Thanks for that. Unfortunately it isn't letting us pay online and we have to go in to pay it, but not sure where or when it is open and its really hard to find out! They police stations in the not so populated Emirates are open Sun-Thurs from 07.30am-2.00pm The Police station on SZR where you have to pay certain fines( not ones you can pay online) only opens 07.30am-2.00pm as per the government hours

Hi Ladies Please can you advise whether there have been any changes to the arrivals/greeting area of T1. We have friends coming for Easter with British Airways. Do you still have to wait outside the building? I know there used to be the Ladies area on the right as they will exit - I want to tell my friends exactly where to look for me as coming out of those doors can be quite overwhelming. TIA! My friend picked me up early January from Terminal 1 She was waiting inside and because my luggage took ages I told her to wait in the coffee shop There were people waiting inside the terminal

Hello, I need your advise urgently. Im from Belgium and ive been offered a job in Dubai. But im a single mom with no father in the picture, I haven't been married and I have a blank space in my sons passport. I called immigration and I was told I would not be able to sponsor my child. Has anyone had this situation? anyone aware if anything can be done? Thanks in advance You can sponsor him as I have a friend who sponsors her Son and she is a single Mum ( Dad in the UK) I do think you need the Fathers written permission though

It is one of the first things people find out about when making the decision to come here - normally a critical element in deciding whether to say yes or no. This policy was set in further in stone after the many people left huge debts here and ran and landlords said they still have to pay their mortgages on the house being rented and cannot risk non payment if the tenant decides to run - because running here, unlike the rest of the world, means boarding a plane and leaving to a country where they cannot be brought to justice. Whereas in the rest of the world it means running to a different zip code where they can be caught. Mortgages on buy-to-let properties still have to be paid everywhere else in the world too, but nowhere else do they expect the tenant to take on 100% of the risk. Buying to let is meant to be an inherently risky business, so using the whole mortgage argument as justification for the one cheque system really doesn't wash. Dubai is a very transient region and the vast majority of people here are ex pats. If they lose their job or cannot afford to pay the rent, they can skip. The threat of that is far higher than in other countries. In the UK for example people who flee a property can be found quite easily whereas here if they have skipped they cannot That doesn't mean I agree with the 1 cheque rule :-)

I want to move job - thats the plan. iN my current job they didn't ask for attested degrees, copy was ok. In case I find another job, do I need now attested copy ( means UAE embassy in German) ? ADEC have closed all the schools in Abu Dhabi however the Mums at my work ( Dubai) said their kids are staying in and the schools aren't closing. I imagine they will only close if the weather gets worse and at present it is ok

I also have dry skin and suffer with breakouts easily for years i've been using Clinique 3 step process for dry skin... but then i suddenly started to break out with milia on my face. then a friend of mine who is a beautician told me the clinique moisturizer is too thick for my skin so she recommended to switch to dermalogica so now i'm using clinique face wash for dry skin, clinique clarifying lotion for dry skin and then the dermalogica clear start day cream (which you can only get in the dermalogica stores, not the pharmacies) all the milia have gone and i've noticed a huge difference in my skin i might even try the rest of the dermalogica range (face wash and toner) but i still have tons of clinque left over to get through first which i don't want to waste since its not cheap! I have been using Glam Glow mud mask ( Friend bought it me for my birthday) it tingles a bit but gosh does it make your skin look glowy. I used it last week then went to my friends house makeup less they all commented on my skin straight away saying you look really fresh and glowing ( They didn't know I had used it) It isn't cheap and I have only been able to get it from tips and toes but I am sticking to it, when it tingled at first I was worried as I have really sensitive skin but it was fine I found the white and black pot were the best

Not sure how you feel about sleeping tablets? Maybe see a GP or even go to the chemist - they might have a natural remedy? I don't think they will prescribe medical sleeping tabs for flying in Dubai I ended up in hospital with a back injury and even then they wouldn't prescribe a muscle relaxant just diclofenac :lol:

Hi ladies, I've recently moved to Dubai and looking to meet other ladies around 25-35 (kids / no kids / working / not working ) I enjoy going for a drink or lunch / shopping / beach / movies etc.. I did go to the coffee meet up but like I've read in other threads most of the ladies had groups that they stuck with and although everyone I met was lovely most of them had children that were my age, so we didn't really have too much in common. Are there any other meet up groups that I can go to that I meet people around my age group? Does the area you live in have a FB page? I also believe there is a British Mums FB page too that you can join. MeetUp Dubai is another one that has different interest groups

Hi Ladies... Would love to hear your tips for getting some sleep on an overnight economy flight I always struggle with this and i have a night flight coming up and would love to get at least 2 or 3 hours in but i always really battle & end up arriving absolutely shattered any thing you do that helps you get some rest in that uncomfortable upright position? thank you :) Upgrade to business :-) That is the only way I can sleep as I am flat. I cannot sleep sitting up and feel your pain :sleeping: I wish i could, but i booked the emirates staff discount tickets through a friend, so i cant even upgrade using my miles :cry: the only bad thing about those cheap fares, that you cant upgrade or get air miles. But suppose you cant complain when you're paying such a low fare i get so jealous of people that are asleep the whole way sitting up... i just cant do it! I have only slept once through an entire flight I took 2 paracetamol night and had 3 G&Ts and woke up upon landing. I also dislike people who sleep all the way through. I doze off but then wake up thinking hours have passed when only 10 minutes has gone by :cry:

Hi, Can anyone recommend a good surgeon for Upper Lid Surgery in Dubai? Also can you comment on your experience? I have heard horrible stories of surgery going wrong and it is quite scary to go through it. Botox or surgery? Thank you Dr Jaffar Khan did my friends upper eyelid surgery last year ( She had a lot of loose skin) She is a complete wuss when it comes to procedures however was pleasantly surprised that there was no pain whatsoever and she went back to work straight away with just 2 steri strips covering the stitches. It looks great and at some point I will be meeting with him for lower lid surgery Botox wont do much and isn't permanent whereas the surgery will Several friends back home in the UK have had both upper and lower done in Europe and they look great.

Hello ladies, seems like in Dubai the help of consultants in beauty shops is always useless. I always end up with wrong foundation. Now frustrated I'm reaching out to you. If you ever got a decent service and had a nice experiece in some particular shop, please suggest where and maybe even WHO is nice and professional (!). Now my list Dubai Marina Mall Mac- always waste of money/time Sephora- used to be OK, now waste of money/time JBR Sephora- horrible merchanize, no samples and testers MOE- Sephora never lucky to be matched anything decent there as well Thank you and hope it helps someone like me as well Nowhere here. I've always shopped at home and they just bought them here. Sephora at MOE are awful and their customer service is shocking I did find makeup forever in Dubai Mall quite good. I don't think they are trained as the US and UK staff are hence they haven't a clue

I have a similar question about a relative. The difference is that she is coming from the US. I know there is a 30 day visa you can get automatically on entry. However, do not want to have the hassle of doing a visa run. I assume that getting a ninety day visit visa to the UAE is not an issue? Not very clear on the relevant governmental website. I don't think they issue 90 day ones to Americans only Schengen and other nationals who don't get them on arrival and have to apply in their own country before they enter Your relative can go to immigration as the 30 days expire for another 30 days. Could I ask what technique Dr Tahir uses? I don't know the tech name for the procedure but they made an incision on each breast then it was lifted and stitched in the new position and the excess skin removed she also had a enlargement done at the same time Her nipples were then removed and repositioned so they looked right. Because of the scars around her nipples she had them tattooed the same colour and they look amazing Tattoo was done in the UK though

I have just got my emirates ID and need to get an emirates driving licence converted from my UK one. My husband's work provided his NOC but as he is my sponsor is it just the same letter with my name and his name changed? Obviously he doesn't have a seal, is his signature enough? Sorry if it's obvious to some of you old-timers but it took him 3 trips to the Licencing place to get this right, I am trying to avoid a repeat! It was bad enough as we are Dubai resident but live in AD for his work so it causes a lot of confusion at any government office..... Hi ,im thinking of getting a breast lift but can't decide who to choose DrAshok Govila ,Dr bhutaina shunnar , Dr Saba almaroush And if someone got it done recently how much do they charge. Dr Imran Tahir did 2 of my friends and the results were amazing ( I have only had enlargement) Both didn't take any painkillers and went back to work within a week I don't know if you have considered him but he is highly recommended

