It seems quite a recent thing that songs with dodgy lyrics are so mainstream. There is much much worse out there (Ice T's 99 Problems springs to mind) but in the past you'd have to specifically buy songs with such content, they wouldn't just be played on the radio. It works both ways, Rihanna's Rude Boy sexualised men in not a very flattering way. Jay Z's 99 problems hehe Daza but then Ice T was just as bad! I remember the album covers of his :-)

Maybe you're too young but a few of us will remember Frankie Goes to Hollywood, 'Relax', or 'White Lines' (can't remember who sang that)? 'My Ding a Ling' by Chuck Berry was a bit risque. And what about some of Duran Duran's videos? Oh and just about anything penned by Shaun Ryder. I don;t wish to impose my views on others, but personally Bruno Mars annoys me more than this stuff. @ sarahlou123 I have bunch of songs I do not allow it at home or in the car, however this video is age restricted, however it's free for everybody to hear it on radio in UAE, just listen to the lines like: You wanna hug me What rhymes with hug me? or the part he is elaborating about what he will tear her into 2 !!!! or the part that she is crying and he is not enjoying it while she is crying!!!! this is all too graphic and yes you can not see the video, but the way he is describing the whole thing, with offensive F words - not the exact F one - so this is all in the ears of everybody. so yes it's like someone is describing rape and saying the good girl can not say she want it but she does wants it! if this is not rape, then what is rape? Perhaps you should write to the newpapers and radio stations to have it removed/complain All the clubs play this song also, it is the way the world is now ( And no I do not agree with it all) The singer has a child of his own and is also married however I suppose all he cares about is what sells and how much money he makes

I would like something that is fun too but some of the aerobics classes I have seen look seriously hardcore. I dont want to injure myself in order to get fit. I prefer classes instead of these bootcamp type things too. I have never been to a hardcore class here. They cater for all levels and et you move at your own pace. Explain to the instructor before you start

Yes,healthy food options are scarce unless you want to eat subway all the time. Been on diet and its always a struggle when going to the mall and everyone is hungry to find a place that has healthy options too. In addition to that, I would like it if grocery stores would stock low calorie cordials. edited by Asti on 22/09/2013 Drink water ? Haha! Thats what my DH says but I prefer cooldrink. Not a big fan of plain water. Sad but true. Just add a splash of cordial. In moderation it is okay

Surely you would want to put them all onto an external hard drive not a DVD disc? All the movies which are on your iphone will be stored in your itunes which in turn will be saved on your laptop. Simply insert the external hard drive into the laptop and copy them over. I use a hardrive for all mine Save space on my phone and laptop

Hello, we would like to spend a day on the Palm, but my DH says it's almost impossible to get there, back and around with a taxi, that the tram line is not connected to any other means of transport on the Beach Road. Would it really be so hard with a child? Where on the Palm will you be spending the day?

There are so many conflicting laws below… edited by pepito on 19/09/2013 12 months written notice and if he doesn't move in you can take him to the RC

I have yet to find a hair stylist I will let touch my hair in Dubai but DH (who needs his hair done more often) just goes from one disaster to the next. The amazing thing is that the same stylist can create an entirely different disaster each time he goes. He used to go to Gentleman's Tonic in London and HK. So imagine his delight when one opened in Dubai. After several months of going there he has discovered this is not Gentleman's Tonic but yet another place in Dubai that has opened, slapped on a reputable brand name then employed a few untrained serfs that are incapable of delivering anything near what you are used to. My first complaint were the awful haircuts, he once came out with a very short back and sides and some kind of girly puffy long gelled hair thing on top, it was beyond a joke. It is a shame as he has come out with one or two good haircuts but they are completely unable to maintain any kind of consistency - I mean honestly how hard can it be?! My second complaint was the 'treatment' they charged him something astronomical like 500 AED for. A treatment he said he didn't want. The funny thing was after this they offered him a free hair cut and when he went back they did the treatment again because it was 'on his record' and tried to charge him for it again! Now if they keep records you would imagine they would be able to maintain some sort of consistency with his hair colour. His hair is salt and pepper but the last five years it is more salt with a few flecks of pepper. In London they do a great wash in colour that makes it look more pepper with flecks of salt (i.e. keeping some of the grey). This place just does a 'block' of colour. Sometimes it's black, sometimes it's dark brown and this time round it was a very sexy blue/black wig colour. So that's it, I will shave his head. Unless anyone can suggest anywhere in Dubai that employs people who actually have a remote clue as to what they are doing? Whilst we are on the subject anywhere that does a proper wet shave (like in Turkey) without slicing and dicing and with actually removing the facial hair? His wet shaves seem to consist of a whole ton of cuts and barely any less facial hair than when he went in. There is a British guy who cuts hair on Beach Road I do not know the name of the salon however I think his name is Julian and the OP may help Most of my male friends use the Western stylists who do mobile hairdressing

