Anyone know what the regulations are at the airport and Emirates when flying with formula? We normally use cooled boiled water to mix formula and bring a bottle everywhere we go to prepare bottles but Im not sure we'll be allowed through with this water? Anyone with recent experience please? I am sure it is okay. Do they not just make you drink some of it to test it?

One of the worst experiences I had was in Boots.I was with my 13yr old DD who wanted a particular shampoo which they didn't have.Having run the gammit of various overly helpful assistants, we were desended upon by a really domineering slightly older woman who I took to be the manageress. I just couldn't get rid of her. She seemed to be trying in a vary obvious way to set an examble of how to sell to other staff .She then looked at my DD who has a few teenage spots and after announcing that she had a very bad acne problem, proceeded to hard sell a range of skin care items that we had no interest in.My poor DD was mortified and we couldn't get out of the shop fast enough. I can't bear being followed round and sold to I would rather go without! That is terrible!

1440 for which area? I would love to freeze my forehead so I cannot move it anymore! I am sure lines are just around the corner for me. I had around my eyes, bunnies ( nose) and forehead. I do not like the frozen look and like to have some movement. My lines are very faint on the forehead so I did not need a lot there. He asks you which areas you think are bad and advised on that. He was not needle happy and just went in everywhere which is good :-)

Bless her, We were in the same boat when my DD was 9 ! I gave in and got her a 'starter bra' ,but it wasn't really a bra, more of a cropped vest with very thin straps,( boob tube type of thing) i'm sure you can find something like that in m&s, i know 9 is early and she might not have anything yet but girls can be cruel!! Take advantage of the summer holidays for her to try it out at home. :) That is what my niece had One girl in my primary had a huge chest ( we were all flat) and she was teased constantly for wearing a bra as we all still wore vests! I used to wear bikini top under my school shirt haha

I am trying to find a reliable limo company that can take my maid to the nursery and back to pick up my DS. Does this exist in Dubai and any idea how the prices compare to the very unreliable Dubai Taxi company? Assist.ae Careem I imagine they will be much more expensive than Dubai taxi though

Help I am in dire need of a hair do, colour, treatment the lot, my hair has decided to go nearly blonde in a week of arriving here lol and no matter wearing hat, conditioner etc I cant do a thing with it. How much is it for colour, cut and blow dry etc here in Dubai? And had a look at your beauty section and found im not far from hairworks in JBR, does anyone have any tips or recommendations for salons to choose?? I am blond and use Donna at Roots She can come to your house and is much cheaper than the salons ( I pay 200 for my roots and 100 for cut) She is British and very good her number is 055-4091400

Hello, cheap ones at Daiso (Japanese discount store) in Mushrif mall or more pricey ones at ACE hardware. I've used both and both ok. ..only thing is where ever you going you'd need a vacuum cleaner at the other end :) Hope this helps :) I got mine from ACE

Hi ladies, just wondered if there was anyone that you know that comes to your house to do a blow dry and make up for you? I tried calling Brush and Co but the numbers don't exist anymore so thinking they are no longer operating. Would love some recommendations please as have a party at home in 2 weeks and thought it would be a nice treat to have my hair and make up done at home. Thanks! I know a good mobile hairdresser but no idea about makeup ladies sorry

I have to agree with TBD. I was always jealous of the kids who got "paid" for good grades but not that I'm older I realize why my parents didn't do it. We were expected to do our best in school. Yes, you can celebrate your success, but the objective should be to do your best not to get paid. For a lot of my classmates the money seemed to be the objective. We'd celebrate a good report card by going out for ice cream--a real treat in our family. Sounds lame maybe by Dubai standards, but it is something we looked forward to. You've already promised him money this term, but maybe you want to reconsider for future report cards. My family were exactly the same

I got my birth certificate and marriage attested here at the British embassy then dubai courts. It was fairly easy. If your husbands company has a PRO they may even do it for you. You may not need your degree attesting, depends what sort of job you do. I never had mine and was never asked for it in any job, I do PA work. Also if you stay on your husbands sponsorship you may not need it. It is a huge requirement now compared to a few years ago Nearly all of my clients in and out of the FZ ask for them for every candidate in any role It is definitely worth getting it done. Immigration have been turning down visas of people who have not had attested certs if they change jobs within 2 years.

I am dying to see RB in Abu Dhabi in August where he starts his world tour. There is no info on his own website but it was mentioned in the National. It is at the Yas Arena. Anyone know when the tickets go on sale and how much? TIA! This is all I could find but keep an eye on Time Out Tickets Dubai as they will most likely sell them http://www.ahlanlive.com/russell-brand-s-headed-the-uae--269165.html

I remember the Monaco thread Daza!! Lady all proud of her move to a new house in Dubai as it had an additional floor level which would be soooooooo convenient when she has guests around. Second lady casually saying oh we are moving as well - first lady asking where to? - second lady casually saying "to Monaco" - First lady went yellow!!! I remember that thread hilarious!

That is the most logical option, Tallybalt, and would be the done thing anywhere in the world but I was under the impression that it is considered illegal. Wasn't there a long thread about this recently when a poster was inquiring about where to rent a villa to share with her housemates? Am I wrong? I know villa shares are illegal however I do not know the rule on apartments I feel guys living with girls would be deemed illegal however 2 guys etc?

I have just been adopted by a 6 week old kitten - markings like an arabian mau.... he is mad and he squeaks and so far he is being called squeak.... He also had suicidal tendencies as keeps going and tormenting my 7 year old cat, playing with her tail while she's eating.... and gets a good smack.... but you does it again... If anyone can suggest a name.... other than squeak. I like the name Gizmo as in the little one from Gremlins :-)

I don't know what happened to my previous thread I posted yesterday. Here it is again I'm planning to do one in the next 6 months. Need to know who is the best doctor, who can give the most natural look, and is not a snob. Have already heard about dr jaffer khan, dr Ashoka govilla..are they good? Thanks, will appreciate supportive comments I used Jaffer Khan 3 years ago He was fantastic and mine look very natural as I despise the fake balloon look He had a huge waiting list but worth it. I did not take any painkillers and was back in work after 2 days. They itched like crazy though!

Nope, sorry SSAN. This is why there are so few small cottage industry type businesses, otherwise all of the EW would set their own up and not resort to having tables at fairs. Sorry to tell you. You can always exhibit at Arte, Ripe and the school fairs. I think only Emirates are allowed to do this

Hubby has his contract and we are due to come real soon!!! YIKES! Can anyone recommend a GOOD priced serviced apartment or hotel with 2 adjoining rooms? We have a 3 yr old and a 1 year old and we want them to have their own room. We estimate we will be in a serviced apartment for a month and prices are coming in at about £2600 (£88 per night). Can anyone recommend somewhere cheaper or is this the norm? Or alternatives are welcome! Try Gloria Hotel Apartments on Sheikh Zayed Road Nice amenities close to Malls and Marina facilities are good Nuran at the Greens also

I have no clue how to classify my sofa, it has two big sitting cushions...is it 2 seaters then or 3 seaters? Three people can seat easily....I dont want to pay a lot. Was thinking about throwing this sofa but it is so comfy so maybe will give a try to clean...it is grey one, with kind of velvet fabric....what is a difference between dry and wet cleaning, dry is more expensive...any difference with final result? I have a 3 seater corner one which would sit 5 comfortably and paid AED500 It is cream so difficult to keep it clean. Makeup, feet etc. It was spotless when they finished cleaning it and was only wet for a few hours