Everyone will say it's best to go the natural way, but perhaps you're like me... Eating healthy and exercising regular takes time to show results, and I'm just not a very patient person. If I don't feel or look different quickly, I give up :thinking: silly yes I'm not too clued up on pills, but I've tried the skinny me tea detox and just ordered my first C9 so I'll let you know! You will lose a lot of water weight on C9 I have several friends who did it and lost around 9lbs but once they resumed normal eating they put it all back on again. Good Luck with it though :-) Slimming pills can give you awful side effects and completely mess your metabolism up. They were very popular in the bank I used to work in and sent some of the girls a little loopy.

My friends Daughter had Cervarix done at the American Hospital She cannot remember how much it cost but when they offered it me back in 2007 ( I was in my mid 30's) it was around AED120 so I imagine it has gone up significantly by now Give them a call and they should be able to quote you a price Here is the difference between the two There are two vaccinations available in the UAE, the first is Gardasil, which will protect you from strains 6, 11, 16 and 18 – , 6 and 11 are linked to genital warts, and 16 and 18 are two strains that can give you cervical cancer. The other vaccination available in the UAE is Cervarix, which is for 16, 18, 31 and 45, so it does not cover genital wart strains. The difference between these two vaccinations is firstly that Gardasil is only effective from the age of nine up to 26, whereas Cervarix can be given from the age of 10 up to the age of 55. Both vaccinations are given in three separate injected doses. The first can be given anytime, the second one is a month later, and the third is four months later.

I heard that to renew the Dubai residence visa I need now to provide a 'attested marriage certificate'. We moved here in 2010 from Germany and actually they never asked for it, but seems now... Any idea how to do it from here? I am also working on my husbands sponsorship ;) I only have my original german marriage certificate and a copy that was notarized in Germany. Anyone possibly know ? Also we have a health insurance in Germany, so we don't one here. But the rules now say you need one. We could show proof that we have a much better private health insurance in Germany. Ladies, if you have a facial in a medical setting (dermatologist or plastic surgery office) vs a spa....do you still tip? I know when I did visits with a massage therapist at an Osteopath office they told me not to tip because it's a medical appt vs a spa luxury. I don't want to cheat anyone out of a deserved tip so just checking on etiquette for facials! I never tip in that situation. I don't think it is the thing to do

Hi there, I think Reductil is great, I've been on just about everything, and Reductil is doing the best for me. I have been taking it for about 3 weeks now from http://meridiareductil.com. With diet and exercise, I have lost 4.5 kg. It is great and really curbs my hunger and cravings. I take it at 6am every morning and I still have enough energy to go home after work and do my 90 minutes of exercise. I'm starting to feel more comfortable in my own skin again and this is awesome. It's true that I have had a few side effects such as dry mouth and headaches but after the first week, these side effects subsided. I would recommend them to anyone seriously trying to lose weight. Along with diet and exercise it works perfectly. I thought Reductil was taken off the market as it was linked to heart problems and strokes? Any such medicine should be prescribed by a DR and the patient monitored on a regular basis as it is prescribed for Obesity Personally speaking I would never recommend someone buy an anti obesity drug which is a POM in most countries online. You are lucky that you haven't had any side effects however others may and some of them are awful

Hi, Does anyone know if it is legal for a company to charge you if you end your contract with a 30 days notice? And if it is legal how much can they charge? I would love to get out of my 1 year limited contract with my company who I have been with for 8 months. I do not have a visa with them just a labor card. Any advice? Thanks. Limited contracts usually last for 2 years however I have seen the odd one for a year Yes it is legal for them to charge you a fee if you leave before the 12 months is up Limited contracts can also apply a 6 month immigration ban therefore I would seek advice for the latter with the MOL

No we are talking about a Swedish passport not a British one British passport holders get 30 days on arrival then can do unlimited visa runs Sweden is part of Schengen. The U.K. However isn't Schengen country passport holders get a 90 days upon arrival

You can take the books to House of Prose. It's a second hand book shop. Or find someone who has a table at one of the flea markets and get them to sell them for you. Does House of Prose buy second hand books? I used to sell mine there but they don't give you much for them I used to take them to the one inside the Garden Centre on SZR