Great Lengths, Great Lengths, Great lengths They are the best I have ever had ( and I have had many salons and makes) They don't need to be straightened, haven't lost any, whereas 10% is the going rate on most extensions. my friend does mine and they are fab as I have seen some terrible ones here

Lynn, The landlord's notice must also be notarized and he must prove that he does not own a suitable alternative property for the purpose of his moving in. He also cannot relet the property to anyone for residential purposes for 2 years following your move-out date or else you can take him to the rent committee and he will have to compensate you. Live out of town and need to post a letter...have heard horror stories of the main post office. Can you buy stamps anywhere else and can you post a letter anywhere else....letter going to UK....why does it have to be so difficult! What one person likes in terms of a mattress topper might not be what another person likes. We bought a mattress topper at The One -- but it was very expensive. Last year I purchased a memory foam mattress topper at Home Centre. I like it -- hubby doesn't. IKEA may also have them. As with anything else though, they are sometimes hard to find and you just have to keep checking back. I saw them at home centre but they were different sizes to my bed so I couldn't buy one They are soooo comfy

My DH's birthday is tomorrow and I've been searching for quite a while now for a romantic venue to celebrate his birthday and all is outdoors which is impossible at this time of year! Been to Reflets on his previous birthday and to pier chic on our anniversary in march... Where do I take him then??? The evenings are not that hot anymore and most of the restaurants have fans outside for the humidity. We had dinner outside yesterday and it was really nice. We were at the Jetty Lounge on Monday and the weather was gorgeous. Not at all humid and I am useless in the heat

I've been watching this thread with interest as we are in the same situation. Our landlord sent via registered post a years notice to vacate stating the reason that he wanted to move in. we then signed a non-renewable contract (I wish we knew we could have refused to sign it). My question therefore is - as he has stated the reason for notice is him wishing to move in - if he doesn't adhere to that and rents the villa again, do we have any comeback or is the fact that we have a non-renewable contact seal our fate and we have to packup and ship out....... .. I WANT TO LIVE IN A VILLA FOR MORE THAN 2 YEARS......". AAAAAGH!!! Hi Lynn My understanding is that with a regular contract ( not a non renewable one) then if they give you 12 months to vacate as they wish to move in and don't you can then take them through the rent committee. I have no idea on non renewables and would call the rent committee for clarification and get something in writing from them Most LL use this ploy to hike the rent

The new trick is stalking people on linked in, they can access all your details via there and then just call the reception of your company and get put through, happened to a friend of mine at 7 Days! She was livid to say the least. But reverse it back on them and look at their profile and you will find that so many of them, 6 months ago were working as the manager of burgerfuel or river island!! Yeah really competent to advise us on our my personal finances!! We get this all the time and they have got nasty when we have said we aren't interested

I had a phone call from somebody working with the d*V*** Group yesterday (I only remember the name because of "To the Manor Born"). He greeted me as if I was his long lost friend, though I'd never heard of him, nor his manager who he told me I knew. He went away sharpish when I told him we had no money to invest and were looking for a loan to do up a property elsewhere :) I wondered where he'd got my details from - could it have been here? I've had the same - and it's annoying how they talk to you like they know you . He started off saying a friend of mine had given him my details but the Christian name he called me by wasn't what my friends call me... Who knows how they get our number - mobile numbers here are requested routinely all the time... When they call me I say one moment turn the volume up on the radio and put my phone next to it, they soon hang up! Hee hee

We have been using a guy called Rafi for years for curtains, blinds, upholstery, etc. He recently recovered DD's sun lounger cushions and did a great job. He will come to you and bring samples but don't take his first price. Can I have his number please :-)

hairdresser for this friday........... You ladies are always coming up trumps with responses and I have searched on here and even been in touch with both ladies who seem to be recommended on here - Heidi and Maureen, sadly one is not available and the other admits she's not great at what I'm after :-( It's my big four oh this weekend and I'm having a bit of a do and would love to have my hair put in an 'up do'. Thing is, I'm having a staycation at the venue where the party is, so I don't really want to leave the hotel to drive to a salon, losing precious 'staycation' time :-) I've spoken to the hotel salon, but I have no confidence in their ability, out of 4 different stylists I spoke to, not one understood what an 'up do', 'chignon', 'french pleat' or just plain 'can you put my hair up' was. So, if anyone knows of a fab stylist who is mobile, I would appreciate it so much. Thank you Ladies. Jet set on neach road do up dos and plaits, I have had my hair done there Most mobile hairdressers I know will not work on a Friday as it is the only day they have off My mobile lady will only come on Friday for extensions and kerastraight etc I took a photo into the salon before I had mine done so they knew exactly what I wanted
