So confusing - as I call it breakfast, lunch and dinner Northerner DH calls it breakfast, dinner and tea And what will TDB juniors call it? Southern ways triumphed over northern in our house and it's breakfast, lunch and dinner. Things get confusing when the in-laws are in town. No idea lol. Isn't supper dreadfully posh? and eaten at say 8pm, whereas "tea" is more of a 5pm meal... We used to have supper at 8pm. It usually consisted of cheese and crackers

Hi ladies, Can you recommend a cheap company who can come and assemble some IKEA furniture? IKEA charge 500aed to deliver and assemble so I am looking at something a bit cheaper. Thanks! :) Howdra did mine I think they charge AED200 per hour ( call and check though)

How much did the spray tan cost? I have had several. Essentials I find are the best in Dubai. They use St Tropez, no streaking or orange colour. Cost AED180 and mine usually lasts 5 days

Good evening ladies, I have done a fairly extensive search of EW and the internet more generally, but the information I I keep finding seems a little out of date. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good "Saturday Brunch" option? I am hoping to find something akin to that found on a Friday... Good food, atmospheric, alcohol package etc. At the moment Beachcombers is looking like the best option, followed by Mazina... Of course both have their drawbacks as one is only Asian cuisine and the other might be a bit too child-friendly for us without children. Any advice gratefully received. Cheers, mrs_cobb Traditionally the lively brunches are to be found on a Friday, I have yet to hear of a lively one on a Saturday. Beachcombers has a beautiful setting but even on a Friday it is very sedate.

I would like to renew my Tenancy Contract for another year and our present contract expires on Nov 4, 2013. Going through the contents of our contract which was prepared by a real estate agency, I read: 1. Renewal of the Tenancy is at the discretion of the Landlord. 2. The Tenant has to submit 90 days written notice prior to the end of the Tenancy Contract to the Landlord before vacating the unit or renewing the tenancy contract. I failed to do this. Will the Landlord have the right to eject me immediately on Nov 4, 2013? No, if he wants to suggest any changes he also needs to contact you within those 3 months. Failing that the contract roles over again for 12 months ( providing you aren't on a non renewable, which you will see written on the contract)

Confused.com 300,000 more jobs could be created with 25 million people visiting Dubai. 90 per cent of the job opportunities would occur from 2018 to 2021, with most of the jobs created in the travel and tourism sector. 25 million for the EXPO ( wow)

Shops charge what they think people are willing to pay, not what products are worth, (obviously i mean over the value of the items) if they think they can get an 80% margin they will try. Shops make more than suppliers on practically every food item. Too true, I buy food here as I have to but clothes no, I order online now, as even with the cost of shipping they are sooo much cheaper Yep, the clothes thing is crazy! most of them are manufactured in the far east so how can they be cheaper in the UK than in the middle east? they travel at lot less to come here :) I try on here and buy at home. The sales are so good at home and case in point is a dress I bought in Oasis UK, sales cost 20 pounds its over 800 Dirhams here!

My uncles brother was a jail head. Prisoners tend to have their own ways of dealing with pedophiles. It includes a broom, barb wire and karma. Shocking, although my friend at home is a Prison Officer close to Eastbourne and she said they are all segregated from the main prison so they cannot be touched So wrong

Hi there. I am looking for a good and reliable place that can do replacement on brake pads and rotors. Went to Emarat today and they are a little expensive (about 1,500aed for front rotors only and brake pads on all 4 wheels). Bridge over Business Bay I got to Dubai Airport FZ a lot from DIFC takes me 15 minutes over business bay You can get onto business bay from Al Khail also

So I was in Waitrose in Marina Mall last night and picked up a bag of Waitrose Essential (their equiv of Tesco value) potatoes got to the counter to pay and thought my bill was a lot so I queried it. 65AED for a small bag of potatoes. They told me that they are imported British potatoes which makes them expensive... (I bit my tounge) Anyway, it was my fault as I couldnt see the price of them so just put them in the trolley but just a heads up. I dont mind paying money for good quality stuff but dont rip me off.... :-) 11 pounds for a bag of spuds! I would expect them to peel, fry, bake, roast themselves for that cost ;-)

Parking in that area is not my favourite. Any advise? There is ample parking close by CNN If you cannot get right outside I am sure you will find somewhere close by I have never had an issue parking in Media City and the weather is so nice now that a short walk wont turn you into a melting mess!

There is a quick and simple way to fit into those jeans... Buy a new size :) Then eat up! Women are lucky, we have nice hips and muffin tops. Pump them up :) lol! Well i kinda have been doing that! I have a selection of jeans from size 8 up to 14! I just cant face throwing the size 8's out as I truly believe that one day I will fit into them again (delusional!) Man I just love food!! Me too!

Hi Ladies my husband just got an offer for a new job starting beginning of 2014 in the US. I would like to know from someone with a similar experience if it's possible for me and the kids to stay in Dubai until the end of the school year. No idea about VISA's and burocracy involved TIA You may have to do visa runs if you have the passports that are allowed to do this Will your medical insurance be cancelled along with DH visa?

@Simpleasabc you are not alone.... I think it is only appropriate that parents are asked to dress respectfully whilst in the presence of children, i.e no boobs or *ss hanging out..... and respectful to the culture by covering our shoulder and knees, I have no problem with this. Thankfully I am subjected to the scene as Irooni mentioned any longer :-) In the presence of adults also Emlsnre. I don't want to be subjected to it thank you very much I am quite concerned about the amount of teenage girls I see here ( With Mum) wearing the briefest of shorts. There was a young girl in T&T last week and she bent down revealing far too much. Save it for Maluf No quite right, but watching some women breakdance their way through the car park in their 8" stilettos still makes me cry :-) OMG really Yes really, well they may be have 7".... I haven't laughed so much in ages and she did make me cry... Bless. Have you seen that clip of the woman trying to walk in a car park on You Tube I think.... She knows people are watching her, not so sure she realised they were filming.... I wish I had captured it, it was so much funnier.... But there I am sure she felt great. Has anyone seen Dubai flags for sale anywhere. I've never seen them for sale in the usual places though they'd be easy to make at the tailors. would like to fly them in the run up to the Expo 2020 bid, but failing that the UAE one will do. 63 days to go!!!!!!!!!!!!! Karama sell them haha

well, sarahlou, I wonder where in the UK you can escape the low slung jeans exposing the thong top ewwww and tattoo, muffin tops, overflowing necklines etc....walking down our high street is like being an extra on Jeremy Kyle !! lol And I've noticed that exposed flesh is in direct proportion to the amount ie those with the most seem to bare the most !! lol sorry to wander OT.. I was home in Chester two weeks ago and no leggings, uggs or hot pants to be seen! Now if I ventured slightly further afield, through a tunnel then no doubt I would of seen what you saw haha ugh UGGS...now there IS an abomination....just what the..... ewwwww lol I didn't see one pair this time.... not a single one! AXA do it as part of their insurance but you pay extra Pop to Barsha, go through the testing it Go inside, join the ladies queue and voila. I only had to give them my ID card and PO Box and they had all my insurance details/residence visa on screen Easy peasy thanks girls! So, I first have to do the test and afterwards I have to enter the building and join the ladies queue? Are they open on Saturdays as well? Test first as you drive in. Take a ticket, then inside, ladies queue on the right. Yes to Saturday :-)
