Madhu are also highly recommended. Can anyone recommend a good dentist that does charge the earth...? I go to Dr Jafar at the Jumeriah Beach Dental Centre opposite the Blue Mall ( Satwa end) on Beach Road. When you say "Doesn't cost the earth" what do you need doing? I am having fillings replaced and they cost anything from 500-800 depending on the size My checkup and X-rays were AED650 and a teeth clean was AED900 The staff are lovely and their customer service is fabulous!

Hii im a newbie here hoping some beauties out there would help me with my latest problem!! I ll try to make it short and believe this is the right place to post!!! Well I have a new body n skin of lately that doesn't like any of my previous clothes and cosmetics!!! Yeah Im in a new phase of life - "motherhood" and enjoying every moment with my tiny human. I have almost filled my wardrobe with new clothes that help to cover up those 'still to be burned baby fat' but have a major problem with choosing the right cosmetics!! Im a loyal MAC user but my MAC studio fix foundation doesn't suit my skin anymore. My skin has become really dry and uneven. (Maybe the pregnancy hormones and sleepless nights have to be blamed ). I want a foundation that would help me look fresh and evened out. Heard MAC prolongwear concealer mixed with a moisturiser would do great on dry skin. Is anyone out there using the same. I really really want some help on this one soon cos I have a party coming up!!!!!.. I use Mac and always will, however for the day I have now converted to Clinique BB cream It evens out my skin tone ( I am prone to redness) and gives me a lovely glow when applied with a brush. I like the dewy look. I have combination skin, very dry on the cheeks

What ever happened to walking the dog yourself???? My mum use to walk the dog before work, take us to school, go to work, pick us up, make dinner, then walk the dog together at night. ! Like I hate how everyone slates maids. Yes there probably are a few bad apples but I have seen enough lazy/rude expats also. .

I recently vacated my apartment after a request from the landlord that his "family" would be moving in (should've known this was suspect....) I should mention the correct 1 year notice period was observed.The apartment has now been leased with a rental increase of 45000 (was 70000 now 11500) surprise surprise! My initial thoughts are to approach the Rental Committee (I am aware that compensation could be sought) however, the contract was never registered with Ejari. Will they still accept my case? Any thoughts, advice, experience would be appreciated. Thanks Yes you can.

I wish it was only dogs!. I see (lazy) maids with toddlers strapped in their strollers in JBR just sitting around either on the phone or having a chat together. ALL TODDLERS STRAPPED in the stroller, so they cannot run around and those lazy maids dont have to move their bottoms to chase after them. Defeats the purpose of taking them out, really. I have also witnessed maids allowing children to pee in the same sand pit where the kids are playing, because they are too lazy to take them to the toilets 50 meters away (also in JBR). Unfortunately maids, if left to their own devices dont do their job properly. Generalize much??????

Morning! If you've ordered from New Look - how was your package received? did it get delivered by courier to your door, or to your PO Box and you had to collect it. Mine is 'lost in transit' so they are processing a refund but just wondering where it should have gone! Thanks, Mine used to go to the main post office and were constantly late or didn't arrive I only shop and ship now as they come straight to my office

hello ladies... i need to arrange a business dinner event for some clients at work (just around 10-12 people) and am looking out for nice restaurants with a private dining room... I checked at IVY(EmiratesTowers) and AMAL (Armani) but their rates are a lil crazy (starting at AED 450 per head)... I'm looking for something around the 300-350 mark... if you know of anything can you let me know... thanks! I think the Towers Rotana/ Flavors on 2 has one on SZR I do not know the prices though

Yes - and an International World Wide event with visitors coming from ALL over the world - no way can they cancel or move or stop or whatever!! It will go ahead as usual I am sure this happened when the 7's was on, maybe 2008-2009 It wasn't dry there I am sure they can exempt sporting events but a concert isn't a sporting event..... and concerts have been cancelled before; just sayin It doesn't affect me but I understand where everyone is coming from What time does the F1 finish as sundown is 6pm now or thereabouts

I am so sorry to hear your news 2 of my friends were diagnosed in January of this year and have just completed their treatment ( One in Dubai, one in the UK) There is a support group called Brest friends in Dubai whom you can contact. Just been notified the apartment we are renting has been sold, we didn't know it was for sale and no came to look at it? I know there isn't much we could have done, but I would have thought that we should have been told it was for sale? I don't think they have to tell although it would be nice I think they only have to inform you if they want you to vacate

We just moved here from Canada two months ago. We are looking for a nice place to go for our Anniversary dinner. We have two older teenage children with us. We are starting the evening with a trip to the Burj Khalifa at 4:30. My husband is not a curry fan and my teenagers will eat anything. We would like somewhere with a nice wine list. Thanks. I imagine the flight will be packed and if someone has already booked the seats then they cannot turf them out to accommodate your Husband. I would do what the OP suggests and ask on the return or see who is sat there when you are on the plane Airlines can only accommodate if they have the space.
